  • Nestled amidst a shimmering expanse of water, this house is a true aquatic haven.
Imagine if you have a big plot of land, and you dont need it to be more than a single storey, how would you build it? Todays episode let us bring you through this home, called the R House, designed by Dr. Ken Yeang
Ken Yeang is an architect, ecologist, planner and arthor from Malaysia, best known for his ecological architecture and eco masterplans that have a distinctive green aesthetic. He pioneered an ecology-based architecture, working on the theory and practise of sustainable design.
Some would maximise the build up value and build a mansion, some choose to live modestly and contented, what are your preference?

Single loading and creative use of space appropriately is so under rated compared to the typical need to build multi storey "palatial" homes with excessive stacking of levels serviced by elevators, stairs and endless corridors that have overcome the plot leaving little to no setback, little to no garden, barely a driveway or garage where the self entitlement is to leave the cars on the street. This house serves as a home where the essentials are met without the need for pretension.

This is my favorable house layout without stairs and just laying on a one single piece of land. Practical and easily accessible. Thanks to design seeds to cover this but I think I have come across this property some couple of years ago.

  • @lorenacharlotte8383

I don’t like it. House architecture is rather plain and ugly. Swimming pool area is narrow and too close to house walls. No safe for any family with little children. This is far of being a green house but a cluttered design construction eating the land.
If I had that land space I would built up a higher house with two floors and attic. That would give much larger free space for swimming pool area, garden and home made horticulture. Architecture design will be accordingly to surrounding nature enhancing its beauty, blending well with it. Large Attic area will be having a vast library, relaxing area, terrace area, lots of natural light coming from crystal wall door in the terrace. Part of the attic ceiling design would be having a large window aperture so that one could contemplate the night stars....

"Pool too close to the house" is because the intention was to create floating pods.

different people has different vision of their dream house. honestly, i love this idea. i hate staircase . this idea kinda luxury villa in Bali. the only difference i would make is to add proper roof + more plants :P
this type of investment u must think about ur day when u r old, u still want to climb stairs?? what if u incapable anymore? the kids not gonna be forever a little kids, but u will get old someday :))

@@azuriaalice9127 ; Of course, everyone has a different vision of his/her dream house. I never said otherwise. I merely expressed why I don’t like the design of the house in the video. I really like watch architecture designs and interior designs. It’s an art. There was a program in UK TV some years ago with the tittle “Great Designs” or something like that, in which every week it was presented from scratch the making of a “dream house” by someone. It was a Wow program. The best program in architecture design and interior design I’ve ever watched so far.

some of us has dream & looking for inspiration to build our dream house on our piece of land. u probably don’t have that dream, maybe that is why u do not understand. but don’t need to be salty about it. and u don’t even see their owner, only the host & the architect of the house. which is good information for alot of us to refer . not every architect has the same vision.
