This stupid furnace staggered midway down a hill and I couldn't get the critical hit on it the first time. It worked out in the end, thanks for the video!

If you use a hammer, flail, great hammer, or axes, you will stagger him in much fewer hits. If you then switch to a weapon with a high Critical Hit modifier like the Misericorde or the Highland Axe, Lordsworn swords etc, you will deal more damage when you perform the critical hit. Fight becomes impossible once he decides to get stuck in between some walls leaving you no space

Big Tip: If you can get to a higher elevation, you can throw throwing pots into the opening at their top for big damage. I've only used Hefty Fire Cracked Pots and Giantflame Fire Pots. I don't know if other types or more effective. It seems strange that they would be weak to fire pots, but maybe it overloads them. Might be worth trying whatever pot scales best with your build. For me, it's fire, and they work just fine. Hope this helps.🙂
Theres a note in the game saying this. Use fire pot but not turbin fire pot
@@nicolofondaci434-You mean Furnace pots? I've been using Heft Fire Pots mostly. However, I just fought one where you HAVE to use a Hefty FURNACE Pot to “awaken” him, as the Hefty Fire Pot doesn't work. Then whatever Hefty Fire one you want to kill him.
If you are playing a INT caster type build, just spam Adula's Moonblade. This spell has a large AOE that it looks like it is hitting both of the feet on 1 swipe. Took this golem down with ease in 1 stagger without doing the weapon critical hit on its head. Just spam AM on both feet and its head when it falls. I use Lusat's +10 and Firedrake +2, follow the evasion tactics shown in this video and this enemy will be a piece of cake.
A few things you can also do to make it easier. Is change your talismans to the fire protection, damage negation, stamina recovery and use a heavy armor also an incantation ( bestial Vitality) it recovers your health by a small percentage every 2 seconds but it last 3 mins that helps a lot; and a last one, change all your flask to health recovery since your summon or skills won’t be much of help in this fights and you’ll need those health flasks for you and torrent.
Also the visage shield!

Awesome help man. Took two attempts to get him down but using torrent was so much easier instead of just brute attacking him and dodge rolling the flames

Thanks for the early guide! For any ranged users, try Spiral Shard for sorceries or Pest Threads for Incantation users, they rip apart giant foes!

There is a note called furnace keeper note, and it says “keep fire pots well clear when golem’s furnace ablaze” “never let me catch you with pots that produce flaming whirlwinds” You need to use the hefty furnace pot

I charged DMGS for extra attack and equipped lance talisman plus crimsonwhorl tear to convert damage to hp. Made the boss a breeze. Thanks for the video and inspiring me to finally taking him down.

literally killed him without getting hit lol. I did what you said, just D ride his back feet the whole time, however i find it best if you use a heavy weapon (i used the bloodfiend arm) as it'll do damage, especially poise damage. I found the technique is to just hit him with 2 light attacks or One heavy (2 light = 1 heavy idk if thats similar in swing timing) and after doing those attacks he should like get ready to stomp so that'll give you enough time to prepare.

I've got a cool tip to one shot the Furnace Giants rather than knocking it down twice.
After you knock it down on its side, you hit the critical hit spot on their face as usual.
On its way back up, position yourself near the top of the giant, then you throw a hefty pot into the fiery part of its head. It should finish off the giant!
I've only tested this once, and I had 16 Scadutree blessings at the time of doing it. Hope this helps!
I had my way of defeating them which was using the ancient dragon lighting strike which works does alot and staggers but I had trouble once I ran out of flasks and didn't know what to do really with his both leg stomp. Was trying to figure out what was the best way and I found this video, thank you for this guide, it was helpful.

Worked like a charm! Had to revive my horse twice but not bad on 2nd try. Did go down in 2 criticals with GUTS Greatsword
How do you beat the one in scadu Altus, it is easily twice as hard to beat and has a different moveset.

There are certain furnace golems that are under cliff sides, if you have hefty fire pots throw them into their fire, it does a lot of damage to them

Two handed Godfrey axe break this thing poise for every 5 hit
Honorable mention as a summon to help is black knife tiche since his burn deals max hp dmg and also cuts it

Do NOT get on your horse. Stay off. Get a really good stance dmg weapon, like bloodfiend's arm, put cragblade on it with heavy affinity and use stonebarb cracked tear. Spam charged heavies and he'll get stance broken really quickly. You can easily stay behind him and dodge all the shockwaves on foot.
The first time..ok. But the hard part is the second time you have to stance him...thats takes much longer...
Man, I'm glad it doesn't actually require fire pots to beat. Just beat the dlc without bothering to kill any of these guys. There's a note that says pots do... something to them but I couldn't figure it out. I assume I need to throw them into the top but fuck knows how I do that. Promised myself I wouldn't look at guides till I was done with the dlc because I kinda ruined the base game for myself like that.
if you use ancient dragon lightnings strike, it does stupid damage to this enemy, like 10000 per charged attack at 323 incant scaling, this massively speeds up the time it take to stagger it
I think you can throw the furnace pots inside of him and destroy him once you stagger him and drop him down

So easy I could not believe it
The trick is when he falls down don’t stop using the spell, about the time he gets back up, all of his health will be gone.

Between attacks try to use the ancient dragon lightning incant between its legs, it stuns him pretty fast
Easy? Whatever. Edit: I stuck with the strategy, and got it the first time after my smart ass comment lol. For what it's worth I also used the summon, but I almost had him twice without the summon, so I'm not sure if it actually made a difference. Thanks for the guide.

The funny thing about ng+ 7 is that he almost one hits you with any attack (and 60 vigor) lol. Even better: Most bosses have an absurd amount of health (80k +) and 2 hit you on top of being more agressive with their combos. It is quite the experience.

honestly people you don't even need the horse it's even easier without torrents tbh. just stand between his legs and focus 1 leg with heavy/jump attacks. you just need to learn the timing of jumping when he does the stomp. you hear the leg light up so the countdown begins don't even need to see the leg. if you stay between he keeps doing the stomps and almost nothing else. when the jump attack of him comes run away and jump when he lands. that is it. rinse and repeat.
He doesn't stomp at all for me, the only attack he does is the fireballs from up top, and it's a one shot everytime

How do you beat armored legged giant? some of them have armor on their legs
Critical hits bro, stance breaking. Now the best AoW for stance-breaking is Spectral Spear (for spears, great spears, halberds). I just made a video of it if you still need it.
Can't unsee all the creatures and people stuffed and burnt inside its metal frame.... a literal horse stickin out of one of the legs. gives me the heebijeebees

I bet dagger talisman and lance talisman could help here a bit as well!

Don't bother with torrent, use the executioners greataxe with Prayerful Strike, ( to heal and big crit damage) use fire talisman and Flame Protect Me to take little damage. stay behind. Even the mimic keeps healing LOL. Easy peasy. Use cracked tear and defense tear to break stance.
Not sure what their obsession with feet is, but these and dragons and just the lamest fights in the game. Literally fighting feet the whole time. What a waste of a cool Design.

There is an easier way forget the horse just jump when does the fire stomp I figured that out today or you can call your horse as he stomps and you don’t get hurt!!!!
So weird that the actual way to kill them is to use fire pots. Fire on a fire enemy... why??

I did it, no torrent, with Giant crusher for those big stance breaks. Apply same guide but without torrent... call torrent only for the jump.
I wish these fights were fun. They're super annoying and tedious. Especially when they put them in areas that have uneven ground.
I attempted the fight a couple of times, but my game lags around him and I take his shockwaves cuz I don't jump in time because of the lag.
