Can't wait to go see the Maroon village this year! I'm from Ghana (Ashanti) so it means a lot. Nanny from the maroons is Ashanti. There is a place in Ghana called Akropong. Very similar in name and pronunciation!

Thank you for your kind words about my late grandmother. This was my favorite part not just because of the family here but also because of how few tourists were here. It means a lot to me that she is being remembered in such a special way. If you are comfortable driving you will save a lot but jamaicans drive crazy. You will see for yourself
