- The crocodiles along the Mara River are famous for their incredible size, but as big as they are, they can still bite off more than they can chew! After catching a young zebra, the crocs went into a feeding frenzy and started devouring the zebra. One of the bigger crocs ended with most of the unlucky zebra, and couldn't swallow it! This was filmed on the Great Migration Safari.

In the video a lot of them tried it but just kept not getting all the way around and having trouble with the muscles not tearing or ligaments staying binded. I know a lot of the gators from around where I live usually mess up too on larger animals. So to see it so fluid was nice is all. I know why they do it, I live in a place where gators walk around like squirells and even at my old campus we would see them just walking the lawn like students 🤣

You can tell that those things are prehistoric just by looking at them. Definitely a throwback species from a brutal period of time.

They have been there for millions of years, even the predecessors fought against the T-Rex for food near the rivers, in fact, if a T-Rex hunted something near a river, if there was one crocodile the Rex could take the food but if there were two of those monsters then the T-Rex had to leave the food, because the crocodiles in the Cretaceous were 16 meters long...something insane considering how big the crocodiles in the Mara River are.

Yup, they can’t chew up their food and they have tiny stomachs. They swallow everything. They have incredible powerful stomach acid. They rely on thrashing their prey apart or letting another croc grab on and roll as you see later in the video. Imagine us trying to eat a whole half a chicken bone and all haha.
