The city shouldn't be too crowded. This is one of those ports where lots of people go on excursions because it's so accessible to the D-Day sites, but the town is pretty and if it's market day, you've got it made!

Can you walk to the beaches from the city centre
No, the city center is not at all close to the D-Day beaches.
