Chelsea isn't close to winning the league, so all Maresca needs is to qualify for the Champions League and show that the team will continue to improve under him.
Maybe if Chelsea stick it out with Maresca he'll eventually get the team to compete,just as Arsenal did with Arteta

Honestly, I think we will Finish between 10th and 8th. We haven’t addressed the squads shortcomings from last year, we are creating new ones by selling some of our best performing players for profit whilst taking gambles on kids and championship players. Then on top of all of that I don’t see the tactical vision sitting perfectly with the vast majority of our squad. I think it will be difficult season, I think we could even get a few surprise results. But we don’t have good depth in quality. One or two injuries and we are in big trouble. That’s my thoughts on this coming season.

The Sarri era that let us finally see a best version of hazard. Basically got us top 4 the season after, the players at first was basically just playing his style through muscle memory. Then when Lampard ideas came through a few months in we stalled and it was all downhill. Pool wasn't close to as exciting as prime City, The get the ball wide and cross over and over is boring.

It is plan A or nothing. Despite Leicester winning the league last year it was utterly dull. We limped over the line because he almost fluffed an 18 point lead and in the end finished 1 point above Ipswich. It was only because Leeds and Ipswich faltered that Leicester managed to hang on to top spot.
As soon as Poch went I was praying Chelsea got hoodwinked by the hype and came for him. I’ll be amazed of he sees out the season.

As much I was disappointed by the sacking of poch, and underwhelmed by the appointment ofmaresca, it’s way to early to put pressure on the manager, let him have a few games in the prem and see if he’s style gets imprinted on the team, if not then it would be interesting to see if he has a plan b.
Hope he gets it right with osimhen being confirmed by ornstien as a chance of getting him with loan option to buy after giving them lukaka. palmer, enzo, caicedo, cucurella and potentially osimhen coming into the preseason squad, I think things will change on preseason.
I do however think this season will be much like last as sacking poch only put us back to step 1.
Enzo Maresca doesnt have a plan B. If you watched Leicester last season in the Championship he only had one playing style and he stuck to it, regardless of results. Leicester nearly bottled promotion because of Marescas stubbornness.
@@YTA5690 I agree he didn’t then I’m not disputing that I’m saying being Leicester manager with championship quality players it may have been difficult to change a system that was faulting for a bit. At Chelsea you have players that can adapt to multiple play styles (you would hope anyway with the amount spent). All I’m saying give the guy time.

I can’t even blame the manager. The ownership brought him in, knowing full well that he plays possession-based football and has no plan B. They didn’t stop to think if that style fits our players. They rushed in and gave the man a multi-year contract. Now, they’ll sack him in December and start a new madness.

Best managers are adaptable and pragmatic not dogmatic. Pep and Ancelloti have shown flexibility to achieve results. I hope Maresca will keep an open mind and adapt his style to the strengths of his players and weaknesses of his opponents
