ill admit my insides died a little when gkmc wasn't on the list. also a bit disappointed black midi - schlagenheim wasn't either. but despite this, this was a great list! been a viewer since about 2017 and the fact that you put so much time into introducing the world to great, underrated albums is amazing. you are definitely an inspiration to me and many others and you were honestly a big reason why i'm so into music today. thank you melon man. keep it up in the 2020s, eh? also shoutouts to c418 and farrah!! you all definitely deserved a place on the list
I honestly don't really get the positive reception for Schlagenheim tbh, to me it just sounds like the most basic fucking math rock ever with weak-ass production that has no punch whatsoever lol
I think he was limiting it to one album per artist, he gave GKMC a 9 when he reviewed it so if he didn't do that it would have definitely made the list but obviously he picked TPAB over GKMC
it's such an odd experience, but a fascinating experience. not to mention the pretty personal angle of the album as well. it's so one-of-a-kind that i think it at least deserves an honorable mention.
Minecraft alpha is beautiful. The way it can seamlessly flow in the background while playing but can also really mellow out downtime is something to admire.
Not including Björk's Post just because it's "not from the 2010's" and "came out in 1995" really shows your underlying misogyny, Mr. Melon. Disappointed. Reported, liked and subscribed!

He gave a slightly positive review (6/10) but clearly it grew on him and he thought it was an important release of the 2010's. Anthony explained in a new video on the Fantano channel that he thought TPAB and GKMC were similar enough that he didn't want to include both to highlight other albums and artists.
This list was really good. It made me really nostalgic about when I first started watching ur videos. It's crazy that this list marks the end of an era, as well as a great decade of music. Kinda sad Worry by Jeff Rosenstock didn't make the list but other than that I thought it was a pretty good list. Here's to another decade my sweet Melon!
Actually, Beach House's Teen Dream was made in July 2009, just released in early 2010. I'm pretty sure this is similar for a lot of other albums, especially those released in 2010
I’ve been watching since 2011. I give so much credit to TND for broadening my musical palette for such a long stretch of my adult life. Even if I don’t always agree with the conclusions, I don’t think I could possibly quantify all the intangible ways that the videos on this channel have guided me to new musical horizons, sub genres, and talent I otherwise never would have discovered. If you read this, thank you so much for what you do. :)
A genuine heartfelt comment that isn't just one of the ten memes that have circulated this channel for the last 5 years? I thought I'd never see the day
I agree with everything you said. I was such a music normie almost my whole life, but when I started watching Anthony back in 2013 I started rapidly expanding my musical boundaries and discovered so much amazing music, just so much. I genuinely can't thank Anthony enough for how much he's helped me in discovering so many of my favorite artists.
I first heard of him back in 2014! At first I didn’t really watch him all that much until 2016 came around when I decided to view his stuff just for shits and giggles! I mean, video games and other medias weren’t interesting anymore, so it’s not like music could be any better! Then I heard him review Danny Brown’s Atrocity Exhibition! Then I listened to it, and that was the end of that viewpoint!
I wouldn’t do it but I respect you putting “Jones BBQ & Foot Massage” in every spot in the top 10. Its not actually an album, or even technically a single... but hey true love is true love ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@thecinematicmind "I especially love the 4-minute raw cut of Cock And Ball Torture session featuring Corey Feldman himself. Such an intensive left-field take on what music is supposed to be, especially within the gritting context of Feldman's harrowing addiction to BDSM."

Aight Fantano memes aside, imma be real for you with a second, You have no idea how grateful how I am for you to be reviewing music this past decade. No I wasn’t here from the start and no I didn’t know who you were watching these videos at first but man did I grow to liking and eventually loving your content, and overtime just you. I watch you when im sad, happy, or just want a dang music recommendation. Both you end ARTV really have shaped my music taste today and honestly I can’t thank you enough. I mean just looking at the sheer size of this list coming from ONE man and the diversity of it, I am just in awe. I know this a bit long-winded but I usually don’t comment very often and I just have to say you have my humblest respects Anthony, keep doing what your doing for as long as you can, cause I’ll be there till the end, thank you fantano for the past 10 years, and here’s to another amazing 10. P.S. THANK YOU for that #7 Kids See Ghosts feature, I was starting to panic! P.S.S. Guessed that #1 ;) of course well deserved, and I humbly agree P.S.S.S love the whole list, and NO TRENCH? Na I’m jk ik it was good but there def was much better
Luxaber yeah but I think TPAB was Kendrick’s obvious better record in my opinion and seeing as how he wanted to include limited amount of releases from certain artists and diversify, I see why. Same thing goes with the powers that B, just a slightly bit better, but of course both those records are still extraordinary in their own right.
Naman Sheth yeh I agree that tpab was a better album, but having 2 Kendrick albums is fine. And it makes sense that bottomless pit wasn’t there, since there was already 2 Death Grips albums, so that’s fair
Anthony, I just wanted to thank you for being such a consistent source of musical discovery for me in the past ten years. Congratulations on 2 million subscribers and thank you for your service. This list is amazing and dense and so full of blood/sweat/tears that I can't wait to dive in later!
brandonksmithmusic I think because it’s not easy to fuse to genres together. Like on his worst albums a lot of them are also fusions. So I think he gives merit to artists who are able to pull it off
@@sephy595 Nope. It can evolve all it wants to. I'm sure I listen to more styles of music than you've even heard of but genre merging records are not for me. Funk combined with metal is the worst. Rap combined with rock is a close second. When music naturally evolves that's one thing, obviously I'm not against that process. It's when it's purposely and forcefully jammed together it's lazy, clumsy and weak.
