Great video.
On the subject of the captain being fired, I think it is very dangerous to have a culture where employees are fired for the slightest mistakes, as someone may take actions to try cover up a mistake, which may lead to catastrophe.
Yes true
Nice analysis, Alexander! It's always better to abort if in any doubt. In this situation, CM1 missed to check the FMA but still had time to do so at 40kts (they didn't waste significant RWY length so far) and 4000+m RWY still available. ECAM tells what the "problem" is and it's obvious there is not a problem at all as soon as the TL are set to FLEX/MCT. I would have set so, checked the FMA again, read MAN FLEX... and continued. Sure, if you take-off from a RWY that is short and the take-off calculation shows a small margin, no one will say anything if you abort. I'm just referring to this situation at very low speed and that RWY length available. EVEN if continuing after setting TL to FLEX/MCT or TOGA, it does not mean that you can't abort thereafter before reaching V1 if the FMA/ECAM does not show what you expect it should. But even this will be displayed without delay so even then they would still be well below 100kt I suspect. Looking forward to your next videos! Thanks!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great video concept and well presented! I find this type of video to be really useful. Looking forward to the next episodes :)
Thank you 🙏🏻

Excellent video and content , good luck cap!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Really well-explained pilot alexander. looking forward for more episodes.
Thank you 🙏🏻
For sure toga might have been an option, if happy with the fma at that point, he might have continued , but certainly firing is not. Sad reality. Great job. Looking forward for new videos.
Thank you 🙏🏻
MAGNIFIQUE VIDEO ET TRÈS BELLE ANALYSE !!! DE PLUS, ELLE EST TRÈS TRÈS TRÈS COMPRÉHENSIBLE EN ANGLAIS POUR CEUX QUI N'ONT PAS UN TRÈS BON NIVEAU.
ENCORE BRAVO ET MERCI !!!!!!!!
Merci 🙏🏻
Great video, detailed . Keep it up
Great video! I’m trying to analyze as much information as I can so I can become a pilot myself 👍
Great content. As pilots I believe we can learn immensely from past events that have happened. It's very sad and disheartening to know the Capt was fired for taking a decision which just resulted in spending some extra time on the ground.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Instead of firing from his job, he should to be honoured for taking safety action
Amazing video! Excited to see more in future😁😁
Thanks 🙏🏻
Great video great lesson. Expecting more analysis videos in the future.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great episode. Enjoyed to watch it. Looking forward to upcoming episodes :D
Thank you 🙏🏻
Thank you for this episode. It is unfortunate that the Captain was fired when an argument can certainly be made that employees who recognize and handle mistakes appropriately like this Captain did, and who learn from them so are unlikely to repeat them, are both safer workers and more empathetic colleagues when -their co-workers make mistakes - which, of course, they will too! In my experience as a manager, albeit in banking, I generally preferred to promote those employees who made mistakes but who rectified the situation, and who were then able to demonstrate that they learned from this going forward by implementing needed steps to minimize the possibility of a recurrence. I wish this Captain well and sincerely hope that he can find work as a pilot. I would be happy to fly with him!

good content Alex 👌 thanks
Thank you 🙏🏻
Great content & educational!
How to avoid confirmation biased error?
Love the cat's lack of procedural timing.....
What could be the reason a pilot ignoring alarms e.g for a landing gear not down for landing? Is there a need for verbal indication of the error so that the specific error the alarm is indicating is not missed? (maybe same alarm for two different problems leading to serious pilot errors e.g flight pk8303)
Maybe
Loved it!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Informative!
Thank you 🙏🏻
Excellent video, teaching us aviation and medicine haha.

Thank you Captain
🙏🏻
Thank you very much
Thanks 🙏🏻
You said, if I understood correctly, he would've been fired even if he took the TOGA decision. Indeed, I thought that for such things there were no questions asked, investigations or whatever. Instead, they had to analyse why the plane needed to try again... But if he chose the TOGA way, would have they noticed anything?
Merci
Please make more of this series, for example MH370, I would be very happy you analyzing MH370.
