The Gulp Minnow catches everything it seems. Never tried the Crappie Shad before. Those big gill are a blast. Amazing that tiny difference made all the difference so to speak. The purple in those gills always reminds me why purple anything works. 51 degree QPer. Enjoyed it. Fish on!
Our crazy weather down south. I live in north Alabama and it was 80 all week and then 20 with 5 inches of snow Friday night. Back to 70 and above yesterday and today.
I have pretty good luck with the Bobby Garland baby shad baits when I'm fishing for crappie & panfish. They're on sale at Bass Pro now (not sponsored, obviously, just sharin' the good news) and it's a rare day that I bring them out and don't catch anything. The MoGlo are my go-to right now because the water where I fish is really stained. Enjoyed the video, keep'm comin'.
Went out this morning on errands stopped by the marina for the fun of it. Parking is clear of snow but the river still solid and snow banks are still a good four feet tall, some time to go yet for us I’m afraid. Thanks for this one love the sound track in the background spring birds are calling out
Another great video Alex and some awesome fish!! And it's definitely nice to see the gulp minnows for the win!!! They're a great product that definitely catches fish. Thank you for sharing and always keeping it realistic!
That was a pretty good size Golden Shiner, I have caught small ones, but nothing that large. Gulp minnows for the win! Great video Alex, cannot wait for the water to warm up about 8 to 10 degrees.
Wow! looks so cold still. your awesome for still getting out and fishing. well that’s a no brainer the gulp minnow definitely did a lot better. great video. Have a great day Alex!
@@RealisticFishing Hopefully with in the next few weeks just getting over a snow storm we had here last week in NY. If I get out and catch what I normal do will send you pics if I can. Lakes and ponds are finally starting to unfreeze now.
Sup Alex. Great video. Love the comparison videos. I have a bait like. The crappie shad but use it on a real finesse drop shot. We love the gulp minnows, as you have shown now and over time never know what going to catch👍
Great multi species video! When fishing is tough Gulp is a go-to for me now too. You should try the 3 inch ones. I've caught 2 pound bass and channel catfish on them. Keep the content coming. Keep it realistic.
We know you’re catching fish when you pull those gulp! minnows and we’ve also never met a real contender. Great to see you catch something on these cold water days 👌
I always had great luck with the "Creme 2in Shad" in sliver and black. So cheap and caught more fish than the expensive baits. They don't seem to make them anymore and all any place seems to sell is the pre-rigged Creme Spoiler Shad.
Which lure to use, water temps, pre-front, post-front, fish union breaks . . . too much to figure out sometimes. This video duplicates my exact experience with the same baits. Gulp minnows worked for me last weekend to land some decent creek browns in highly pressured waters. Crappie minnows have landed some trout for me, but never any crappie. For panfish, though, I've gone almost exclusively with gnat-imitation flies.
Thanks so much for making your videos, I appreciate them. I especially like it when you take a bit more time to explain and show how you rig up your bait.
I just recently picked up some spoiler shads from cream theye 1.5 in swimbaits ever since I started watching you catch pan fish it really inspired me to get into it smaller baits
Nothing beats the Gulp! Minnow, not even a minnow! With a minnow you get a chance of a game fish but still a bluegill could steal it and that’s money down the drain. You did a video on how many one Gulp! can catch and I think it was over 20. I hope you’re doing well Alex with the chaos going on 🙏🏻
Yeah, Alex, I was thinking the same way you did; just that subtle difference in the shape, along with the scent, with the water temperature dropping that much. But, you didn’t give up, downsized presentation, and caught some nice fish on the tried and true! KIR!
Yeah the sudden drop in air temperature freezed the water as well, not fishing as much other than going to the small creek behind my apartment since I'm not willing to drive so much just to get skunked, especially when gas prices are on the rise. Glad to see you catching fish though.
Alex, is there a way to fish this lure horizontally? I don't know how exactly u tie your hook and if its possible with that rig.. I wonder if horizontal presentation would make a difference. Although i dont think it would make it a gulp..
Nice catches gulp minnow for the win. Going to be nice here today and finally off without snow or rain! I’m just going to relax cast and enjoy after choirs are done!
It would be interesting to see a comparison of the Crappie Shad vs. Crappie Shad with some Gulp! attractant sprayed on it. Another nice video, Alex. I find myself returning to your channel because most of the other channels have guys fishing waters I can't reach - or from boats I can only dream of. Your channel is more......................... Realistic!
Love your vids RF! Shattered my PB today at my local pond on a 5/0 sized owner flashy swimmer with a zoom bluegill flash 3.8 inch swimbait as a trailer. I have found that here in northwest AR they are busting on shad and bluegill in the mornings usually between 8-11 am. 4 lbs 10 ounces on the scale, KIR!
Looks like the Gulp minnow carried the day, nice catches. Hoping the recent warmer temps up here will help me break the skunk. Nice work out there brother!
I had hoped to catch anything this last weekend, but the weather played havoc for me. The wind was howling and the temperature dropped. I went to try a new spot, but stayed only a short time. The new location does look like it will have good potential, so I can't wait for the weather to improve so I can try again.
Howdy Alex, thanks for sharing your outings…I like your style! Went to a creek that feeds into the Missouri River and fished using crawlers…caught two 14” carp ( gonna eat em) and 5 channel cats 8 - 12 “ and they got to go home… that’s how it was for 1 hour, keepin it realistic Buddy ✌️
Another nice video! I don't know what a skip jack is. I never heard of those till I started watching your vids. I usually get my fishing supplies from Walmart. I haven't been able to find Gulp Minnows as yet, but I will keep looking. Thanks for sharing.
You ever fish with the little creme frisky frogs? I have been having some pretty good luck on those recently. Love your videos by the way!! Keep em coming 🤙🏽
I was out today here in Cleveland, OH .. Finally have some temps in the mid to upper 50s .. Fished a 3” Gulp on a Chartreuse mooneye jig, 1 very Lethargic largemouth, and that was all she wrote today .. How do you like that Mach 2 rod? I’m a big Lews fan, currently using their Laser Speed sticks , picked up for $20 a rod last year at Walmart .. can’t beat them for the price! … Love your channel man .. Keep it realistic! 🍻
Dang wish I was out fishing today but I'm out in the shop making more knives got lots of orders I do a ton of blacksmithing but I sure wish I was back on the water keeping it realistic
Congratulations to Jacob and Megan who were recently married. ❤

Congratulations 🎊🎈🍾 🎣
Congratilations!
The Gulp Minnow is always my go-to no matter what when nothing else works.
I think I’ve said this before, but the supportive cameo appearances of people from other channels, is brilliant.
Those Gulp minnows are magic for you! Tight Lines!

I think this was the last of the cold. Fish on!
The gulp definitely kicked ass... Let me know if you want to send me some lures..lol.. awesome vid bro

Gulp minnow saves the day! I always keep them in my bag. Great video!!!
I am a complete believer in gulp minnows. They never fail me. Thanks for the content!
Turned that day around with the gulp minnow. Congrats!
Never seen anything like the Shiners your pulling out of the water. Learned allot watching your down to earth videos! Just like real life!!!

Thanks for another honest fishing report.
Great video! You went from having almost no confidence to catching some really nice fish. That's how you keep it realistic!

Way to stay on the grind bro, with the weather the past few days all i did was organize tackle lol . Thank you for all the great content
That golden shiner was a big ol' boy!
Gulp minnows are great. I really enjoy your videos winter time is a hard time so when you do get one makes even better.
Nice. I have some GM from last summer good to know
Cant wait to go fishing again! Good stuff man! 🤙🤠
it might help to put those crappie shad in that jar of gulp minnows so they can marinate. enjoy watching your videos!
They are rubber, and it just rinses right off. Even after days of soaking
I never used the gulp minnow before until I saw your show. I’ve caught plenty of big bass on it. It’s was unbelievable.
Cool to see a golden shiner on the show!! Nice chunky gills and little surprise bass on that minnow. Def a cool note to end on. Much love and KIR!!!!
What didn't work today might work another day it happens to me as well even with live bait it depends what they are feeding on thanks fur the vid.
Great multi species video! When fishing is tough Gulp is a go-to for me now too. You should try the 3 inch ones. I've caught 2 pound bass and channel catfish on them. Keep the content coming. Keep it realistic.
I have tried them in other videos and caught small bass 👍
I have dropshot fished these 3in for a year and had success with them.
We know you’re catching fish when you pull those gulp! minnows and we’ve also never met a real contender. Great to see you catch something on these cold water days 👌
Live bait is the only contender so far. 👍
I always had great luck with the "Creme 2in Shad" in sliver and black. So cheap and caught more fish than the expensive baits. They don't seem to make them anymore and all any place seems to sell is the pre-rigged Creme Spoiler Shad.
Creme shows it on their website where you can order it direct. I also don't see it local to me (Walmart, Bass Pro).
Nice!!! It started out as a struggle but the persistence paid off 🎣🎣🎣🎣
It’s hard not to use the tried and true. Nice gills. Great video Alex.

glad you caught a few!
Thanks so much for making your videos, I appreciate them. I especially like it when you take a bit more time to explain and show how you rig up your bait.
I've thought about switching out to something like one of those Bobby Garland minnow types, but why mess with a good thing!
Awesome video love how you always seem to be able to find the fish
Love the gulp minnows. Never have fished with the crappie shad. I pretty much like all of the gulp baits I have tried. Good video.
Thats a great day of fishing! 👍
Tight lines is all that really matters to me. Thanks for sharing.
Great Job Alex!!! Keep the vids coming!
Congrats to Jason & Megan. Many happy wishes! Gulp minnows as usual for the win! KIR y’all.
Jacob 😀
@@mixedbrewing I didn’t have glasses on sorry
It's hopefully only getting warmer from here. Then bass city. KIR Alex 👍 Congratulations to the newly weds.
Definitely shape and scent!!!
great catches! I really need to try some minnows. Do you put a weight on it at all?
Yes, small pinch on sinker about 1 ft above the minnow
You know I've even tried those crappie shad and I didn't have any luck on them either. God bless buddy.
I just recently picked up some spoiler shads from cream theye 1.5 in swimbaits ever since I started watching you catch pan fish it really inspired me to get into it smaller baits

Just goes to show that you need to try different things.
Great stuff!
I like the bait comparisons.
More please!

Is that the one inch gulp or the two inch?? I like them both..
1 inch
Great video 📹 👍 that golden shiner was unexpected 👌 😳 😀
Couple of years ago you got me over my fear of “grown men don’t use bobbers”. Now I keep and use an assortment of floats.
Same luck I had today, caught a 9in horned creek cub and a 5 inch shinner. Either way though, still a great day at the bank.
Alex, is there a way to fish this lure horizontally? I don't know how exactly u tie your hook and if its possible with that rig.. I wonder if horizontal presentation would make a difference. Although i dont think it would make it a gulp..
On a drop shot it could be fished horizontal. But the gulp is being fished the same way and the fish dont mind.
Looks like it turned out to be a pretty good day to fish
