- Check out the latest upgrade to the AutoEdit Jeep Wrangler JKU Rubicon! This is the Metalcloak JK Wrangler Rear Bumper "Crawler" and Tire Carrier... it's the short one at 62" across.
The install is really quite easy (flip flop rated) and can be done in a few hours and in my experience, has the highest reward to effort ratio of anything I've done on the Jeep so far.
Just take a look at the finished product!!!
In this video, I'll take you through a step by step of the compete installation to show just how simple and fun it is.

www.metalcloak....
Such a great looking bumper and I love that the install is flipflop rated!!
Ha! Thanks, seems like a very relatable scale we can all understand. By the way, I really like your channel as well!
Thank you!

a tip: you can watch movies at kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Karsyn Fletcher Yea, have been using KaldroStream for years myself :D
I just replaced my wrecked 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sport with a 2012 Unlimited Rubicon. I'm watching your build closely so I can follow your lead. Thanks for the videos!
Of course, glad you found the channel!
wow, that was super easy. Talk about a well engineered product! Putting on my XJ bumper from another company was a huge pain, partially because it was one piece, and partially because it was HEAVY. That multi piece strategy is the way to go!
This is my favorite jeep upgrade series! Thank you for sharing all your fun and hard work.
I just want to say that you make the most entertaining videos. Ive watched this video ten times along with all your other videos, and it is still awesome to watch. Great job!!!
Can't wait to see the high lift and gas can!!! Been looking for hours online for a good bumper that holders all 3 things I need!! I think I found it ! Thanks
Thanks! Yeah I'm really excited to get that stuff on the back of the rig too!
Lol i felt your joy dude when the tire carrier locked smooth 🤣🤣 i use my floor jack like that too! 🤜🤛🙌✌️
You and me both!
Looks like a super smooth install and looks tough. Since watching these I am looking for a early 90's jeep. Hard to come by ones with little to no rust in the Ohio Michigan area.
I am totally following your vids on your build!! I just bought my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon this past June and I am loving it!! Saving up for some mods!!
That looks sweet and heavy duty without being a boat anchor low profile too
I just have to say, the camera work on this video was amazing. Well done!
I'll tell my camera guy... Oh wait, that's me so thanks a bunch!!!!
Loved the way you casually filmed to fire and smoke without any obvious worry in your voice 🤘 I'm English but live in Germany. Jeep is getting more popular here and I'm thinking of a Renegade for sometime next year. Could you really use it (with the mods) as an every day vehicle? What engine do you have in your's, diesel or gas (petrol)? You have a great style of presenting. really good to watch and above all, informative 👍
Robert Williamson we dont have the diesel option here in the states :(
The jeep is really starting to come together. Looking good.
Gave an actual thumbs up when you showed the cleaned up bumper support. I can't stand tutorials that show new parts being installed on a dirty part of a car!
Love your videos!!!!!! I always end up watching them out of order but thats ok!!!! i just love how you do everything out of your garage. I am super jealous that there is no rust at all, Im from Ohio haha.
Thanks for making these vids! Love seeing an epic jeep build on RUclips
Thank you dude!
Love the Videos Man! I cant wait to see you install the lift kit. Its always a great day when I get a notification that you posted a video!
Awesome to hear, Thanks so much!
Great upgrade! These vids will help a lot of people.
Love the videos! If you're thinking about lifting it anymore, I suggest the 4" EVO enforcer. I have heard nothing but good things about it and I would love to see an install video of it!
Min 10:45 that face tho! Haha I've watched this video more than 3 times and it never gets old your reaction 🤣
HA! I just re watched that and it gave me a laugh... Thanks!!!!
Great video of the installation, you make it look so easy that I may have to do the same setup! Jeep looks awesome.
Thanks! I've been very happy with this setup... not a single issue and I use the heck out of it!
Pretty good product and install. I'd have used never-seize on the bolts.
Thanks for another great vid! I'm also in So cal and have been experiencing those crazy orange skies! Still have my stock 2016 JKU rubicon. Writing down my list!
Awesome to hear that!
This video was so satisfying to watch
Bro you are awesome with the step buy step . I’m buying metalcloak just like you
Thanks!
You are too good with these videos. Great work!
Great video once again! Good luck with the fire situation. Hope your house nor your neighbours gets damaged. Be safe.
Thanks!
This is very cool
I enjoyed watching!
Thanks for share it with us ...
I got a 91' Jeep Wrangler and i am catching good ideas from you to make my Jeep a bad ass as yours hehe...
Awesome to hear
Thanks for the videos man. I have the same rig, just a 2011. Gives me inspiration for what I'm going to do next for mine! Stay safe with those fires out there!
Thanks...yes those fires are a total bummer.
I like that leverage trick with the Allen wrench you did.
Ah, you caught that... those little allen wrenches are tough to get leverage on.
Yeah, and depending on the size they feel like they are bending in your hand.
Awesome video I like the way the tire sits low for visibility
Thanks! It does help with the view out the back window for sure!
Jason you should do a video on how you keep your jeep so clean I have a 2014 black rubicon 4 door and I can't seem to clean all the nooks and crannies as well as you can. It would be a great video!
Consider that on the list of videos to do!
Every video I love this jeep more and more!
I love the new bumper Jason. I really does look Bad Ass! And I also love the Roadkill General Mayhem sticker too, lol. I hope the fires don't come any closer dude. Good Luck. -Drew
Looks nice I want one for my 98 tj but you need to watch a video on how to pack a bearing by hand, probably not gonna hurt for that application but a wheel bearing would be junk after your job
Can we get a new Jeep episode!? Keep up the great work!
Man oh man have I been waiting for an update video
Another awesome install video! I may actually replace my Poison Spyder bumper with this one.
Fred has one if those on Tube Sock and I really like it but the tire carrier on this one is what sold me. Thanks for checking out the vid!!!
think u should use the J.W. Speaker® 279 J Series LED Tail Light Kit, looks like it would fit perfectly with the kits you have been installing
Great video! Love watching the evolution of your Jeep. It is giving me ideas for mine. Thanks!
love the content!!! ugh i binge watched all your vids & now i want more!! love the jeep
Enjoying the videos Jason..!! Please keep them coming..! 😎.
Great install video, entertaining 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another winner Jason. Did you ever do a follow up with the gas can and license plate and rear brake light installs?
Jeep is turning out nice
love your video! I believe this is the rear bumper and tire carrier i am looking for.
Thanks for the video I have been looking for a good bumper for my ramcharger build starting looking in to keep bumpers after this video I can see that with some modifications I can mount this bumper on my ramcharger
Does the tailgate on your Jeep hit the tire carrier gate when they are both all the way open? I love the looks of this set up just want to know about interference
That jeeps looking killer sir, awesome video as always keep it up
Thanks so much for checking it out!
That is one of the best bumper-carriers I've seen ever. Looks very sharp and well-made. As far as just the bumper, how heavy do you think it is? I know the stock is very light. Thanks man! great videos.
That rear bumper with end caps is probably 35 pounds.
Awesome video again. Keep up the amazing build
I like the way it looks without a lift
Me too...we'll see how it does next time into the hills...
Love the videos man! Keep up the great work!
Oh and stay safe during the fire!
Thanks so much...yeah those fires were no good.
+autoedit what type of dog do you have
9opO
Kk...
Hey, I really enjoy the videos, but I have a question regarding the hi-lift jack on this bumper, I'm sure that you can already guess what I'm going to ask, but does it rattle, if so would maybe installing the jack a little bit lower fix it?
that's a great upgrade for the jeep you made it seem simple nice job. do you have any news on large Marge? I am afraid it's going to end up like the mavrick. I hope not really dig that car!
If I had one thing to nag about, it would be the right pin. It would be nice if that pin locked when you closed the tire carrier. Anyways, the build is coming along sweet.
But then you have to pull up two pins to open it....
Right but the function of the right pin is to keep 100+ pounds of tire and steel from swinging freely....
Love the JK videos! I've been looking for a front and rear bumper setup for our project JK (Project Dirty Willy) and haven't been able to find anything we remotely like. Sad to say, I don't like this one either, I just don't like bumpers that don't contour to the body of the Jeep. This bumper does good with that on the rear but not around the sides, so it leaves the pinch welds on the sides of the tub exposed and to me that just doesn't look good. Don't get me wrong these are great quality products but MOST aftermarket bumpers just don't look like they belong on a JK, they are all function but no form/fit/style or looks. Our rig gets used but it also looks really nice, that's why we can't find fenders either. Again MOST of them just don't look right on the JK. It's hard to explain, if you check out some Project Dirty Willy videos on my channel you will see the look we are going for. We like everything to look like it belongs on the Jeep, almost as if it was a special "option". The wife calls it the SWAT/Tactical/Police look, check it out if you get the chance or know of any products that may fit our build style. Once we get it back that is, we got rear ended so it's in the body shop, I've got videos about that as well. Anyway, thank you very much if you do take a look. Keep the JK videos coming!
awesome rear bumper...this may have to happen on my 2015!
I've been very happy with it so far... easy install and great functionality!
Plastic/rubber parts do not take very long to fade and loose their deepness if they aren't maintained with trim products. Especially with the amount of dirt and sand that get's on it, they dry out. The sun and UV does the same. It's similar to your skin. Gotta moisturize it. Or coat it.
Looks like a Metal Cloak lift is next!
Loving it. Any issue with opening the back tailgate? Does it open fully?
The sand fire was crazy
that's a badass bumper
I see a jeep in the reflection of your tailgate at about 1:50 .. I bet you'll mention it by the time I finish the video!
Enjoying watching your build! Thanks for doing this. Fyi lock washers suck (from industrial experience) better off using locktite.
Copy that!
I say this all the time but it's true. Another fantastic video.
Thanks a bunch!
so now that you took the stock tow hook off will you be rigging up a new one?
Looks great but won't you get a mechanical violation for removing the center high mount stop light? I think when you relocate the license plate you can add that and the required light for that at the same time.
I'm not sure that's a ticket in California but I am putting a cool one in the spare tire.
Thats a good looking jeep!
Thanks!
i love your jk build!!!
Thanks, I'm liking it more all the time too!
Thanks man. Support yours as always. Pretty cool
I appears the Rear Metalcloak fenders create a large space between the factory jeep sheet metal and the added rear metalcloak... How do you plan to deal with mud and rust formation? Beauty of a rig, hate to see rust get started...
Everything is painted up in there and I think they count on the owners just cleaning that area out every once in a while. I didn't see anything to concerning for me back there but I'll let you know how it does in more wet terrain this winter.
Looks great. Loving your Jeep!
Would you ever loctite any of the bolts that were fastened to the frame? Or why didn't you use loctite?
фантастическое исполнение, все аккуратно сделано и работает идеально!!!
Me too
I hear ya
What size wheels and what size tire? Sweet setup
Txs for your videos man!! I'm just like you!!! I like what you like and do it all my-self lol At least always trying to.. lol Lets keep going!!!
Well all right! Thanks so much and will try to keep it going!
This makes the best videos.
Thanks for the great build videos!
You really put a lot into these videos! Really well done... Thank you. :-)
Your bumper definitely looks more faded than my '08. Wonder if they switched to a different material, or maybe you just get more sun down there. And I know how it feels to be near a big fire. The Rim Fire was not far from me two years ago. REALLY like that bumper, especially the roller bearing pivot. And it closes soooo nicely!
Oh, saw you got your 1-2 second of fame in the buggy episode of Dirt Every Day :P
LOL, thanks! Yeah, the buggy one was rough...
autoedit Yeah, heard to piece together an episode when the vehicle just wont cooperate. But that TJ diesel episode, it made up for it I think ;)
Oh dude...that is so great to hear...needed that!
+autoedit Would have loved to see you open your rear door to see if it had any clearance issues. Would hate to add all those accessories, then open the back hatch, only to make contact with the tire carrier causing damage. Please include in your next video.
Will do, thanks for the good request!
I was thinking that I should get a 2016-17...but I think a 2013 would be great!
Hey what are the exact names and sizes for the tires and wheels? I myself am planning on customizing my wrangler soon and I really like the ones you have!
Hey Jason, Im so keen to see the mustang build. Any more vids?
Another fantastic video...thank you!!
Awesome man. Do thry make one with integarated triler hitch?? My jk i got used didnt come with one (good and bad) 😂✌🏼
Just check rugged ridge for a bolt in trailer hitch!
@@AutoEdits Thanks 🙏🏼 🤙🏼
Love your vids, and your Jeep. Quick question. What grease did you use to pack the bearings? Thank you
Are you going to be adding skid plates or rock sliders? Just wondering because it seems everything you're doing is the route I'm looking at going.
Yes eventually!
I don’t think metal cloak makes this anymore 😢 all I could find on the website is the bumper with no swing gate ☹️
Great videos buddy, definitely doing the same setup by metalcloack. I always see you clean all ur parts ? What kind of cleaning products are u using ??
I use 409 or sometimes just a simple car wash soap and water and sometimes I spray a little wd40 on stuff.
Your rig looks sweet all armored up. Did the rear compress much with the added weight?
Thanks, you know, the rear didn't compress as much as I thought. Not a noticeable amount.
I don't know if you still reply to these comments, but did this lower your hitch receiver from the stock at all?
was there a D-Ring mount on the bottom of that bumper?
Solid vid though! I'm loving Metal Cloak more and more.
There isn't a D-ring mount on this bumper but you can just put one in the trailer hitch.
autoedit
Thank you for the reply!
Herp derp lol that's actually the best idea! Thank you!
I love your videos. I hope you have enough money to continue adding parts :)
When's the suspension lift coming?
Really like the bumper, where did you order it from?
Nice job bro
good work on the video
How do you maintain the bearings. I don't see a zerk fitting
