I agree.. The town itself is a beautiful place and deserves at lease a 2 hour tour.. I decided to videotape it when I was stuck there during a snowstorm, I am so glad I did so! Thank you for your comments!

I spent several days on leave there in 1968 while I was in the US Army. Of course, prices were rock bottom--$3 for a Gasthaus room ($20 or so in 2021 dollars), perhaps $2 for a good German meal....those were the days. Nice to see it still looks as beautiful as it did then.
To think, Ludwig II used to traverse these roads by night in his majestic sleigh pulled by 8 white horses accompanied by whatever handsome young Bavarian groom or aspiring actor held his attention at the moment
