I've seen translations of the lyrics, but I didn't take away much insight from them.. Nobody translates the main chorus line properly for some reason, but I suspect "paka paka" bit suppose to illustrate the sound of the horseshoes horse makes while the man is riding it. Sorta jokingly playful line. If that's the case, paired with an unclear threat to Nacho, it may hint that Lalo can't be trusted despite his jokester good guy attitude.

One moment he’s kind and happy then the next moment he’s serious and ready to kill you but doesn’t show any real emotion like anger. Like the “tell me again” scene is a perfect example of this how he confronts Saul but is calm with him at the beginning but his demeanour slowly changes and that happiness in his face and mood changes and you can see he’s serious, which leads us on the edge of our seat with suspense. I love that last shot as Lalo steps In to frame with Varga looking out from the kitchen, but it's almost feels like the frame represents what Varga is used to and suddenly the boisterous Lalo has just entered it , like Varga looking out at the landscape and realising shits about to get real. I think it speaks to the outstanding direction of Vince Gilligan and co.

I love scenes written like this. On paper, everything Lalo is saying is above board and just fine. It's normal, even. A friendly guy. But everything is about context. The context of the scene, knowing who he actually is, knowing he is not really being friendly, knowing Nacho hates him there and Lalo knows Nacho hates him there....that's what makes it brilliant. We don't always see great scenes like this anymore, they are not easy to create.

I seriously wish lalo was in the show more. He’s quickly become my favourite character in the BB universe (though I love mike and jimmy too almost as much). But he came in late season 4, and has been absent for most of season 6. Obviously the writing and story requires he not be as present at the moment. But Seriously, every time he’s on screen I can’t stop smiling. And every moment he’s not on screen, I find myself constantly asking when we’re gonna see him again. Brilliant fukn character. Tony dalton deserves an Emmy.
