    I have never been a big fan of the standard Oro Leather Moc Toe boots (preferred the look of the darker leathers) but the addition of the leather midsole and the dark wedge soles made a huge improvement. Now, if the yellow/orange laces were replaced with leather laces, I think this would have even gone a step further. Great Job!

    Great job Mark - l love the soft sole jobs. I had a pair of Pods with soft soles and tried to get them resoled back in late 80s . No one would touch them, ended up skipping them. Off piste question here though Mark, seen Bedo do a refurb and instead of nails the souls were held on with wooden pegs!!! Have you ever came across a revamp that had pegs?????

    • @CobblerG
      @CobblerG  8 месяцев назад +1

      I've never done one myself, but alot of cowboy boots waist area are wooden pegged. I've seen some soles with wooden pegs, it's old school I think, but can look great! Maybe il do one in future! G

    I recently bought a pair of 875's from Redwing's Manhatten store which was a fantastic experience they really know the product and have more width options in the USA.
    I've not broken them in yet tough going but they are really worth the money & pain.
    Wasn't sure about the black Cristie you used but it looks fantastic!
    Redwing are missing a trick I'd have bought black soles had they been offered.
    What product did you use to condition the leather?

      They are a nice boot! Yeah the black goes pretty well with these! I used saddle soap to clean it and a natural wax to polish them. G

    Great job G....Question- why remove the midsole? Isnt just removing the foam outer an option? 🤔

    • @CobblerG
      @CobblerG  8 месяцев назад +1

      The way these are put together, the sole is near impossible to remove without taking the midsole with it, plus the customer wanted a thick leather midsole anyway 👊👊👊👊

    Great work, one question, If you did not replace the GYW stitching, how did you do to stich the welt with the leather midsole? I saw you used the machine for do that, but, Did you use the same holes? I mean, the holes that were made in the Red Wing Factory. If yes, this part in my opinion should be the most difficult step. Am i wrong?

    • @CobblerG
      @CobblerG  8 месяцев назад

      I did replace the stitching, I removed the old ones, and stitched the midsole to the welt using the machine, I set the stitch length to match the original stitches and line it up to go into the original holes.
      Cheers
