A 'jazzy' Peggy Lee ! I was walking playing jazz on my boom-box radio (99.10 fm Portland,or) when a young woman stopped me and showed me a CD (Melody Gardot) whom I never heard of. Now I heard her and she's one fine jazz/blues singer!

I've watched this video several times but i never realised that there's like a drum percussion type instrument at her feet that she's drumming with.
What i love about her is the diversity in instruments. she plays piano and guitar. she looks at everything to make music. not just the rhymes, lyrics or sound. everything.

This woman sounds better live than in any track. She carries sensuality and her experiences with her. Truly authentic.

Not a problem. She really is an incredible person. I've filmed over a hundred of her shows. She studies them and tweeks her performance until she gets exactly what she wants. Needless to say, she's pretty damn good at tweeking.

Thank God I found this chick. I was in one of my favorite indie record stores yesterday and her Worrisome Heart album was playing over the speakers. I thought it was Norah Jones, but then I realized it wasn't her because this grooves like something racy. Love it :-)

The arrangements on this Melody Gardot album are stunning. even cinematic.
You really enter a world. Only the best people get this kind of arranging treatment on CD's.
Like Tom Waits One From The Heart......

Melody has been such a great inspiration to my life. when I was 19 and had a MySpace music page she had visited and left me a very encouraging message. I got turned on to her music and have been a fan ever since.
this is my favorite performance of hers, having been a trumpet player myself I appreciate how the horns, the bass, guitars, and vocals are all blended superbly.
if you like this and are just getting turned on to her may I suggest you also check out love me like a river does, and goodbye; my two other favorite songs of hers.

I know she's amazing I came across melody a few years ago it was my neighbour knocked my door with 2 concert tickets, well he only gave them to me and told me to take a friend as he had bought them to take his girlfriend but they had to cancel due to personal circumstances. Well I hadn't heard of her b4 so I wasn't as excited as I would be today 🙆🙆 I have totally fallen in love with her music it's so soothing so real, if you get the chance read about her life story she's a warrior through n through a real classy women with spirit so strong, such an inspiration love her dearly. xxx

She's so talented. I first heard her stuff on late night tv filling a space between programs. She was singing goodnigte. It woke me up, made me sit upright in bed and right her name down - I've adored her ever since. So talented.
And this is my favourite of her songs. Such a great performance.

@33rdPatriot Google her and you'll read about a terrible accident she suffered in 2003 causing head and spinal cord injuries, causing her to spend a year in the hospital and have re-learn everyday motor skills. Music was her therapy. On result of the accident was acute sensitivity to light - that's why the glasses. She is not only an amazing musician, she's an amazing person as far as I am concerned.
