I used to work at claires - the employees are probably being unclear when you visit. the sale is basically always on Claires-Branded Items. the plushies are usually excluded because they're not usually made by claires(Squishmallows and Ty are seperate brands), but they do /occasionally/ make their own plush stuff, especially now that they have their own little characters. just check the tag and see if it's specifically Claires and that'll usually be right. the only time i have ever seen this not be the case is when the sale is specifically for hair accessories and earrings, which they should tell you upfront. also, please don't be too mad at the employees! we were actively encouraged to use misleading phrases, and i'm 99% sure the reason i was let go is because i refused to call it a Free Ear Piercing(i would always say "the piercing is free, so you only pay for the studs!" because that was accurate). i was also reprimanded for not approaching customers often enough, so if you feel like you're being followed, it's because the manager is INSISTING they be on you.
As someone who worked at Claire's I can confirm the sales were dumb but we included the Ty plushies but the squishmallows has their own deal which was buy 1 get 1 50% off
