Thanks, I appreciate that sincerely. This isn’t a full time thing for me so I try to squeeze these in best I can. I shot this one like 4 weeks ago and just got to edit it.
Ive got minor time behind some 31a's super clean and crisp tubes. But the feature rich 31d's make them so mure more appealing for the application i will be using them in. How do the tubes compare to the 31 alphas are the as clear and crisp?
Performance is similar if the specs are similar but I've always found the unfilmed perform better in low light. I don't know if it's a difference in how the two mfgs test or whatever but that's my experience. If shopping them, definitely go for the 2376+ and if the seller lets you pick, go for higher SNR in the FOM calculation. I've seen quite a few Elbits with high resolution and lower SNR when it comes to the FOM. If that makes sense.
Any chance you'll do a breakdown on the RPO lenses? I like the Artemis and was thinking either that or the RNVG-A for my next set of dual tubes once i have thermals and a PVS14 out of the way
questions, is the power port a custom one or industry standard? are the housings available for custom builds and if so do they take PVS14 optics as an option. just curious as the housings have some nice features. thanks for your time video is very informative no one else has content on this NOD.
Unfortunately the port is proprietary to this goggle. Elbit actually doesn't make the housing but gets them from Theon Sensors in Europe. I don't believe the housings are available separately or at least not here in the USA I've never seen them. Perhaps if a dealer committed to a big order because EOTech is also using Theon housings in their systems. I also like the housing it has great features. The battery pack is a downer and possibly the front and rear sac lenses. I'm not sure if any dealers stock the sac lenses or how much they cost.
@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION the 1531's have been great that I got from TNVC. I got lucky and got 2 very similar tubes spec wise. I have been considering a 2nd set and was going back & forth about manual gain vs auto gain and RPO vs Carson glass. these 1st world issues have been kicking my ass...lol if you feel like doing any content on those subjects, I'm sure many of us would value your 2 cents.
@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION I’m curious if it takes Pvs-14 sac lenses and optics. I’ll have to try that on mine later down the road and see. I got the battery pack from Own the night, they seem to be able to get the Elbit 4 battery model versus the 2 battery model that the Eotech Bino nv-C uses. The cord is proprietary because it communicates with the battery pack to get its position relative to the goggles (for auto shutoff when you flip them up). It’s a high quality unit, I’ve been very happy with them so far.
Your description sounds like the flip up detection is going on inside the goggles. Is there a advantage to that, over having a end stop switch on the helmet, that disconnects the battery pack?
It is going on inside the goggle similar to other systems like the DTNVS & PVS-31A. I personally don’t like any non-Anvis ball detent “auto shutoff” features and instead prefer to manually control on/off. IMHO, manual control is best, other than ball detent.
True :D I guess I'll aim for a mount that cuts power when flipped up. Basicallly turning the whole unit into a mechanical switch. Since I want to use it for recreational bicycle riding, I doubt I'll have to deal with problems that keep me from manually turning the unit off. I still have a lot of work to do though. Making custom tubes is hard. I guess I could bridge some supply issue based waiting time with a digital mockup. That isn't very exciting though. Anyway, thanks for your opinion. @@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION
I did. It seems like exposed sliding contacts are used. Fabricating those seems rather inconvenient for me. I'd rather go with something weather proof. For example a end stop switch or a reed relais and a magnet.@@NITEWALKER-NIGHTVISION
The most notable differences the 31A is lighter weight, comes with the battery pack, has fixed non adjustable diopters, uses L3 Unfilmed WP 2376+, and the pods don’t have individual shut off.
I’ve seen new units range from $9k - $12k which is quite a spread so it’s definitely worth shopping around for these. Just make sure to compare apples to apples - so verify what the minimum FOM is
Who can work on my set left tube is not getting a good connection im guessing fold or flip them up and i have to fiddle with it and move it around to get it to come on not good when driving around killing hogs

This is by far the best dual tube housing out there. I wish we could by the NYX from Theon for custom builds…

Can we get a link of trusted vendors (esp selling to Euorpe) ?
