Greetings Professor. Ah, the Grizzly battlemech. A fairly popular Mech on display at the Hellsport Mech Museum, but one that needs to be pulled from public display for general maintenance. The Mech Museum only has one Grizzly Mech in the inventory, and that one only, because one of the Legions was able to capture it while it was in depot for repairs. Most of the Solahama units were destroyed in battle, with few parts surviving intact for salvage, so the capture of the Grizzly was seen as a 'good thing' at the time. Over at the Mek Werks, Jason and his crew loathed working on the thing. They encountered every problem you mentioned, and even a few more. What they turned over to the Museum was basically a 'stock' Grizzly but with the armor plating issues ironed out, and other issues addressed as well. Once moved to the Museum, the grizzly's weapons were put on display behind the Mech's chassis and the Fusion Engine was pulled out and replaced with a mock-up. The Mech will never again move on its own power unless the Museum can fund the reinstalling of the fusion engine, so as to return it to the Mek Werks for further repairs and refurbishment. Which I might add, is not a thing that Jason and his crew really like to do. A recent suggestion was to use a couple of cranes to lay the Mech down, and then ship it off to one of the remaining Hellsport manufacturing sites, and allow them to refurbish it. The cost-benefit analysis is currently ongoing, and I could see that happening instead of moving it to the Mek Werks. The Grizzly is a favorite display for the sons and daughters of former Ghost Bear Elementals and the families of the few former Ghost Bear Warriors who have become Compact Citizens after their captures. I believe it is seen as a sort of 'touchstone' to their shared past off-world, even though their current lives are far better than their various past experiences. This 'touchstone' thing is also why a couple of Clan Ghost Bear Elemental Suits are on display beside the Grizzly Mech as well, which is part of the Clan Wing of the Museum. I believe that at least one of the suits on display was the suit worn by at least one former Elemental and the only one that repeatedly and deliberately crosses the exclusion zone to actually touch the suit and examine it in more detail. One of the former Ghost Bear Pilots also visits regularly and gets within touching distance of the Grizzly Mech, but rarely does make contact with the machine. I personally think that the Mech was the 'ride' of a personal friend of his in his former life. I hope that all is well with you and your people. And keep a close eye on the Capellans. They can't be trusted, even a century now after the Great Betrayal of the old Star Lions Corps, which as you know, eventually became the Ghost Lions Legions. Make an all Bear star with the Cub, Kuma, Arcas, Grizzly and Kodiak. This should be BEAR-y interesting.
I expected a good talk about the technical aspects of the Grizzly and this video does not disappointment. Well done!
Discussing this design was interesting because it is not talked about enough, to be quite honest.
Grizzly is a really cool mech. Been one of my favorites since MW2 GBL.
I am surprised it is not more common after the publicity it got in GBL.
grizzly,Kodak,i know.i hoped they made new mechs like polar bear,45-ton mech black bear.
Polar Bear as a superheavy tripod.
The Grizzly has been a favorite of mine for a long time.
Grizzly: the tough, slow, poor cousin of the Summoner.

I kinda wanna get back into battletech but the sudden jumping forward in the timeline just lost me
@@advkow You can go back anywhere in the timeline you want to go. Most people still play Civil War and Clan Invasion anyways.
I had the problem of the Clan Invasion being a big deal to us, and like, a 15 year inconvenience in Canon. Most of Battletech doesn't care.
That flag is uncomfortably fashy
That was the intention, to be honest. Kicking hornet's nests and tipping sacred cows is required in this day and age.
