I have always wanted to be a veterinarian, but haven’t found a veterinarian that I love enough to follow until I came across your channel when you were in vet school and now I am OBSESSED with your videos and they are getting me so excited for going to college and then continuing my journey to vet school!
I absolutely love your videos! I am doing a 17 month long vet assistant course through Pennfoster online. I was contemplating on quitting the Vet Assistant course because I thought I would never be good at the job. There were so many things I was scared about that I have never done before. I've never had to answer a phone professionally, I never have recored health information. Then, I realize the reson I'm taking this course is too help with these skills. I also belive by learning to talk on the phone professionally and record information, is helping me get to the bigger picture working with animals. I know it won't be easy but, it will be worth it. Thank you Amanda for showing me to never give up on your dreams even if it's hard.
Wednesdays are my preferred day off too! It’s the best day to break up the week and make time for appointments. And I love organizing and I can easily get carried away organizing all day lol. Also do you use any resources for meal prepping? I’m about to start vet school and want to find ways to plan my time wisely, especially when it comes to groceries and food!
I have Wednesdays off too and I love them. I totally understand what you were saying about waking up early on Wednesdays depending on your Monday and Tuesday shifts. I think of Wednesdays as my catch up/study/exercise/chores day too. I love the blog BTW 😂❤
Hello! First, I absolutely love your videos. I started watching them in my undergrad about two years ago and finally subscribed just because recently. I just got accepted to vet school yesterday and I am so excited!!! (and naturally telling everyone). I was wondering, what did you do with Link while in class for the day and while at work for the day? I'm curious for bringing my dog with me to vet school and wanting him to be happy while I am gone at class.
Congratulations!!! So excited for you! I got link at the height of Covid so I was home doing class all day when he was a baby. As he got older my class schedule was less intense and I would only be gone for 3-4 hours at a time! Now that he’s older he gets to go to work my partner of come to the clinic with me! At my school we weren’t allowed to bring dogs unless they were service animals, but I think it was good for him to be home alone for short bits of time!!
Hi Amanda, Happy new year, I hope your life continues so grate and beautiful they are. I have a question. Whats your MBTI? I think you are the harmonizer, advocate or logistican. In 20 days its my first class in the university to be a veterinarian, im so nervous, but I know everything is going to be fine. You a re a big inspiration for me and for not give up in the university, I know its going to be hard, but also it worth it. Love you Amanda. Have a nice day
I actually have no idea! The only personality test I've taken was the Myers-Briggs and if I remember my results were INFJ. Best of luck on your veterinary journey!! 🤍
Hey Amanda! I have a question so when you were in high school were their any classes you took to learn about becoming a veterinarian or like any classes involving animals in the medical field? Because when I go to high school which is in a couple years I want to know which classes will help me for my career😊.
Hi!! In high school there’s not a ton of courses that relate directly to the veterinary field. I did take a coop course in grade 11 where I did a placement at a vet clinic but other than that it’s mostly just the standard courses! Biology is probably the class that relates most to medicine in general!
How do you manage Links shedding? I really want a golden but also shameful a bit house proud but willing to say feck it and just go with the flow as id imagine the benefits outweigh the cons :)
Hii i noticed that you own a dog and was wondering if you could tell us a bit about your life with the dog as a vet student? I’m planning on getting into veterinary medicine too, and i’m also planning on getting a dog but i’d want to be 100% sure first :)
hi! i was wondering how many years of undergrad was required before applying to ovc? i know they say 8 full semesters on the application page so would that be 2 years?
You can apply after you have completed the first 2 year of your undergrad which means you apply in your third year. So the earliest you can get in to OVC is after your third year of undergrad!
Dear Amanda . Is Alison veterinary diploma course valid in USA ? Do check in your neighborhood and give someone his dream life sir ... In case if you don't know what is Alison. It's a Irish Based Online Learning Platform. They provide Diploma and certificate courses .
