This is without a doubt the best and most educational roll I've ever seen. I am certainly not advanced enough to understand everything that happened here, but I will definitely take the time to rewatch this and analyse what I can
@@TylerSpangler you should come through Claunch academy while you're in Austin on a Saturday morning and ask to roll with Dave. Hidden gem. You won't regret.
This is a great model of the kind of rolling that lower belts should strive for. You both were more interested in advancing position and trying things than locking the other person down and then ego fighting to prevent positional changes. If people want to get better, they need to roll like you two here. Even if you lack the technicality. it will be more fun than just locking down and training conservatively.
Kody is super legit, I see him all the time on Fight Pass in various tournaments. This was one of the most entertaining rolls I've seen on your channel. Scrambles for days!
Damn dude, that was one of the most entertaining rolls I've seen on your channel. You guys hit an awesome rhythm and great intensity level. Those rolling scrambles were awesome to watch.
Looks like he was being super chill and flow rolling with you. No ego and not using any athleticism to beat you. Seemed like a very humble and cool guy to train with.
That was a reeeaaaallly smooth roll. Beautiful technique, no spazzing, strength or unnecessary explosiveness. I think that this is the closest a high-intensity roll can get to a flow roll. Majors props to both players !
1:16 you had a nice little inverted kneebar setup. all you had to do is take your right leg and cross it over your left over the back of his ankle and then use your hands to lock up his upper hamstring glute area. Maybe im over analyzing it but thats what I would have gone for if i had an isolated leg in that position. hard to tell if his butt drag kept you from bringing that right leg of yours back to his isolated leg for added hold.
That was one of the most technical and flowing rolls I've seen on this channel. Great jiu jitsu on display by both you guys and a great commentary to accompany it.
Action packed! Great pace and pressure from both of you, but it never got super aggro or ugly. Dude I love it when you challenge yourself against high level competitors, it's a different kind of video and my favorite to watch
Wow. I went to the comment section, and see everyone echoing the same sentiment I felt. This video was really fucking good. That pace and technique was awesome from both of you, a lot happened in those scrambles too that was incredible. The editing and voice over work was super helpful for pointing things out and showing us exactly what was happening. 10/10
Wow. This roll session entertaining. The commentary was equal amounts insightful and engaging at the same time. You sir have a new follow, keep up the content
You should upload another video of the roll without slowing the footage down. You can put it private and have a link in the description for people who want to see it.
Watching you guys roll is like magic or theater or a movie like music you see it but it can’t be real because you don’t understand how two humans could have that much knowledge on how another human is going to react
I've mastered the Leonardo and Raphael position, but need to work on my Michelangelo and Donatello. Only when I've mastered all will I be a hero in a half-shell. Turtle Power! More sincerely, a great video I'll be studying!
Tyler, your rolling, and subsequent commentary, first rate dude. You can really LEARN from your videos. Learning, having fun, is not that, what wrestling and Jiu Jitz are all about? Look forward to the next one ROLL FREE BABY!!
I recently started watching your videos, I was able to hit my first gullotine in class today after watching you hit it all the time in your videos! Hope to see your next video soon
Absolutely good there is just a couple things that I see as a wrestler jujitsu guy sometimes when he sitting down and he has that arm just kind of posting you could take that and literally take control of that you have it now this submissions is easy Then there was also a part where you had his arm to go down to a side right here all you need to do is put your hand over the top of his hand, reach across his stomach and pick up his arm. It’s an easy submission armbar from Crossbody that is just right there in a lot of people don’t even know .
I've never done BJJ this video was a master class. It was great to see two athletes roll together with respect. I would love to learn some of those techniques, it must be a great workout.

Hope it all makes sense one day! Thanks for watching
I second that!
Yeah, this was a good video with good play by play.
Such a beautiful roll. No egos. Just two guys being great training partners.
This is as good of a roll as you can have in the gym. Super fun and back and forth
I agree! Really technical and fast!
The level of skill on display here is ridiculous. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Slick and fast without being hyper aggressive! Ultimate flow on this one, big up both of you 🔥
Really fun stuff! Thanks for watching

This is the best roll I have ever seen. So clear to understand and fascinating to follow the transitions
Glad you liked it amigo! Very fun on both ends
I love how smooth Kody's style is...the focus on mobility over power is beautiful
Kody is super legit, I see him all the time on Fight Pass in various tournaments. This was one of the most entertaining rolls I've seen on your channel. Scrambles for days!
Super legit indeed! He’s also very welcoming, which I appreciate.
Damn dude, that was one of the most entertaining rolls I've seen on your channel. You guys hit an awesome rhythm and great intensity level. Those rolling scrambles were awesome to watch.
You're a great teacher. Incredibly clear explanations. Not one wasted word. Very fun to watch.
Looks like he was being super chill and flow rolling with you. No ego and not using any athleticism to beat you. Seemed like a very humble and cool guy to train with.
This is potentially the highiest quality roll I've ever seen in too many ways to explain. An absolute treat to watch, you guys are amazing
Legitimately one of the best rolls I've ever seen. The scrambles were as legendary as my Grandma's breakfast
That was a reeeaaaallly smooth roll. Beautiful technique, no spazzing, strength or unnecessary explosiveness. I think that this is the closest a high-intensity roll can get to a flow roll. Majors props to both players !
Man that was a great roll, looks like so much fun (and work!). Thanks for the content Tyler!
Thanks for watching amigo. Fast paced roll!
High level technique, scrambles, commentary, and elite level turtle! Great video Tyler. Cheers!
Man you absolutely killed it in this roll ! Well done Sir - seriously should be proud of that.. greetings from Ireland btw

Finally switched up the background but still doesn’t understand the concept of lighting 😔
Such a fluid roll, nice when things keep moving and a good pace to try things!
I much prefer having rolling partners like this!
I can't get over how smooth you guys rolled, well done gents
What a nice roll to see ! very technical without too much power.
Beautiful.
thanks you 2.
That was one of the most technical and flowing rolls I've seen on this channel. Great jiu jitsu on display by both you guys and a great commentary to accompany it.
This is amazing my man, I'm grateful for your content!
I’m glad you watch!
the transitions into defense and offense are so smooth . I love it
One of the most fun rounds I’ve watched. Love the scrambles
Scrambles are the best part of grappling!
Action packed! Great pace and pressure from both of you, but it never got super aggro or ugly. Dude I love it when you challenge yourself against high level competitors, it's a different kind of video and my favorite to watch
This might be your best video yet
Damn that was one helluva scramble!!!
One of the best back and forth rolls I’ve seen! 🔥
I think you’d mess him up
Super flowy! Excellent roll, especially with the commentary!
Glad you liked it amigo
By far the most fun rolls when its action and flow roll all the time.
100% agree. I wish more people would roll this way
I love the way you explain everything. Thank you.
This was such a fun round to watch. The flow was so smooth and enjoyable to watch. Also, fantastic commentary.
Really nice. Can see you improving so much too 👍
Amazing roll, great to see the detail and the flow.
👊🏽
Damn. This was an excellent bout! You're both pretty evenly matched. This was really entertaining to watch!
That take down d fence at 1:16 probably some of the most subtle but slick shit I have seen
Kudos to both of you, a very good example of a proper sparring.
It's amazing to see how slow and controlled this roll is.
Wow. I went to the comment section, and see everyone echoing the same sentiment I felt. This video was really fucking good. Dude this commentary is off the charts. As a shitty blue belt I gotta say I loved every minute of this.
So smooth and seamless. Amazing!
Tyler, You are awesome! Making me a better white belt every time I watch your breakdowns!
Glad you’re improving because of me!
Thanks to both letting us see this contest
This guy his so underrated, super talented and funny as hell, grate content
Very cool video. I have a lot of respect for practitioners of such a lethal martial art.
That. Was. So. SATISFYING!
Lovely roll!
Saw this video 4 times in a row. A lot to see there. Thank you!
This was a really fun roll to watch. Great flow and exchanging multiple positions constantly transitioning.
Wow. This roll session entertaining. The commentary was equal amounts insightful and engaging at the same time. You sir have a new follow, keep up the content

Good idea. Usually I do that with the patreon rolls, or rolls that don’t make the channel for whatever reason
That was one of the most beautiful rolls I've seen. Thanks for the content!

Both going about 75%. Great technique and Tyler, you did great!
Absolutely beautiful to watch, so fluent!
Damn that 5:30 scramble back and forth was slick.
Can you do this as a beginner just to stay in shape without getting hurt? Your all around functional strength looks amazing. I’d love to have that
Of course. Pair this with something like general weight lifting and you’ll be in great shape
That is some great content! Camera person going wild! Great video!
possibly your best video yet as far as i saw your channel
One of the coolest and smoothest rolls I have seen.
Tyler, your rolling, and subsequent commentary, first rate dude. You can really LEARN from your videos. Learning, having fun, is not that, what wrestling and Jiu Jitz are all about? Look forward to the next one
ROLL FREE BABY!!
I recently started watching your videos, I was able to hit my first gullotine in class today after watching you hit it all the time in your videos! Hope to see your next video soon
Glad you got a guillotine amigo. It’s a satisfying feeling
“I’ve learned from women when something is fake”. 😂😂😂😂
This was a very pretty roll.
This was one hell of a scramble. I always roll like that with my boys, except we're considerably worse
Awesome roll and narration
That was great to interesting to see and the commentary perfect !
That was an awesome roll, great breakdown
You’re incredible. Thanks for the videos.
This was insane! Looked like two tornadoes with legs fighting it out!
These scrambles are elite 🔥🔥🔥
And super fun to do!
So much talent in austin Texas! I haven’t trained in 4 years. Very conflicted as to which school I should enroll.
Omg you are the EXACT doppelgänger of Steven Tries (a comedic RUclipsr here in the UK)!!!

Both of you are very skilled.!!
That roll was super fun to watch!
Great roll! Very even match between the two of you.
That was awesome to watch mate. White belt here in the uk. 👏
Thanks for watching mate. Hello to the UK
Thats some pretty freaking solid scrambling!
Such a good roll
Great roll and video. I can't tell if it's in real time or if the video speed has been slowed down for production. Care to answer?
Real time speed 😀
I love turtle, as a 42 yr old 1 stripe white belt it allows me to stay out of side control or mount!
Very technical great roll, you are really good, you did some counters i never seen before
One of the best rolls I've ever seen!
Looks exhausting and very impressive.
I've never done BJJ this video was a master class. It was great to see two athletes roll together with respect. I would love to learn some of those techniques, it must be a great workout.
You taught me alot about you in this one
Thanks
Wow that’s a fantastic roll and narration
Wow awesome transitions!!!!
Fun, fast paced, technical roll. Nice. I thought you could only spam guillotines.
Great flow and rythm!
woh that scramble made my whitebelt brain hurt. great roll!
Great roll. Controlled with enough action.
That was great man!
I thought you were going to manhandle him but Asian dude looks really good. Great vid. Thanks for sharing.
As a Tyler Spangler Black Belt™ I am happy to see my sensei perform at such a high level.
