Gwen is such an amazing woman. Andrew, sir, you have done something few of us ever manage to do. You actually found a mate who completely understands you and supports you in everything you do. Bloody well done.
It is great you have a spouse that shares your passion and seems genuinely excited about the project and the prospect of the first outing. You are a fortunate man! Enjoy!
Stunning build. Really enjoy this series. As you say, everything is well thought-out and designed as a complete system. Craftsmanship from Rob is top-notch. Looking forward to the next video.
These video's are doing a terrific job of depicting the thought and effort that goes into building something exceptional. Most "build videos" tend to be a time-lapse of an interior and fittings being installed and the overall message is "Hey, this stuff is easy as long as you plan it first". That's fine as long as your build is fairly straightforward which, in turn, is likely to be a little bit heavier than it could have been or a little bit less useful. If you're really determined to optimise everything, though, there's a LOT to think about and a lot to do.
Ooooookay! My conversion to your cause has commenced, Mr St Pierre White. The work in the back of the double cab is gorgeous and I am starting to see the Tommy Camper in a different light - Lord help me. Yes, this could be very good.
Nice to see the electrical box has become a quality investment, if a job is worth doing, better to do it right. Good to see the plan coming together, 👍, looking forward to the finished job.
Hi Andrew The truck is looking absolutely shmic , Your expertise in building trucks is really starting to shine big time with this build. Colour me envy green.
Great build Andrew and you're really onto something here. This is a build that hits home with a lot of overlanders. We can't afford to have a state of the art overlander stuck in the driveway 80% of the time to go fishing in odd places on a weekend. We need to utilize the car we have and I can easily see myself getting off work on friday, go home and connect the camping unit, toss some food in the fridge and off I go. Due to kids I'd have to keep the back seat in the double cab and that would of course set me up for a whole range of new compromises, but keep on going Andrew, lots of good ideas and knowledge up of grabs here !
Just a thought, if you mounted the spare wheel the other way around you could access the dish of the wheel for storage of items such as tools etc. I am really enjoying this series. Thank you. Regards Nick
So excited about this build ! It just gets more exciting the further it develops !! And while Andrew is explaining everything, I'm completely captivated ! He just has the voice for it!!
Very happy for you. I was sceptical about the tire being inside the camper but the minute I heard about the bag over the spare wheel, I thought that's a great idea. Congratulations on this incredible build. I still think you need a unimog!
Wow. Nice work on all of that. SWMBO is a very cool lady and great to see 2 people who work so well together. Still ho hum on the colour but what I think doesn't matter a squirt. If you do manage to get down here I would like to see this thing all set up. Stay safe guys.
Hi Andrew. I'm new to this so I've been watching a number of videos on overlanding build. I'm astonished at how different they are in the US, Japan and Australia. The Japanese are a marvel at utilizing compact space and lightweight stuffs, but they're too limiting for me being based in Indo. Yours, on the other hand, are what I would consider a dream build. Thank you for the inspiration.
That was the most polite minor spousal disagreement I've seen in a long time. You've clearly spent a long time learning to effectively communicate with each other. Bravo.
What a fun project, I'm really enjoying this! Finding ways to best utilise the available space takes so much time and effort, but the results are so satisfying. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product. Very inspiring!
Honestly this is real real ENGINEERING. You have chosen the best adventure vehicle possible and modified it for a real concrete purpose. It is impossible to do it better. The best assets improved by adding the highest adventure know how. Please PATENT it!!!!
Impressive. It'll be interesting to see how it all get finishes. The drawer for your camera gear is a nice way to access your different systems and lenses. They'll stay clean and safe inside the drawer being in the cab. I'm always concerned about theft of my gear even being locked in the cab. The camera bag is a dead giveaway of expensive gear. Being in a drawer/cabinet no one knows the better. Awesome.
Andrew you were incorrect at 11:20. AGM and GEL are lead acid as well, but especially GEL in fact can be mounted in other orientation. I did this with my 90Ah GEL deep cycle battery 3 years ago and it's still fine.
Hmmm you pretty much answered or proved us (or me) wrong with all these sweet updates. I was skeptical about the tyre fitting, but it just slotted in. Its looking like a great build. I'm new to this world, these are some great ideas. Can't wait to see whats next in store for us. I just really want to see how that camper is fitted when its all done.
Nice truck, I cannot wait to see the complete project when it is done. as a side note you could probably sell the plans for the cabinet that replaces the back seat.
Hi Andrew, been watching the build and has been very interesting and educational. Has inspired me to rework the 12v set-up in the back of my truck (Triton). Thanks for the content, itching to get out camping soon!
Hi Andrew. A suggestion for your internal spare wheel. If you turn it around with the dish pointing to the rear, you can have a cake tin like cabinet made to fit inside that can be fitted with shelves or pigeon holes to house things like tyre repair kit, dirty socks, tie st rad or any of the small items that are always difficult to find or get hold of. In my jeep I put a sub woofer in the wheel. The old beatles had a tool box mounted to the spare and some new cars have tge jack in this space. Just a thought. Cheers.
I assume the higher the thumbs down the better the video? This was a stellar example of 4XO build, GWYNN, intrigue and humility, adventure planning and bonus points for the pup.
Love the built in shelving where the back row of seats used to be. Want a similar set up but mine still needs to be removable so I can use the back seats when needed.
Just a slight correction Andrew, for your info and other folks, AGM & GEL batteries can also be mounted on their sides or ends, and they are indeed SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) batteries. However I am a long time lifepo4 convert, I just love them and all their advantages.
More content with Gwynn please! Having the comment and input of the missus is always essential - especially when she kept you on your toes :)
Yeah, they are super cute together
Gwen is such an amazing woman. Andrew, sir, you have done something few of us ever manage to do. You actually found a mate who completely understands you and supports you in everything you do. Bloody well done.
I know she’s probably busy, but more Gwyn please! I’ve commented before about this, but she adds so much comedy to your videos.
I just love the way your wife got excited with the camper and the back of the 79,nice work .
NOTWITHSTANDING any criticism i think it is absolutely brilliant
Yay it's Gwynn. I love your vids that she appears in. She reminds me so much of my late mum.
Beautiful work by Rob, legendary stuff....and Jan lifted that tyre like it weighed 5kg
He's now in hospital . . .
😂👍
@@4xoverland 🤣I'd better send him a "Get Well Soon" card then
Bloody hell, you don't muck around, and you're surrounded by some real brains who clearly love the challenge. Wow.
It is great you have a spouse that shares your passion and seems genuinely excited about the project and the prospect of the first outing. You are a fortunate man! Enjoy!
You are having way too much fun Andrew. Soo good.
I love following the build, very exciting!
Stunning build. Really enjoy this series. As you say, everything is well thought-out and designed as a complete system. Craftsmanship from Rob is top-notch. Looking forward to the next video.
that color is absolutely gorgeous andrew. it is coming out so neat and perfect. congratulations
Extremely cool
Andrew: "I'm talking rubbish..."
Gynn: "Yes, you should film the dog."
Joshua Vong 😂😂 loved that
I lost it
Still didn't film the dog :(
Great that Andrew did not take that out - that speaks a lot for him ! :-) cheers
Their banter is one of the best parts of the channel! 😂

Ive made the observation before but the back and forth with Gwinnie is amazing. Always enjoyable to see you two banter. Thanks for the videos.
Nice to see the electrical box has become a quality investment, if a job is worth doing, better to do it right. Good to see the plan coming together, 👍, looking forward to the finished job.
Those guys are master builders
Hi Andrew The truck is looking absolutely shmic , Your expertise in building trucks is really starting to shine big time with this build. Colour me envy green.
Looks like you have a great team of professionals building this for you, they all seem very patient 👍🏽
Wow. Bloody skilful tradesmen Andrew!
If Gwynn is happy, I'm ecstatic! The whole project is very well organized and that's a huge point in my world. This is a first class build, very nice.
Looking forward to seeing this complete! There’s something about your film making that’s contagious. Cheers Andrew
Rob from Quickpitch is in his element here and the results are very impressive
It looks good, definitely not boring lol. Glad you figured out the fridge issue. Good vid
I love the interaction between the two of you (you and Gynn). Great stuff. 👍😊
I can't believe how well that spare tire fits!
Me neither. It was a real surprise as to how little useful interior space it used up.
Simple things we say can make such a big effect on others such as when you said you wanted to build it for two. I love the build. Great job.

Yes, maybe use the air from the tire for something.??
This feels like a TV show. it’s great
I love to see capable people making great things. What a group of people. Awesome vehicle.
So excited about this build ! It just gets more exciting the further it develops !!
And while Andrew is explaining everything, I'm completely captivated ! He just has the voice for it!!
Coming together nicely... look forward to your next video... 👍🏻
Very happy for you. I was sceptical about the tire being inside the camper but the minute I heard about the bag over the spare wheel, I thought that's a great idea. Congratulations on this incredible build. I still think you need a unimog!
I like the fact your partner appreciates and enjoys it as much as you.. oh and schooled you on phrases 😂 looking good!
Always great to see one of your videos pop,up..makes the day!
the camper truck is turning out to be a piece of art ,, good job
Wow fantastic looking setup.
Wow.
Nice work on all of that.
SWMBO is a very cool lady and great to see 2 people who work so well together.
Still ho hum on the colour but what I think doesn't matter a squirt.
If you do manage to get down here I would like to see this thing all set up.
Stay safe guys.
Great work once again mate, love the bespoke drawer/storage system in the cabin, tolerance of a fine tuned lathe
Gynn is always so positive and smiley, I think you knew what her reaction would be Andrew.
That project is looking Awesome.

First off an outstanding build. The best part was your wife’s smile when she was thinking of the both of you on a trip.
Super loving your videos Andrew, really looking forward to the first day out.
Love your rig Andrew. Simply awesome 👍👍
Andrew is proud of his flux capacitor placement :) . Coming together nicely.
What a fun project, I'm really enjoying this! Finding ways to best utilise the available space takes so much time and effort, but the results are so satisfying. I'm looking forward to seeing the final product. Very inspiring!
It wasn’t a “waste of time” it was “content” ;)
Such quality content!!! Awesome!
Gwynne is your secret weapon. This build has been fantastic content!
Honestly this is real real ENGINEERING. You have chosen the best adventure vehicle possible and modified it for a real concrete purpose. It is impossible to do it better. The best assets improved by adding the highest adventure know how. Please PATENT it!!!!
Thank you for the entertainment! This is the best thing on rn.
A very satisfying watch. Great to see the custom storage being made. And you should have the missus on more often! Had a fun on-camera dynamic. :)
We just love seeing the glee in your face when shown different things priceless it is looking beyond good . Happy trails
That build is awsome Andrew love it mate
great video Andrew, who would have thought that you could have a cruiser with a flux capacitor, out of this world.
or should I have said, where your going Andrew you don't need roads.
It starts looking like the dream camper that you promised. Such a nice build.
WOW, Andrew that cabinet in the rear area is "Schmick"... It is coming along very nicely.
Nice truck. I want one when I grow up. 😊 love the passion. Well done 👏👏
Andrew must be preparing to send his truck into future, installing a flux capacitor into the centre console lol
Impressive. It'll be interesting to see how it all get finishes. The drawer for your camera gear is a nice way to access your different systems and lenses. One word ... Perfect 👌🏽
Very rewarding as things come together
This is an exciting build to watch.
“We are talking rubbish” yes we are , “you should film the dog” 😂😝🤓awesome laughed so hard
Thanks Andrew good vid
Awesome formula 1 sound bite for the dog.
Can't wait for next video.
Andrew you were incorrect at 11:20. AGM and GEL are lead acid as well, but especially GEL in fact can be mounted in other orientation. I did this with my 90Ah GEL deep cycle battery 3 years ago and it's still fine.
Very nice. I like. Good inspiration voor in my 130. Can’t wait for the new video!
Awesome video, notwithstanding your wife’s excellent grammar!
Thanks! 😃
😳😏😀😀😀
She's the professional!
Gwen ~ "Wordsworth" is what 4wd is to Andrew Lol 😁

I love this build Andrew. its a very functional set up, Cant wait to see how it performs and functions on the tracks.
Andrew, you're having entirely too much fun.

Now that’s a nice truck.

Enjoying this build rather a lot. Thanks. 👍🇦🇺
Most impressive. Nufsaid !
If I could describe this build in one word it'l be (drummmrrrrooooooool) SPLENDID.... 🤠
looks awesome, can´t wait to see it finished
Hold on. My entire Troopy obsession began after watching your earlier builds. Please don’t make me go down the 79 route! Really enjoying this build.
Love the built in shelving where the back row of seats used to be. Want a similar set up but mine still needs to be removable so I can use the back seats when needed.

looks great
Behind every great man is a great woman as proven here @ around 6' 50". Brilliant. Respect.
