Yup. Such a shame retail neglects actual collectors who want to keep their pulls. Everything is geared toward the secondary market, which in turn has killed the hobby.

Hangers and fat packs are the only thing I have any luck with.

Yeah they're dead pulls, but I'd love to pull one of a player I liked. Still is so unfortunate that they just aren't worth anything anymore. Gotta be the cheapest 1/1s around

@ricog2343 I love them too, man. People are so caught up in the monetary value of things... like, it's a 1/1... but people gripe cause it's bot worth $1,000. It's everything thats wrong with the hobby.

I’m out here having a blast with the flagship paper and people act like they’re above it, will only chase the most expensive products or the “hot” products of the year and typically 1-3 names max. Meanwhile I’m ripping as many packs as my heart desires for a reasonable price and I’m loving all the cool inserts etc. makes the collecting fun, and as you said a 1/1 is a 1/1

Coors Field is amazing. It’s the only other ballpark I’ve been to besides Petco Park. The view of the sunsets over the mountains during evening games is spectacular
8 hangers against a jumbo box today. Hangers rolled over the jumbo big time.
Both had 1 auto and 2 mem cards. The jumbo had 2 numbered, the hangers had 7.
Unfortunately nothing that got a "woohoo".
I once bought two hangers and got a black parallel in each... And they were the same card. Can't remember the name, it was an Astros rookie pitcher in 2022 Topps.
I literally stared at the second one in disbelief for like 5 minutes. Too bad it wasn't a better player.
@@snerdterguson I bought a hobby box of optic baseball in 2022. Guaranteed 4 cards numbered 7 or less. All 4 were the same guy.
Printing plates of non stars are like 10-20 lol the homefield really saved this but it would have been really rough without

display box is another option if you're looking to open every format. Around 70 bucks for 20 packs I believe, just no guaranteed hit. I've only got loose packs from one, never the whole box. Great vid as always Jabs!

Bought a hobby box of series 2 this weekend. So disappointed again with 2024 boxes. No auto, just a relic, and ended up with 22 doubles out of one box. My son and I like to break boxes to complete 1 set each year and get some inserts. Didn't even land a Shohei. Only decent card was a Yamamoto. Like the design but not how Topp collate the boxes.

Nice two packs. The rest, meh. Sort of the way it goes, though. But Monsters are out, and they seem to have about 8 foilboards per box versus the average of 4 in S1. Also seem to produce about 3-4 numbered cards from the videos I've seen. Have 3 inbound at the end of the week. Supposed to have tried 5 hangers today, but Fedex never showed. My local WalMart did a restock, but n S2 product at all. Just some Bowman blasters. So don't think I'll be able to find Chrome Platinum blasters any more. Only got 2, now the tag is gone, sucks being in a small town.
These are bad even though you pulled two case hits in them but I take it one of the nine stadiums you haven’t been to is the Roger’s centre in Toronto
The odds are against you in fat packs, got it lol. Pales in comparison to the fat packs that were on clearance, almost every pack had a numbered card.
I remember seeing a bin completely full of 2018 series 2 fat packs, marked down to $3.39
I bought 5 and got a couple Shohei base rookies and a couple inserts but nothing crazy.
One of my biggest regrets in collecting is I didn't go to the ATM to take out a couple hundred bucks to buy the lot. Had to have been 75+ packs there.

This is a bit OT. I just hate the fact that in order to complete the entire base set you need to buy more than one Jumbo.
I used to be able to build the entire base set from one Jumbo in the past, now it’s impossible and feels like a huge slap in the face to collectors.

I actually prefer to not get a full set from one box. Don't get me wrong, I want to get most of them. But about 10-15 cards short is perfect. Gives me something to either seek out as a single or something to chase if I want to open more packs.
There's something terrific about pulling a common base card that was the last you needed for your set. Feels almost as good as pulling a monster hit.

2024 Topps Update will have Skenes, which will make the value of Series 2 fall like a stone by then.
Update being good doesn't drop series 2 prices. Yamamoto rookies will still be highly desired in the community.

He also opens way more packs than most people so he is bound to encounter a fair number of hits
That is true, but think of the odds of pulling just 1 one of one.
I’ve been to Coors field. Was fairly disappointed. Little history & the biggest thing is you couldn’t see the Rocky Mountains anywhere. My favorite part about PNC is the skyline. I feel like Rockies fans were robbed of such an amazing view they could have had. But the facilities are nice and clean, just nothing that has me ever wanting to come back. I’m only 15 parks in to see them all, but it’s hard to beat the PNC view
Anthony Rendón 1/1 is crazy he has been really bad since 2020 sadly
1/1 is almost always cool.
But printing plates are the least cool 1/1s.
And Anthony Rendon is probably the worst possible one to pull. Does anybody collect him or like him? He's pretty universally disliked by fans.
I'd be shocked if anyone was willing to pay a buck for it. Not that someone wouldn't. Just that I would be shocked anyone would spend a cent on an Anthony Rendon card.
