Walter cascao is a very decent human being. He is a really good instructor and his students are very successful. He was very generous to me during my time in Vegas by letting me workout with the team while I was super broke.

I trained under Walter he is awesome he is by far the best instructor and friend I have had in the mats. If you join his school you will be family. I have nothing but great things to say about Walter . If your in vegas go check him out

I always found hilarious that there's a dojo out there called Cobra Kai
and they’re pretty good!
I went to a mma gym that was called cobra Kai and Dominick reyes went there it’s in Victorville.The owner is ufc fighter joe Stevenson.
@@strippergavemmepinkeye2.023 my Coach,Marc Laimon, who Sim bought the gym from and was sim’s coach named it Cobra Kai. Sim and Joe daddy both got their black belts from Laimon hence the name of both gyms.

I trained at a Cascao affiliate in Maui and he came every year for promotions. Walter is such an awesome person. You should go back when he is there

His critiques and praises seemed accurate and honest. And in the end, I don't think that he made the other one look particularly bad, it just wasn't his preference.
@@ryanscottnix Sure but they are also competing gyms potentially in the same city....he definitely made one look much worse. I would not be happy letting someone film and then getting dumped on.

There's something about the baseball bat choke that just attracts me idk why, all of the variants I've seen are super cool to me. I've let too many guard passes because of this and it wouldn't be my go to in competition, but it is for sure my favorite sub.

Favorite sub lately has been the ankle guillotine, otherwise the classic rear naked strangle is my tried and true favorite (assuming I can actually get to the back).

been wanting to try out Vegas gyms for a while, and nice find with the headphones. as for subs, nothing like a solid head-arm choke (to convert also to a back take) and Italian beef.

I trained at cobra Kai in March when I was on vacation. When I got back, the guy who would tap me 10 times in a 5 minute round need 2 rounds to tap me. Looking forward to training with them again this June.

My favorite right now is the slicers, particularly the ham sandwich and a submission system I have been developing and working for the last year or so from bottom side control

Last year for a couple months I went to Cascao. Coach Walter is an awesome person and coach. I really wish I could’ve been with them a lot longer however school and injuries from wrestling kept me away :(

I was only at sim go for 6 months when I was in Vegas for work but it was really influential. Sim would tell me xyz moves would be good for me. I wasn't good enough to execute them at the time but years later he was right. I'm currently working on the DLR ankle lock he showed me years ago!
I don't know if things have changed, they would do gi and no gi classes right after each other. They were good at both but if I had to pick I'd say they were better no gi. They had real no gi plans versus just trying to force fit a gi game, which was rarer back then.
we still have no gi 😄
As a newbie wrestling other newbies most of the time, I've found the Ezekiel choke a quite useful tool in my small arsenal

Rolling with Sim, several black belts and his top competitors isn’t a fair comparison to going to a random empty nogi class full of white belts vs a roll with Walter. Or at least compare Chris Engle Jiu Jitsu (Cascao affiliate) and roll with our black, brown, and purple belts ❤️
I train at Sims and I agree with your comment. Wasn't a fair comparison.
It may not have been the best day, but I only had select time frames for fitting all these gyms in. These were both morning classes however!
I agree with you as well @theenviproject8272. I was a student of Chris and Mylene and CEBJJ is such a staple to the Cascao family here in Vegas as well as all the Cascao Affiliates. This was a very unfair comparison. I get the whole time slot and scheduling thing, but for the sake of Cobra Kai vs Cascao, I would have waited to make time with Walter.
@@TylerSpangler then go back at a better time before you do this kind of review at a gym. I've never been to cascao but this left a really bitter taste in my mouth, and not about them, but about you.
Lol relax he’s saying you could go to sim go and probably find or roll with more higher level ppl at all times of the day. Don’t need to call and plan a meeting for that lol

@@TylerSpangler If you make it to Sacramento might as well try the highest elevation gym on the west coast at Mammoth Lakes Jiu Jitsu, were small and dont have a lot of higher belts but the altitude will be our best defense

Next time come to a class Walter teaches and good luck. Would have been easy to pick up the phone and call before hand to see what time he’d be there.
I would have liked to, but it’s tough to fit 8 gyms in to 4 days. This was the time slot available

It looks like you went to the morning class in cascao. The evening classes are more competition style pace from what I remember
Favorite submission is the bow and arrow. I especially love putting the knee behind the head, if someone has a hand in the lapel.

Cobra Kai treated me real good when I trained there. However my gym is under Cascao in Michigan. Walter is kind hearted and awesome guy!

Loving this chanel and what u show and if im honest its only recently ive got into this . Ive always been very competent stand up dude and have trained a long time its funny how i gained interest in bjj as its a bit humilating story on my behalf. Like i said im quite a big dude muscular and have a few skills and was messing around in the gym and was watching a girl probably 20 beating the gym up so was asked to partake lol she had me rolled up like a pretzel which was awesome to see .new found respect there and then 😅

Hi Tye. I got to roll Simpson 4 years ago very nice guy and very nice techniques.. his schools was the first I experienced a bjj gym more like a sports gym no bowing in etc is that common in the US ?
