@IrvineBrooks for a guy who had such excellent attention to detail, I don't know why Vince Gilligan didn't make more of an effort to have authentic Mexican Spanish spoken in the show. They could've just picked up a local Mexican from the hardware store to correct them and it would've solved everything
@@bluemonday2000 It's a tough decision, because on one hand, you could get more authentic spanish speakers but does their appearance and acting abilities match the rest of the actors in the show? I'd argue it's just as noticeable when a person isn't a good actor or don't have the look for the character as much as it's noticeable how off the accents are. On the other hand, you can have really good actors that try their best at an accent, in which all the english viewers are oblivious to how off it is (as long as they are speaking spanish at a consistent rate, english viewers are not going to be aware of how good or bad the accent is). It's more of a catch 22 than anything. Can't blame the logic behind choosing the option that will affect a larger portion of the intended audience in a better way than the other way around.
@@bluemonday2000It's probably just as hard to find a good actor of authentic background as it is to find a good child actor. Not rare, but probably uncommon and difficult. I can't think of a single person in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul that ever drags the show down with their acting. I can only imagine how difficult it was to find great actors, especially on an AMC budget, especially when they had no clue if they'd get a 2nd season of Breaking Bad, let alone an entire sequel. It would take a lot of sifting on the part of the casting director to find good people. As the show stands, while not authentic, it is very naturally inclusive. Nobody feels out of place. There's a good amount of Latino representation, plus a lot of side characters that are some Latino or Native. So while we lose out on accuracy in the accent, maybe the skin tone, we win out with talent, the creators win out with budget, and there's still decent representation. Though, while I like his performance, Mark Margolis was the wrong pick for a Latino Tio of the Salamancas. To be fair, they had no clue he'd speak so much later or be such a big part of a Mexican Cartel. But that's the biggest error where the casting feels out of place, even to the average non-Spanish speaker.

Technically you should include the flashback in BB S3-E7 where hector holds marco under water in front of leonel
I wanted to see a Salamanca Meeting with All Of them under one roof
I love the idea that they barely speak but can still speak English
You know the video contains fax if it shows BANDICAM on the top.
Its a shame that they barely ever speak. They are one of the few mexican characters without a gringo accent
Them not speaking is a major part of why their characters are so great. It adds mystery to their characters
having less than 1 minute of speaking in two combined shows of more than 30 hours is an exploit I'd say
You guys know that the guy who had the “vest” said more in those 2 minutes then thr twins in both BB and BCS 😂😂😂
That last one, when he said ‘too easy’, sent chills up my spine, you know what he would’ve done to Hank’s skull if that bullet didn’t exist.
Marco actually dropped that bullet when he turned around as well.
