"Just play through the heist and have fun" is one of the best advice because I was too busy obsessing over if I did all prep and scope outs correctly and kept going back and getting caught, getting aggravated and as a result just kept putting it off. But I finally said "fck it let's count the first time as a learning experience." That's the only way I realized what I really needed and what not to waste my time on in future cayo heists and now it only takes me an hour.
yeah same I got so frustrated the first time when me and. y friend were scoping out we stayed dancing for like 15 mins that was the only fun part of the whole thing then he left and I got to do heist solo and the drainage tunnel was glitched so I couldn't go through... and I restarted twice
As a solo player, just scope out the airstrip looking for two stashes of cocaine. There's 6 possible loot spawn near, 4 in the hangar, 2 in a shed near the power station. If not enough coke is was found go to the comms tower and just use the cameras for the basement vault to determine the primary target and then the two office cams to see if paintings spawned.
@@LJOL202 just take your time with them, don’t worry about completing them and the heist under 1 hour until you’re comfortable. Try to get the sparrow if you can, but if not then use an armored car like a karuma to get around and stay alive. Don’t forget to utilize snacks and body armor and use a sniper to get enemies at long range to avoid countlessly dying
Totally! I think if you don't have real friends playing it, you can't even do heists with random people you have added because it's impossible to play exactly how you'll want it or at the same time.
@@hardyal8180 yes, you can, pavel gives you a call after a while when you've completed it the first time and for 25,000 dollars you can restart it and keep making money, definitely worth it and the best purchase you can make, though after some time it can get repetitive but the amount of money you make, makes it worth it.

@@salar7902 yes if you are so inclined, it does however come with problems if you have a heli on you, or a boat. But in theory you can run off cliff and swim outta the map.
As a little hint for solo play, for more extra loot: If you use Longfin you are a little bit slower, but you also can invest about 15 minutes extra to get extra loot at the airfield , from the big warehouse. There are a maximum of 4 tables with money and/or drugs in there and you only need to shoot one guard. You will also will get 20 Rebreather (no scuba, but its enough for escape). Than choose the fastest way you want in the compound and exit with the motor cycle strategy by jumping from the cliff and swim to the wale Skelet. This is my recommendation if there is no additional loot in the office other than the safe.
During the weapon mission if you get an office, you can kill the dude that the other guy is staring at and he still won’t see it for like 5-10 seconds.
For an easier escape route when leaving the compound instead of barging through the front gate, run all the towards the left of the gate where the end meets the ocean. (Towards El Rubios helicopter) Head towards the ocean and climb down the cliff you'll take no damage. Dive into the water and swim in the ocean submerged. Finally, just literally swim away from the island until the heist stops your player. My buddy and I have been cheesing this heist to the max. Definitely lmk if yall thought it was easier to escape doing this method instead.

Find a host who will let you join them. I was lucky enough to have someone carry me through the first time. That was WITH the elite chalenge bonus. I got 50%! Or make money with other businesses. It IS possible and well worth it. It's really fun and makes you alot of money in a realtively short time (compared to businesses).
I got soo lucky last night on this heist... -hard mode -pink diamond -painting in office -coke by the main dock -elite challenge Total take solo was 1.69 million for about 50mins work... I love this heist (edit) this was after the fancing fee and pavels cut
I got a little less lucky, but I'll go with it :D -hard mode -pink diamond -coke at the airstrip (Only did the scope out yet) The way to the airstrip and the swim to the Kosatka might be a bit time consuming, but I'm fine with it

Congratulations to tgg for getting 400k subs! Steps for this rags to riches episode: 1. Go to the music locker and speak to Miguel madrazo 2. Buy sub for 2.2 million 3. Just enjoy the heist on the first playthrough. 4. When at the sub press gather intel on the heist board. 5. Scope out everything you need ( tgg made a video on it) 6. On setups: Entry vehicle: kosatka Equipment: All of them but demolition charges Weapon loadout: Aggressor or conspirator 7. Use fast travel in sub in setups ( 2000 dollars after first heist) 8. Don't do distribution setups unless you're going in aggressive 9. Start finale 10. Entry point: drainage tunnel Compound entry point: drainage tunnel Escape point: main docks 11. Follow steps on the video for the route around the compound 12. Open the safe in El rubio's office 13. Take paintings if there are any and then hack the elevator and take the loot in the vault 14. Follow route on video to exit the compound. 15. Follow route on video to escape. 16. Take secondary loot at main docks unless you had 2 paintings in El Rubio's office 17. Escape from the island 18. If people don’t know if you press the R3 while aiming it’ll zoom in. I didn’t see him do this at all during this video and was playing with my friend today who also didn’t know you could do this. It helps 👍🏾
@@TomerShemesh To go back to the last checkpoint just get killed so that you fail the mission and just press the Quick Restart button. (R2 on PS) Don't press Continue. That got me a few times because in every other game you press X for Continue and you restart at last checkpoint. In this one it just means quit, lose all your progress and get respawned on the docks in front of an enemy that's already shooting in your direction.

Yes, but you must go to the office anyways for the money in the safe (50k-100k) and a possible painting. I do this with my friend. One goes in via the back to the saferoom and the other in to the office to get the safe money and a possible 2nd keycard for the gold rooms. You will make more money duo when taking all the gold and getting out of there quickly for the elite challenge. Did the heist yesterday three times in 4 hours. I LOVE IT
A tip, when you go out of the compound and go to the left there’s El Rubio’s helicopter, if you put sticky bombs on it and activate them while El Rubio is in it this will make him leave the island but he will come back if you get detected
Yeah it gives less pressure but honestly i never get detected by the heli, i just hide in a bush and even in the middle of his cone, no alarm. And the sniper loadout can be more useful to make 2 headshot at once, especially on those two guards facing each other at the main dock (standing beside the escape boat), i always fuck up here with conspirator
Quick tip for everyone trying to escape cayo perico. just swim out to the furthest u can go in any part of the beach and it’ll automatically finish heist
@@Sustar_ my strategy is scope out the airport and check for paintings on cameras, use the longfin to drive to the airport at the start of the heist and grab what is good there loop to drainage get in kill the heavy and probably a few extra guys, essential instead of what tgg does i take right instead of a left out of the drainage entrance grab the loot from the office and basement elevator back up and then go out the main entrance. i take the first guys bike and drive towards the helicopter avoiding the guard and from the map on screen at 3:18 drive off of the southern most tip of the island and swim to the whale skeleton around a triangle of depth charges, if you dont see it just swim away towards deep water. ill see if i can find the video i watched for this.
Quick tip about the guns prep: If you get the merryweather hq prep instead of the office prep, fast travel to Elysian island and nblow the Valkyrie up because that disgusting prep will waste so much time. Keep doing that until you get the office one. The merryweather takes me around 10-15mins to do while the office takes 5-7mins. Schoenberg Sachs (whatever the hell it’s called) will take a little longer because it’s pretty hard to land the sparrow on the roof of that building and to get out of there.
cayo perico is actually making me enjoy gta online, i only have like 1 friend on gta and they never play and i don't like playing with randoms so i always struggled with money, a few days ago i started doing some heists for the first time, prison break, humanes lab etc, was gonna save up for the opressor bcs im tired of people chasing me with it, but decided to buy the submarine today instead and it has changed everything, already made 7m today because i don't need to wait for people to join, i feel like im actually progressing after like 2 years

Great that there are heists that you finally can do solo, but I think I will stick to my MC businesses, bunker, nightclub, and vehicle cargo rotation for the majority. But it's awesome that there is a way to effectively mix it up a bit if my rotation is getting a bit boring.
I did the cayo heist solo a couple of times and honestly it beats all the businesses combined, in payout vs effort and time, not even gonna bother with businesses after this... :/
@@GreatBombard Of course, I instead meant I stick to my money grind rotation because it is personally more fun to me. There is no doubt that the cayo heist beats any other method in terms of efficiency, but I want to enjoy playing GTA and not force myself to do something I enjoy less only because it is more efficient.
Pro tip: you can just swim to the main dock by driving of the side of the cliff when you leave the compound. I doesn’t take as long as you may think so you can still complete the mastermind challenges 👍🏾
by taking this path, you also stumble upon rubio's unmanned attack helicopter. if you're running conspirator you can plant explosives on it to detonate later, just in case he gets a little too close for comfort.

i bought the sub for about 1.5 mil with a sale and within my first run i made 1.8 mil and completely made my money back, by far this is the best way to grind money
So when u r escaping there is no need to gl to the docks if u just want everything in the compound n ur doing it solo put ur escape point kosatka n just run out to the sea n swim for like 3 mins under water cause u already have a rebreather from entering
What I do is is run to one of the docks and find a dingy. I then take the dingy to the sub. I usually stay undetected until I get into the dingy but it isn't a problem. Put on super heavy armor and head towards the sub once in open water you'll barely get shot and the armor should keep you alive until the open water. Once at the sub one of the buzzards goes away and the other one stays basically completely still. Kill the pilot and it'll complete the mission for you
When I did it and got to the main docks, I just took the dingy and floored it. I got detected but I was far away by the time they started to attack. Taking the dingy out by the main docks gets u the most loot and the direct way out
Once you leave the compound turn right and run along the wall turn right again there should be some boats back there in the water shoot the driver tame tge boat and its a super fast completion time
That's what I do, take everything in the compound, full loot bag with door glitch for double key card doors, go out main gate hang a left. My quickest time was 09:19
I love that I can do this solo. I had to grind a bit with CEO/Terrorbyte missions and even had to sell a few vehicles that I had for years but I managed to buy the sub (stock) and play the heist several times. I literally made over $6M in less than a week. I bought the guided cruise missiles, Toredor and looking even bought a few overpriced guns. Feels good to make real money alone and not forced to play with other people. On a real note, Rockstar should add hired guns for players. I mean they can help defend you when you’re selling products or just in general while in freeroam. It’ll also be cool with they can wear custom outfits. That’ll be the best way to stop griefers
its funny you talk about this cause saints row 3 had something like this where you can call in helpers with custom outfits and im shocked rockstar never tried to add that cause it was cool.

@@prithishchandna8819 for the scope out just be patient and don’t rush it. Watch at least three videos on the route to take, it’s fairly the same and easy. As for the prep missions, try to use the “glitch” as to where you’ll get to be in a solo lobby. That way griefers ain’t destroying your progress. Also, definitely get the Sparrow or Oppressor and even the guided missiles to take out the merry weather chopper rather than following it
I like to wear the guard disguise and drive the truck through the front door. I fill up my bag before I enter the mansion. After I collect the primary objective I leave through the front gate. Once I'm out I take out the guard next to the motorcycle. I drive the motorcycle hard left twords the water. I try to shoot the driver out of a passing boat. If I can't do that I jump into the water and swim away from the island. I use a rebreather to go underwater if a patrol boat is near by. You can escape the island by swimming.
@@parkerhein3378 Your probably right. I have only had to make the swim once. I have been able to get a passing boat almost every time. The swim really isn't that bad. A boat would definitely be a lot quicker though.
Yea i like this aproch better as well, but apearntly gaurds dont detect you when they see you even after getting the primary reward, i thaught so to because Pavel said something about it not working but the disguise didn't lose its effectifnes
I like using the Longfin the most. It is easy to get and I can cruise around the island, stopping here and there, stealing targets. When stealing the Longfin, after I get close to the drop-off point, I stop the truck, jump out, and onto the trailer. Once inside the mesh of the Longfin, the cops don't see me. Then they go away. Sometimes I just let them kill me and then they go away. I have the Phantomwedge which makes it a lot quicker because instead of having to get a truck, I spawn that bad-ass Wedge and off I go.
i would advise doing the equipment preps first because they are guaranteed to be in los santos, then you should do the weapons prep because the mission has a chance of taking place in los santos, where you have to enter an office building, or you'll have to follow a merryweather chopper way out of los santos, so if you get the merryweather prep for guns, you put your sub back into storage when starting the mission, and request it from wherever you end up, whereas it doesn't matter where the sub is for the other prep missions as long as it is at one of the coast locations of los santos. after you do the guns, wherever you are, *then* start the submarine approach vehicle prep as it always takes place in the most northern part of the map and fast travel there. when you get the radar thingy back to your sub, you can just start the finale from there.
Whenever the Merryweather mission for weapons spawns I just use the guided missiles in my submarine and destroy the Valkyrie and start up the mission again for the office one
I almost never go for the other loot room in the docks because the two guards that are just staring at each other are the bane of my existence. Watching TGG drop them like a pro makes me feel woefully inadequate lol
I needed this guide, I’m not a solo player but for this heist I am and it’s pretty hard cus I’m used to working in a team. So thanks for the guide man. I’ve done the heist thrice and didn’t do it the way I thought I would.
Late to the party, but I finally just completed the heist for the first time, and used this video as a guide. Worked FLAWLESSLY. Got Elite challenge and everything. Super easy. 🙌🏼 For those having trouble in the finale: just follow this video to the letter, and memorize every path he takes. Super simple.
A freaking juggernaut is roaming around from the start plus when I am getting at the top I don't how guards are alerted even though I kill them sneakily
@@GIL3AWIYA tricks I learned Let the jug pass completely For the guard at the top either kill him very early or take cover with the wall and let him come in front of you let the jug and guard pass who are downstairs then kill him he won't see you since you are technically behind him
If you don’t trust yourself to hit headshots then you can start the armor mission and find a new session. The enemies won’t have armor on, you can do this for all of the distribution preps. (As of December 23, 2020)

A tip from my experience: Take the kosatka as escape point. You can scope out 4 tables of secondary targets at the northern airport. This will also make the heist escape a lot easier as there are only 4 guards and no cams at the airport.
It’s weird coming back to this channel becoming legit successful with nearly all the vehicles and properties I wanted. If you’re new and reading this., grinding legit in this game is *very* time consuming. But y’all can do! Also big loves to you big man
When you are escaping Cayo Perico, if you have a good gun and have good aim, you dont have to take a bike. You can just go right to where the keycard entrance was and near the drainage tunnel. You can wait for the boats to pass by and shoot at all the boats. After, just go down and snag the boat. Its a very safe and pretty quick way if you can hit them. Its way easier on console too.
Welcome back Kapitan! Hint: If you use the Kostaka as the escape, you don't have to get back to the sub, just swim out under water as far away from the island (until its the darkest on the map) and you will pass the heist.
Actually,Not Quite! You can always pasd the heist by swimming away from the island to a certain distance, regardless of whichever options you choose as the escape.

Fr the heist is really fun, the "stealth or aggressive" aspect is much more fun then the casino heist.

During the weapon mission if you get an office, you can kill the dude that the other guy is staring at and he still won’t see it for like 5-10 seconds.

For an easier escape route when leaving the compound instead of barging through the front gate, run all the towards the left of the gate where the end meets the ocean. (Towards El Rubios helicopter) Head towards the ocean and climb down the cliff you'll take no damage. Dive into the water and swim in the ocean submerged. Finally, just literally swim away from the island until the heist stops your player. My buddy and I have been cheesing this heist to the max. Definitely lmk if yall thought it was easier to escape doing this method instead.

Find a host who will let you join them. I was lucky enough to have someone carry me through the first time. That was WITH the elite chalenge bonus. I got 50%! Or make money with other businesses. It IS possible and well worth it. It's really fun and makes you alot of money in a realtively short time (compared to businesses).

Steps for this rags to riches episode:
1. Go to the music locker and speak to Miguel madrazo
2. Buy sub for 2.2 million
3. Just enjoy the heist on the first playthrough.
4. When at the sub press gather intel on the heist board.
5. Scope out everything you need ( tgg made a video on it)
6. On setups: Entry vehicle: kosatka
Equipment: All of them but demolition charges
Weapon loadout: Aggressor or conspirator
7. Use fast travel in sub in setups ( 2000 dollars after first heist)
8. Don't do distribution setups unless you're going in aggressive
9. Start finale
10. Entry point: drainage tunnel
Compound entry point: drainage tunnel
Escape point: main docks
11. Follow steps on the video for the route around the compound
12. Open the safe in El rubio's office
13. Take paintings if there are any and then hack the elevator and take the loot in the vault
14. Follow route on video to exit the compound.
15. Follow route on video to escape.
16. Take secondary loot at main docks unless
you had 2 paintings in El Rubio's office
17. Escape from the island
18. Enjoy the money!

@@TomerShemesh To go back to the last checkpoint just get killed so that you fail the mission and just press the Quick Restart button. (R2 on PS)
Don't press Continue. That got me a few times because in every other game you press X for Continue and you restart at last checkpoint. In this one it just means quit, lose all your progress and get respawned on the docks in front of an enemy that's already shooting in your direction.

When you picked up the keys you can go in through the exit and you get one less finger print. It will save you a lot of time.
Yes, but you must go to the office anyways for the money in the safe (50k-100k) and a possible painting. I do this with my friend. One goes in via the back to the saferoom and the other in to the office to get the safe money and a possible 2nd keycard for the gold rooms. You will make more money duo when taking all the gold and getting out of there quickly for the elite challenge. Did the heist yesterday three times in 4 hours. I LOVE IT
I do that every time. I first go to the safe to get rid of the guard up top and then after the safe I just go down to the gate

A tip, when you go out of the compound and go to the left there’s El Rubio’s helicopter, if you put sticky bombs on it and activate them while El Rubio is in it this will make him leave the island but he will come back if you get detected

Yeah it gives less pressure but honestly i never get detected by the heli, i just hide in a bush and even in the middle of his cone, no alarm. And the sniper loadout can be more useful to make 2 headshot at once, especially on those two guards facing each other at the main dock (standing beside the escape boat), i always fuck up here with conspirator
Quick tip for everyone trying to escape cayo perico. just swim out to the furthest u can go in any part of the beach and it’ll automatically finish heist

@@Sustar_ my strategy is scope out the airport and check for paintings on cameras, use the longfin to drive to the airport at the start of the heist and grab what is good there loop to drainage get in kill the heavy and probably a few extra guys, essential instead of what tgg does i take right instead of a left out of the drainage entrance grab the loot from the office and basement elevator back up and then go out the main entrance. i take the first guys bike and drive towards the helicopter avoiding the guard and from the map on screen at 3:18 drive off of the southern most tip of the island and swim to the whale skeleton around a triangle of depth charges, if you dont see it just swim away towards deep water. ill see if i can find the video i watched for this.

Quick tip about the guns prep:
If you get the merryweather hq prep instead of the office prep, fast travel to Elysian island and nblow the Valkyrie up because that disgusting prep will waste so much time. Keep doing that until you get the office one. The merryweather takes me around 10-15mins to do while the office takes 5-7mins. Schoenberg Sachs (whatever the hell it’s called) will take a little longer because it’s pretty hard to land the sparrow on the roof of that building and to get out of there.

cayo perico is actually making me enjoy gta online, i only have like 1 friend on gta and they never play and i don't like playing with randoms so i always struggled with money, a few days ago i started doing some heists for the first time, prison break, humanes lab etc, was gonna save up for the opressor bcs im tired of people chasing me with it, but decided to buy the submarine today instead and it has changed everything, already made 7m today because i don't need to wait for people to join, i feel like im actually progressing after like 2 years

Great that there are heists that you finally can do solo, but I think I will stick to my MC businesses, bunker, nightclub, and vehicle cargo rotation for the majority. But it's awesome that there is a way to effectively mix it up a bit if my rotation is getting a bit boring.
I did the cayo heist solo a couple of times and honestly it beats all the businesses combined, in payout vs effort and time, not even gonna bother with businesses after this... :/

There is no doubt that the cayo heist beats any other method in terms of efficiency, but I want to enjoy playing GTA and not force myself to do something I enjoy less only because it is more efficient.

by taking this path, you also stumble upon rubio's unmanned attack helicopter. if you're running conspirator you can plant explosives on it to detonate later, just in case he gets a little too close for comfort.

After a year, I finally completed the first step of completing the heist myself. But now I have a tactic
I use the Kosatka as my escape, there is a “glitch” where you swim straight out of the map and pass the heist, you don’t even have to go to the sub.
U always escape by just swiming outside the map. Doesnt matter what u chose.

So when u r escaping there is no need to gl to the docks if u just want everything in the compound n ur doing it solo put ur escape point kosatka n just run out to the sea n swim for like 3 mins under water cause u already have a rebreather from entering
What I do is is run to one of the docks and find a dingy. I then take the dingy to the sub. I usually stay undetected until I get into the dingy but it isn't a problem. Put on super heavy armor and head towards the sub once in open water you'll barely get shot and the armor should keep you alive until the open water. Once at the sub one of the buzzards goes away and the other one stays basically completely still. Kill the pilot and it'll complete the mission for you
When I did it and got to the main docks, I just took the dingy and floored it. I got detected but I was far away by the time they started to attack. Taking the dingy out by the main docks gets u the most loot and the direct way out
Once you leave the compound turn right and run along the wall turn right again there should be some boats back there in the water shoot the driver tame tge boat and its a super fast completion time
That's what I do, take everything in the compound, full loot bag with door glitch for double key card doors, go out main gate hang a left. My quickest time was 09:19
I love that I can do this solo. I had to grind a bit with CEO/Terrorbyte missions and even had to sell a few vehicles that I had for years but I managed to buy the sub (stock) and play the heist several times. I literally made over $6M in less than a week. I bought the guided cruise missiles, Toredor and looking even bought a few overpriced guns. Feels good to make real money alone and not forced to play with other people. On a real note, Rockstar should add hired guns for players. I mean they can help defend you when you’re selling products or just in general while in freeroam. It’ll also be cool with they can wear custom outfits. That’ll be the best way to stop griefers
its funny you talk about this cause saints row 3 had something like this where you can call in helpers with custom outfits and im shocked rockstar never tried to add that cause it was cool.

how do you do the scope out mission and the prep missions efficiently
@@prithishchandna8819 for the scope out just be patient and don’t rush it. Watch at least three videos on the route to take, it’s fairly the same and easy. As for the prep missions, try to use the “glitch” as to where you’ll get to be in a solo lobby. That way griefers ain’t destroying your progress. Also, definitely get the Sparrow or Oppressor and even the guided missiles to take out the merry weather chopper rather than following it

I like to wear the guard disguise and drive the truck through the front door. I fill up my bag before I enter the mansion. After I collect the primary objective I leave through the front gate. Once I'm out I take out the guard next to the motorcycle. I drive the motorcycle hard left twords the water. I try to shoot the driver out of a passing boat. If I can't do that I jump into the water and swim away from the island. I use a rebreather to go underwater if a patrol boat is near by. You can escape the island by swimming.
That’s a long ass swim just take a dinghy from the main docks and take secondary loot after you’ve already got the primary

Yea i like this aproch better as well, but apearntly gaurds dont detect you when they see you even after getting the primary reward, i thaught so to because Pavel said something about it not working but the disguise didn't lose its effectifnes
Went through the drainage tunnel, got 2 paintings and the diamond. Escaped by swimming too, but failed the elite challenge by 2 minutes being slow
I like using the Longfin the most. It is easy to get and I can cruise around the island, stopping here and there, stealing targets. When stealing the Longfin, after I get close to the drop-off point, I stop the truck, jump out, and onto the trailer. Once inside the mesh of the Longfin, the cops don't see me. Then they go away. Sometimes I just let them kill me and then they go away. I have the Phantomwedge which makes it a lot quicker because instead of having to get a truck, I spawn that bad-ass Wedge and off I go.

Hey, TGG your edits have been so good lately, credit to you and your editor
Petition to get TGG to make a video of Cayo perico with randoms
i would advise doing the equipment preps first because they are guaranteed to be in los santos, then you should do the weapons prep because the mission has a chance of taking place in los santos, where you have to enter an office building, or you'll have to follow a merryweather chopper way out of los santos, so if you get the merryweather prep for guns, you put your sub back into storage when starting the mission, and request it from wherever you end up, whereas it doesn't matter where the sub is for the other prep missions as long as it is at one of the coast locations of los santos. after you do the guns, wherever you are, *then* start the submarine approach vehicle prep as it always takes place in the most northern part of the map and fast travel there. when you get the radar thingy back to your sub, you can just start the finale from there.
Whenever the Merryweather mission for weapons spawns I just use the guided missiles in my submarine and destroy the Valkyrie and start up the mission again for the office one

If you don’t trust yourself to hit headshots then you can start the armor mission and find a new session. The enemies won’t have armor on, you can do this for all of the distribution preps. (As of December 23, 2020)
Just disconnect at 17:46 and you can replay it again skipping preps

What happened to these awesome intros, I randomly found this video after watching what I thought was everything on your channel and this is the coolest intro by far
A tip from my experience: Take the kosatka as escape point. You can scope out 4 tables of secondary targets at the northern airport. This will also make the heist escape a lot easier as there are only 4 guards and no cams at the airport.

When you are escaping Cayo Perico, if you have a good gun and have good aim, you dont have to take a bike. You can just go right to where the keycard entrance was and near the drainage tunnel. You can wait for the boats to pass by and shoot at all the boats. After, just go down and snag the boat. Its a very safe and pretty quick way if you can hit them. Its way easier on console too.
Swimming are way faster if you take the specific route

Hint: If you use the Kostaka as the escape, you don't have to get back to the sub, just swim out under water as far away from the island (until its the darkest on the map) and you will pass the heist.
Actually,Not Quite! You can always pasd the heist by swimming away from the island to a certain distance, regardless of whichever options you choose as the escape.

I always use the Longfin, drive to the docks, steal the coke, take a disguise if there is one, and drive to compound, going through side door, then on exit i swim off
