My biological parents broke up completely and started seeing new people when I was 2, however my parents didn't bother to make the divorce final until I was 14, even though they were long since broken up.
This is actually very relatable, because my mom and dad are seperated and i thought my mom was the reason behind the break up because my father told me his side of the story, and i belived him, that was until I found out the truth from my mom, it really broke my heart. My brother used to blame my mom and say, "if you were nicer, he would have stayed." my mom just took it (she was never one to speak out against our dads; we both learned on our own how bad they were), and when my brother was 17, he finally saw his dad again and he realized none of it was our mom's fault.
My mom had an affair on my dad back in 1998 so I blame her 100% for the divorce! We found out years later our dad was going to commit suicide if he never met his second wife at his work!
