Great match up. I would go for the 1792 in general , but the 1792 being a single barrel may have an advantage over a mass produced and ‘smoother’ 1920. Both great value though. Very underrated channel, keep up the good work. Cheers!
I agree, the single barrel definitely benefits from having more character. Truthfully in my 1920 review I went a little crazy because I do really love that bourbon so wanted to test it against another. Amazing value on both completely agree. Appreciate the comment and the kind words my friend, cheers to you! 🥃
Great comparison! 1920 was the first bourbon that I fell in love with, but 1792 Full Proof is also in my top 5 findable favorites. Glad I stumbled across your channel
Sounds exactly like me with how I got into bourbon. I’m still more of a scotch guy at heart but I drink every thing and these 2 bourbons are fantastic definitely. Glad you did as well my friend, cheers! 🥃
Other than laziness/lack of equipment no. HOWEVER, I did get a pipette from Mrs. GC for my birthday. So I’ll be adding water section to higher proof whiskies, probably around mid 50% and up. Not all whiskies will respond well to water so I’ll keep it in the higher proofs going forward but it’s coming!
The 1792 FP is fantastic in my opinion, very caramelly and fruity. Still trying to decide which of the whiskey row series to pick up or just wait till i see a Old Forester SiBBS.
Yep the fruit is astounding for the 1792, really enjoy it. I’ve heard good things about the new Old Forester 10 year they just added, but you can’t go wrong with SiBBS ever! Cheers 🥃
In my country Old Forester 1920 costs 175$. In turn 1792 Full Proof costs 200$. I think the price of both bottles is too high. But if I find one for less than 120$, I'll buy it. Greetings 👍🥃

Nice head to head matchup. Really like 1920, yet to try 1792 FP. Now it is a must.
Yes I’m a MASSIVE 1920 fan. But man the 1792 really surprised me, I hope you can find the full proof and enjoy it as much as I do, cheers! 🥃

GC, I notice you don't add water/use a pipette when sampling whiskies. Is there a reason for that?
