I also like your sense of humour ! In my opinion, the Boya sounds better. In the 100 meters test it was better. I really like it that you are using both microphones throughout the video.

I know from my own experience that the Rode Wireless Go 2 is sometimes a bit tricky to use.
Not every camera and not every video editing software supports 2 audio channels so some basic knowledge is necessary to be able to use the full sound of these excellent microphones.
A very detailed video on the subject and a very good comparison of the two microphones.

On the wireless mic thing, I started to use my old Smartphone (ZTE Axon 7) as a wireless portable digital recorder, I synch up the audio with the recording camera, and I have freedom of movement without the wires.
I had originally tripped over a thin extension cord I had and pulled the wire from the end connector... with this system, with the recorder being with the microphone, distance is no issue now... but I have a lot more experimenting to do with it.

Which one is with noisy places
I was very impressed with the audio quality of the BOYA setup, unfortunately I managed to get a tiny bit of snow in the receiver when I was outside making my review video, so it broke apparently by water damage 😜 But great comparison with the RØDE wireless setup 😊

Hello Celine, I am from Bangladesh. I shoot with my smartphone so I recently bought Boya-XM6. While using BOYA, my phone (REDMI Note 9) can't record audio without third party apps like "Open Camera". I prefer to use my default phone camera rather than any apps. Then I bought Samsung Galaxy A12, now I can record (audio+video) by default phone camera. BUT now I am facing different problem with BOYA. I usually record clips like 10 mins, 20 mins & so on. Some clips are fine BUT some clips has no audio, that's very strange & awkward situation for me. I have to re-shoot that segment. May be my Boya-XM6 isn't working properly with my phone (Samsung Galaxy A12) ... Can you Please HELP me to find out this problem. Otherwise I have to switch for RODE. Please suggest me what should I do?

Какую оптимальней выбрать ?
Fascinating. I love the idea of the Rode having the backup recording option. You never REALLY know if your plugged into your phone, or digital device correctly because you literally cannot MONITOR what's going in to the camera. You can monitor whats going in before it goes in, but not whats being recorded, there for I never lavs on a phone. You have to unplug and playback the video to know for sure. Once you do that you plug back in, and you now canceled out your test of what is 'working'! So for the rode thats great! BUT! The Boya actually sounds better in all your tests. The Rode has a echo type feedback. It could be the settings you had but but by far the the Boya was better. I wish you had used the lave mics as a test too in the interview. Using a ugly box on your shirt is lazyness... which I can be very lazy. And get the need. I have thousands of dollars in mics. Its SOOOO disappointing all the digital camera options wont let you MONITOR the input sound. As 'smart' as cameras are I yet to see it. Rrrrr. Great review! You saved my a lot of money. I think I'm going with Boya for my insta360 3X. There is a BOYA 2.4GHz 4-Channel Wireless Microphone System but dosent look the same as yours, wonder if you can plug in a mic to that? Thank you! XOXO

Hey Ryan, it all depend on your budget and the purpose of your videos. Hahaha I’m not helping I know. Let’s say you want to make interviews and have very little time to check again the sound, the Rode is a good choice as you can decide to record the sound as a backup. If you don’t have that kind of video to do and are short in your budget the Boya is wonderful! I can’t tell you what I prefer because I still have both here at home 😆And depending on my videos I use one or the other

Hey Salar, I’m sorry to hear about the noise! I absolutely didn’t have that problem but it’s true that you have to change some settings for best sound results. Start by adjusting the transmitter and receiver level. Start with the levels all the way down for the transmitter, receiver, and channels on your mixer. Let me know how it goes

Hey Salar, no not every time , I tried 3 times and the interference happened one time. At my friend’s house (with wifi on) nothing happened.
Thank you for your respond. I asked from boya company for this noise problem. They answered to me we should keep transmitter and receiver away from each other to more than 1 foot and keep away them from wifi more than 3 feet to get best result and not involve any conflicts between waves.

You went to Miami in hurricane 🌀 season! 😱😄 Great video Celine! I found a bit better the sound of the Rode, but the Boya, as you said offers more things! This is a difficult decision, cause I like Rode’s design as well. My first lavalier mic was a Boya and then I changed to Rode, and then I changed again as you know, but the idea of wireless mics, in spite of the fact that wireless can be tricky cause of interference, is super appealing to me and I was thinking about that for the near in the future, so…., this video comes right in the perfect moment. Even if you’re filming yourself outdoors, you don’t want to bring your boom mic! Thank you Celine. (You had a good workout by the way lol!)
Hahaha yes we went to Miami and it was so warm and nice!! We left Miami to be blocked at London Heathrow because of the snow storm (with just jeans, shirt and sweater) for 24 hours! Great review and you have very good English pronunciation . Somewhat bizarrely in English the reduced word mic is usually pronounced with the word "mike" as in the pop group "Mike and the Mechanics". I hope I spelt that groups name correctly. Of course for non native English speakers they understand you perfectly because it really should be pronounced as you say it. Of course there is an English singer Mick Huknell and his first name is pronounced as you say mic. Confused yes that is the English language for you. I lived in France for 5 years and boy did I struggle with learning French. All the best

Hi beautiful. I was actually thinking about buying this boya xm6 s2, but after you said that it gets disturbed and interfere with wifi signals and audio becomes unusable, i have changed my mind.
my wife RUclips channel is about shops and markets reviews which is mostly indoors. and we need a wireless mic. can't afford Rode go2. please please tell me what shall we do. does this really becomes bad near wifi signals ?

The Boya is a good wireless microphone, just make sure to listen to the recording before packing everything up. Sometimes you get noises or cuts and you’ll have to start again.

Hey ! No I didn’t have the problem with the Rode although they both use the same channel. But as you can notice, with the right settings had no problems with the Boya afterwards

Hey Stephane, I haven’t tried the XM4 but as far as I can see here (in my opinion) are the differences : the size, the weight, battery life. Maybe there are other differences. Are you happy with the XM4?

Following on from my comments below , I have the RODE Wireless Microphone. It does NOT have interference issues that the BOYA has. But without interference, the BOYA sounds good.

Am just seeing this for the first time...the Rode is less Noise and ambiance...but the Boya has Ambiance a lot
Rode Go 2's sound is definitely better, but they have quite significant price difference, especially if buying Boya with only one receiver.
But question about Rode Go 2 - does it have the problem with wi-fi like Boya?
And question I have about Boya - does receiver need to be attached to something like camera or phone, or it can work as independent recording device?
I need something that can record audio in pair with action camera while not connected to said camera, for like when camera is on helmet and mic inside the helmet.
Hey ☺️ Yes the Rode also is on the 2.4 giga hertz range. I didn’t have problem with the wifi but I can have problem with another device. You never know with interferences. It happens to both brands. And to answer your second question : no, unfortunately you have to plug it to a camera, phone, computer in order to record the sound. There isn’t an internal hard drive that allows boya to record the sound on its own.

It depends how much you have. With the boya , quality is good and you have more accessories in the box than with the Rode. With Rode you’ll have to buy the accessories but the quality is great!

The sound quality of the boya mic is far better than the rode go . Rode is just overly hyped by people

Boya has its own cable included in the pack (TRS to TRRS). But Rode doesn't have it, so I tried to use Boya's cable with the Rode (and my iphone) and it didn't work. I looked online and some people say that you have to buy the cable from Rode (but I don't understand what difference it makes as they are both TRS to TRRS cables).
The Rode sounds obviously better. Thanks for this test Celine.

Sorry for my late reply. If you are on a low budget , the Boya is a great choice as you can hear the quality. If you want to have a backup with the recording , the Rode is a good idea.

Globalement dans la rue ça a été.
J’ai aussi reçu ces boya. D’ailleurs, ça fait trois semaines qu’ils me servent pour mes vidéos.
Le truc effectivement très gênant et que si j’utilise mon iPhone en wifi avec mon canon M50, le son est coupé en permanence.
Si je coupe le wifi entre l’iPhone et le M50, le problème disparaît.
Autre chose, le son stéréo n’est pas super. Il faut que fasse une manip dans Final Cut Pro.
Cependant, comme le son est enregistré directement, ça fait un fichier de moins à traiter pour la vidéo.
J’avoue que j’ai mis un peu de temps pour reconnaître les chansons, surtout la deuxième 😉
On se rend compte que les rode sont meilleurs. L’écart de prix semble justifier.

Il va falloir que je passe y jeter un œil. Oui les interférences peuvent être multiples. Heureusement que tu as trouvé l’origine du problème. Mais en écoutant et regardant ta dernière vidéo je n’ai pas senti ce problème de stéréo (mais tu as sûrement fait la manipulation sur Final Cut).
Oui comme je chante très mal je préférais citer les paroles lors du test🤣mais la 2eme chanson je ne connaissais plus les paroles (alors que plus jeune j’étais incollable). Merci d’être passé Stephane 🤗bisous et belle semaine à toi
