Paddle Your Surfski Out Through The Surf Zone

Rod and I are still new to Surfski paddling and we are slowly but surely increasing our skills and confidence. There is just one protected inlet in our area (Masonboro Inlet, Wrightsville Beach, NC) and it is a 45 minute drive one way. Therefore, we have been forced to enter and exit the ocean through the surf zone. As a beginner, entering the ocean through the surf can be intimidating, but we are finding it rewarding when the winds are right for a downwind run.
In this video, we picked a day where the surf was relatively small and used some of the techniques and skills that we have learned over the last year and a half of paddling Surfski. We are enjoying this sport even during this beginner phase.
