Update: didn’t fix it, but what DID fix my issue is SLOWLY inserting the microphone aux into the controller. Then I was able to adjust the game/chat audio slider

Thanks mate, just reset mine to factory settings because I’m selling it and I am getting the newest Xbox one X series X. I’ve been selling tonnes of old consoles and old controllers and pocketing the money towards the latest console. Simplicity is best nowadays don’t want to have the complication of stockpiling old consoles when they can be recycled or given to somebody else who’ll enjoy them. Thanks again very helpful video 👍

Thanks for the video. I got a used Xbox One from Goodwill. I went out and bought a controller and power cord. Once I hooked everything up and connected to my wifi, I realized that whomever it belonged to was still signed in to their account and hadn't updated the Xbox in quite a while. I've deleted all the profiles. Once I get everything updated I'll do the factory reset that you mentioned.

I had to reset my console because Microsoft Edge suddenly disappeared after the last update and i can’t find it anywhere, including the store and my apps. I was able to get it back after the factory reset. Thanks for the help

Did the pads work what you used before or did you have to to get a new pad
I keep getting death screan so had to hard reboot my console but im needing to do this every time now, now a new problem i cant get on this settings up as nothing will come or load up
have you checked for overheating? That does sound like a hardware fault
Hey just hold the pair button and the eject disc button at the same time and then turn on your Xbox still holding th buttons and then just reset it from the trouble shoot screen

Literally turned my xbox on today after I ain’t been on in a day, and it came up with a controller saying ‘press A’ so I spammed it and I think it’s fully reset my xbox

Hadn't tried it but this helps. I've been having a weird issue that I need a fix for which is not being able to hear anyone on mic plus I cant matchmake with anyone on a different system, it just doesn't work. Plus my games crash and lag all the time for no reason.
it might help, sounds like there is some weird stuff going on there, let us know if it cures it

After i reach the 3rd yr and reach the offseason phase of the myleague, i reach the player and team option phsase. EVERY SINGLE TIME i reach this particular phase of the game it literally freezes and kicks me out to the main screen every single time. Can u please give me an idea or help in any way??
Sorry that is way outside of my knowledge base. I would imagine it is a bug in the game or maybe an issue in your gamer profile

My console starts up but no display on my tv, have tried everything !! Display does not show anything.
there is a display reset function you can do Reset your display settings. Here's how:
If there’s a disc in the Xbox One console, eject it.
On the console, press and hold the Xbox button for five seconds to turn off the console.
Press and hold the Xbox button and the Eject button until you hear a beep to turn on the console.
Note This will boot your console in a low resolution mode (640 × 480). To reset these settings again, press the Menu button, select Settings, and then select Display & sound.

reinstall the game that worked for me
For anyone who wants a permanent fix to this, do this-
1- Buy an external hard drive
2- Download every game you want on another xbox onto the external hard drive.
3- do the factory reset
4- set the external hard drive as your main storage device
Problem solved! Had the green screen of death, never loaded anything, heard of this method and never had problem since, xbox works just like new!

My Xbox has been acting up we’re I can’t open any apps and my games are lagging and madden 21 won’t open nor will it show a picture of the cover when it’s installed so I hope this works

Do all your accounts keep on your xbox if you factory reset with keep games and apps option.
it will just reset the system files i believe unless they have changed something since i made the video

try a system reset before a full factory reset
My x box One s wont connect to the internet even when it is hard wired , i logged out of my account then logged back in due to problems when i went to log back in i got the message to say connect to the internet and on top of that the date and time has returned to 2019
could be the ethernet or wifi module failed. I would try a full factory reset and see if that sorts it.

your account is always in the cloud with a microsoft account so if you remove it from a device you can transfer it to another

no it will only do it on the console or device you reset
how long does this take google says it takes 15 hours
depends how bad it is, normally about an hour or so
Will this take away you Xbox live?
xbox live is associated with your microsoft account. when you log in again you will have access to live again but may loose some older titles if not available on the servers

the accounts may still be on there but if you have two factor auth no one can get into them, but it may cause problems for the next user

About how long should a factory reset take. I’m currently trying to do mine and the screen turned off but the Xbox is still on. I just want to make sure it’s working. I haven’t used my Xbox in a while and it has a whole bunch of problems hopefully it is working
it can take quite a while, so just be patient and it should be done in less than an hour
