    Loved this era of Escort. I had a 1.6LX from new with a grey metallic top half and Matt grey bottom. Looked amazing.

    Great video, I do like a Mk4 Escort. Im also a big fan of keeping stuff like this original. I was surprised at how nippy it was and long geared like you said. 👍

    This is cool as hell, I own a 88 Escort Gl here in Brasil, same color as yours but it´s a 2door.We didn´t had the mk4 4 door until 1992. And our engines were inherited from Renault, we called them CHT.

    The colour a d d 's to the car, - back in those days the "New Quartz Gold", - or "Nimbus Grey" colours usually was presented along with top range versions !

    Vauxhall Astra CDi equivalent was a much superior car back in the day. However your car is a less rare survivor car and quite lovely .

    Good condition and well done repairs but have to admit, the colour is not my cup of tea.

    Great car in great condition 👍 Depends what you mean value wise - what it’s worth v what you could possibly get for it. I think it’s worth £5k but I reckon you could get up to £7.5 for it given mileage and condition. Anyway, really nice 👍

      5 to 7.5 for a Mk4 Escort Ghia in an iffy colour combo? Are you crazy??? The car is nice yes, but it's no minter.

      It's a ghia so probably 5K pluss, strangely estates seem to make more at the moment 🤔 not as much as a 2 door but around 5K for 4 door Ghia is pretty near the mark IMHO.
      Amazing cos I used to pay £100 MAX for them when I owned my escort breakers back in the 90s 😂😂

    Your thermostat housing is faulty the temperature should be half way there is a ball bearing in there that gets stuck and lets cold water in from the radiator

    • @Dirt-Diggler
      @Dirt-Diggler 7 месяцев назад

      What's the bypass pin in the thermostat got to do with the the housing?

    • @Joe-ug1vu
      @Joe-ug1vu 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Dirt-Diggler it ain’t the bypass pin on the stat there is a ball bearing in the housing itself that sticks
