I’ve been a fan for awhile but this is the first time I’ve seen this video. And it’s 100% what I needed to hear today. For the past few years I’ve felt like I’ve been trying to draw for others and not from my heart. Not pursuing what I want. Gotta make this my mantra. Thank you ❤

I had a very similar experience in school! I think this is also applies to the pressure to make things that will be more popular on social media. For me I do a couple hp fan arts and now nobody wants to see anything but that😅 it can really suck the fun out of it! So this was great and just what I needed to hear today!

Oh yes! I totally agree! The pressure to make things for social media and the temptation to go along with topics and a style that you think will do well with the algorithm is real! I'm glad the little pep talk was a little bit helpful!

I so agree with what you said. I had a similar story because of which I gave up drawing for about two years. And even now, having returned to it, I constantly worry and doubt my style, because i think it's not that appiling to majore audience on social media. Because of this, I often try other styles and only get confused in the process.
And returning to the topic of video, this exactly what I needed to hear today to lif my spirt, thank you, glad i found it.

Could not agree more! honestly I think when the western industry pushes people away just because "ew anime" it's denying people with real talent and heart. and it over saturates the market with the same looking shows and art that isnt appealing. Art has always been something I do from the heart, Ever since I was a little girl.
My uncle was and is a 3D modeler, artist and art director, He's been my biggest inspiration to draw since I could remember. I remember going on Ms paint and drawing these terrible cats but I felt so proud that I was doing something that I loved. It evolved so prominently through out my childhood that I didn't even realize it was more then a hobby.

My drawing style in the past was like anime and manga... big eyes and all that. When i start informatical engineering in a university i stop draw for so long, even got burnt out because of how much i stressed out. But after i tried to do some rendom live sketch, somehow my lines not awkward anymore and so different from how i draw in the past, now my drawing kinda realistic but still have a manga spice. Now that i got some free time, i shall draw more and explore this new style
