Because I went to a school like this I can tell you at the root of it was not the biology answers it was that he didn’t comply. This is how these people think and act. It’s not about giving up your lunch money or saying something about
About someone cutting in line we’re not moving to another seat, it’s about resisting the dominance of bullies who are almost always bigger or in numbers.

I was bullied a lot in the middle school, than in high school I had enough and signed up to Tae Kwan Do. I was horrible at it at begining, but I trained very very hard and faced the fear of contact sparring with the black belts, one worked in jail and I always had blue spots on my body after sparring him. After about a year, couple of punks tried to bully me, one got chocked in classroom, another one couple months later ended up with broken nose and bleeding all over. Two suspensions, juvenile police record but noone ever f*cked with me. Telling you, boys should do martial arts as soon as they can

    • @prtdiva

Facts. It was definitely his refusal to comply. Especially because they probably perceived him as a “lame” but also, are jealous that they aren’t as smart and they think he thinks he’s better than them because of his upbringing etc. (I just created a whole fake scenario 😂)

I was a public school teacher for thirty years.
We had an easy time of discipline when I started: one visit to the principal's office followed up by a phone call home was all it took to put a wayward student back on the right track.
Now? The parents accuse teachers of being racist, sexist, fill in the blank, the students WANT to go to the principal's office where they'll have their hand held and soothed after the big bad teacher was mean to them, you can get sued or written up by administration just for trying to make students behave. I can't remember the last time I spoke with the parent of a disruptive student who didn't support that student 100%.
The upshot? A few unruly students run the classrooms and the school. Teachers can't teach and the students who are there to learn cannot learn because of the toxic atmosphere. Students and even teachers don't feel physically safe. I had students challenge me to fights and one even took a punch at me in my last year of teaching because I tried to stop him from tearing up a computer keyboard.
We always had bullies in schools. The difference is that now, they and their parents run the school.

They're not even bullies, anymore. They're feral thugs. My education and mental health were fucked for life, thanks to school. I graduated a year early with a 2.4 gpa, just so I could get the fuck out. To this day I deal with the memories of feeling helpless, depressed, suicidal, and so much more than I'm willing to share. That shit didn't make me stronger. It made me lose my damn mind and led to me making poor decisions. I still take responsibility for any and all decisions I've ever made and will make, but behavior is effected by traumatic experiences and mental torture. And people wonder why kids are shooting up schools, doing drugs, skipping, and killing themselves at unprecedented rates. Doesn't take a genius to figure it out. I will always be thankful for the teachers that tried, though. Those teachers and my own folks were the only reason I didn't off myself in middle school.

There should be a “ Parental Expectations “ Agreement that parents have to fill out and give to the school before the student starts the year.
Parents are given the opportunity to list what they expect the school to teach their child during school hours, and in return , MUST agree they will follow up on non- compliance on the part of their child in following the curriculum, with SPECIFIC measures that will be taken BY the school against BOTH the parent(s) and the student if they do not adhere to the agreement!

I can't say I'm surprised, but it seems really low class at the college level. It's like being arrested for turnstile jumping. Dude, that's a couple dollars. If you're going to steal, make it count. I never helped anyone cheat either. I felt like why should I work for other people who are lazy. They can do the same thing I do. And later as a teacher, I gave significant extra credit to motivated students who were working really hard, but not achieving the highest marks. For some it's easy, and for others it's not, but for those who are motivated, they can go far in life, and I rewarded that. Not perfect grammar there, it's a bit embarrassing as a teacher, but I think it was the best way to express it.

I disagree, that kind of stuff comes from the home and it shouldn't be taught in school. Maybe covered in a subjects like humanities or literature for analysis and overview. One student expelled seems light, the whole group should of been and parents held accountable. The victims parents held their composer better than I would of if it where my child.

I went to magnet school as a teen, which means you have to have an A or B high average to attend, and it was the best decision my parents made because of the awful public school system here. Everyone is too focused on success to fight in those type of schools and it’s relatively peaceful!
