I personally really love both Flex tanks, especially the 15 gallon...I have the 15 gallon which houses my Endlers...I like it OK. Grows my Crypts really well but yeah, trying to grow anything beyond low light plants is going to require more lighting for sure. What I love most about your videos is your sharing of your observations over time, I love that sort of reflection...so thank you Sean...I enjoy getting your videos a lot. I would love the Flex 32 gallon but my house is only 250 square feet...I would have to get rid of my drum set...not happening!

This one is a little shallow for deep deep substrate but you can still make a great tank that way. I picked one that was a bit taller so I’d have more room. I’ve had some success with the natural method. Even when they are doing well it’s less ornamental and more everything everywhere all at once. Totally nature on auto pilot. But it’s all about what you want to see in there. And it can be really nice.

Thanks to you, I bought a MegaFlex to add to my Flex 9 and school of Specs, but I can't set it up just yet, as we are turning the old dining room into a FISH ROOM! Great problem to have, also means I've got more time to plan and learn from people like you. I've got most of the stuff for it (substrate, wood, rocks, maybe some of the plants, some of the fish), but am still debating whether it'll be for my two fantail goldfish or for the betta sorority I'm planning (have the tetras & corydoras for it already in other tanks). I've got to find someplace to get the second light bar for it though, not as easy to track down in Canada...

I gotta say the flex line are awesome. Traditional rectangular tanks seem boring after having a flex. I myself have the 15 gallon after graduating from the 9. For the space that I live being so small, I enjoy the 15. To my amazement it has been successful. I've had a few tanks and my flex has been the best. The filtration and design for a beginner works beautifully. I wish I could trust the weight of the mega flex. I live on a second floor apartment and I worry with my 15 that the weight will buckle the supports in the floor. I keep a camera on when I am not home because I am so paranoid it will go through the floor. Hoping some day to upgrade to the mega, but for now I strongly suggest anyone interested in the hobby to grab the 15 gallon if you can. You can have a good amount of fish and space, and if you educated yourself you can have a rewarding setup. I've had mine for about 2 months now and no noise no issues only good things. 👍

I have two buces in my 10-gallon shrimp tank that have done *quite* well, just attached to pieces of driftwood in the water column. I don't know if it's a difference in the quality of the stock, but what's working for the buces in that tank is making sure there are plenty of micronutrients, feeding diverse foods for the shrimp (means diverse poops), and moderate to high light. In a few months of having them, the buces have nearly doubled in size. I don't run CO2 or regularly dose any macronutrients (if I see signs of deficiency I'll dose to address that).

The algae in your tank are known as Staghorn algae. It may have come along with the plants, but it may also be pollution, poor water circulation. The cause must therefore be tackled, not only the algae being cut away. Soil and bin cleaning, your filter is also part of it. Ensure good water distribution. Fertilizing is good, over-fertilization with rotting as a result is not. Good luck with your bin!

Have to admit when you first scaped the mega flex I thought you could have done so much more. But now it's all grown out it looks brilliant! I ended up buying a mega flex off the back of your video and absolutely love it. What do you think to the pump flow? Strong enough for you? If i knew a perfect 1000lph pump that would fit perfectly in the back chamber I'd be tempted to upgrade. I'm only using the one light plants seem to do fine but fluval customer services recommended never going over 75% in white red blue green. Said it will cause an algae bloom?! Anyway keep up the amazing work! Look forward to future updates

I really enjoyed this video. Especially about the plants and the fish used. I would like to get the Flex 32 gallon but they are hard to find and it looks to be sold by vendors at $300 plus. When you throw in the additional light bar and stand putting it in the $600-$700 range. I think I will pass on that and budget for something smaller in cost and size.
