Thanks for the effort you spent making this - tutorial videos are tough, but your level of explanation works really well for what I need! You make the world a better place. =)
You're really a great teacher! Your examples make things so very clear :) At one point of the video you say prefabs can go anywhere ruclips.net/video/EyhRXMkW1ns/видео.html however you don't explain how the game object becomes a prefab. You just put it in the prefab folder and voila it's a prefab. Is it because Unity does that by default for a Prefab asset folder? (How would you make it a prefab in another folder?)
At the 5th minute of video I hit the like and subscribe button without hesitating.. Wow, I've never seen anybody who is able to explain any subject that much easy, simple and clear. You have a natural talent on teaching. Thanks a lot for effort and the video... Congrats..
I recently just started taking basic game development class for the summer and our next lesson is about prefabs. I wanted to do some advance learning so this was very helpful for a student like me thank you! You somehow made the video fun and informational simultaneously :))
can you also click a prefap in your scene and turn it into a prefab variant (in a more direct way that manually unpacking the prefab and saving it as a new prefab, and then replacing the object with the prefab)
I don't that is really the right reason to use a Prefab variant- I would think they are really for adding separate scripts in addition what the main prefab has. You really should just have a cylinder prefab and then have set a green material for that prefab instance. Prefab = template- people can understand that. I think the analogies are really not that helpful.
u talk to me like i am baby and i so happy because my brain is baby and thank you for making it so clear and you seem fun to watch :) also u seem like a good teacher.
Thanks, young Todd Howard!!

in my unity editor, open prefab option isn't there, it's just open, and it opens up into a different view only 3d software
Very bad tutorial, 6minutes and still dont see how u create and whats diff between prefab and prefab variant and why u do certain things.
When I drag a prefab onto the scene, it appers as a clone that is not connected in any way to the prefab. What am I doing wrong?
so with variant you can only change the material and settings?
just what i needed to know thanks¡¡
Worst hat making tutorial ever! 1/10!

That juice story got me off guard at first 😂

A better source for learning would be the detailed unity manual
thank you sir.

You didn't even talk about how deleting a prefab from assets and re-adding it resets the position of all the prefabs in the scene.
Why would he?
Dont watch him high
Thanks! Very helpful... And I just have to say, you look a bit like the actor Alexander Lawther in this video.
