The problem here isn't even preference at this point. You've titled your series the ABCs of metal and so far only the first song has been metal. Potential nitpicks like "sounding radio" or any others are not the issue. e.g. A radio-friendly band like Amaranthe could have been done. I will agree that this song isnt the most metal song they have, Mr. Highway, violence, i'm made of wax, are easily more metal overall, but the instrumentals to almost all of their songs, downfall included are very metal. Downtuned guitars, distortion, breakdowns, all fundamental to what is considered metal to modern standards

@@AllThingsEntertaining, I love the song but they are not metal and he asking for metal.
OH MY GOD YES!!!!!!!! A favourite from my younger days!
They were really great live, I saw them open for Avenged Sevenfold. Paranoia is my favorite song by them. 🤘
You really should listen to this band more it’s super underrated
I'm a year late, but did you seriously say underrated??? ADTR is at the top of their genre which is post hardcore. You may just live in an area where ppl dont listen to this kind of music, but their kings of making very melodic, post hardcore songs
DarcPSN well I’ve never met anyone or heard anyone listen to them, everytime I bring them up people are like “huh”? Or “never heard of them” and it’s annoying cuz they’re a fucking great band
@@CamDewsh Had the same in Norway for years. Only the people who were emo back in 08-10 (like me) knew them. Theyre fairly big on a bigger scheme though. Theyre HUGE in their genre. Saw them a couple years ago at a european festival, and the stage was packed. And they delivered for sure!
Run The Meows yeah I found them maybe about sophomore year near the summer good times. Great band
I wouldn't call ADTR underrated... especially at the time of this video, they were probably the top post hard-core band in the genre.
For E:
Ensiferum - Into Battle or Lai Lai Hei
Wait... STONE COLD METAL. That banjo? Ufff... so sick
Existing in exile
F:
Fit For a King
Fit For an Autopsy
For Today - “Break the Cycle”
Fear factory for f bro 🤘💀🤘
100% Agree!
DEFAULT JUDGEMENT!!!
Alex...listen to us bruh!!!!! React to some FEAR FACTORY!!!!!!!!
Ya cars gary numan cover
Got to hang with this band b4 they signed. Fun to be around. They have this energy off stage as well.
This song and the album it's on have been so influential in my life that I have the album art done as a half sleeve.
How does D start A Day to Remember???????
Typically, when things have "A" "An" "The" at the start of the title, they get categorised by the first letter of the second word.
Because "A" "An" "The" are nothing words.
Should have paid attention in first grade buddy.
@@PresumablyTunes I understand that but there are plenty of bands that start with the letter D and no need to to start excluding A, An, this early.
Meh! Move on
E
Entombed-wolverine blues
Ensiferum- heathen horde
Enslaved- path to vanir
I'm asking for From Afar, but YES, Heathen Horde is perfect ^^
Ain't gonna happen... It will be Elton John.
@@MetallIstKrieg Most likely... but Ensiferum would be so perfect... he even likes Wintersun XD
E=ENTER SHIKARI /song redshift.. This band had really unique sound in each album
ERRA. U won’t regret it.
Truth.
Not metal
MaddDogg316 how is ERRA not metal😂😂😂
@@alexandercarlinmusic9467, how are they metal? They are prog rock/prog core. I dont hear much metalcore in what they do.
yes.
This song was also my first intro to ADTR and ive been listening ever since. Love these guy's music.
elite metalheads who say "this isn't metal" are the worst ...the worst!!!! oli sykes has a song for you :p
I can't believe you chose this Sum 41-sounding garbage and not one of the DT's...
I thought the entire point of this was to react to bands he hasn't heard yet. He has already reacted to Dream Theater...
@@charli_snow yeah he reacted to wither. But come on
Reacting to Wither as a first DT song is like reacting to Nothing Else Matters as a first song of Metallica, just sayin'
Cry
Lot of crybabies here today
No just people with good taste
Dex I consider metalcore being metal. Killswitch Engage, Trivium, All That Remains, As I Lay Dying are ALL metalcore so they’re not metal to you? Interesting take sir
@@djentyman4002 not all metalcore bands qualify as metal as they don't have enough metal influence. ADTR is an example... Trivium and All that Remains do have more than sufficient metal influence, sound and structure
Kain R Heinlein ADTR has a little bit of everything incorporated into their sound. Kind of like Volbeat. They put some different things in to please a lot more people. ADTR is still a metalcore band and are at the same time a pop punk band. If you listen to a hand full of their songs then you’ll see that
@@djentyman4002 "a little bit of everything" while being all scene trash. Such variety. Point is they aren't metal
Loving the abcs so far! Keep it up!

E - Eluveitie - Inis Mona. Throw some folk- / pagan metal in there
I’m not hating,Alex! Lol Just don’t think this should be classified as metal. It’s definitely just heavier sounding pop-punk. Reminds me of New Found Glory
I live 45 minutes away from Ocala. Grew up with this band on my iPod
I didn't know you hadn't listened to A Day To Remember before this. Welcome to the best band in the world.
"The ABC's of Metal"...
2 (and some say 3) out of the first 4 bands aren't metal...
definitely 3. Not sure what to call Beartooth exactly, but they're just not quite metal
'Bear' rock?
Iwrestledabearonce, Minus the Bear :p
@@sopwithsnoopy8779 Haha. If you want to hear a funny story, find the story about how Minus The Bear got their name :D
if you use wiki and look at what genres they've been called, adtr and beartooth are metalcore, and coheed and cambria are prog metal
@@PresumablyTunes, coheed is prog rock, not metal. ADTR is post hardcore, a punk sub genre. For some reason the majority of people like to blanket a lot of these hardcore punk bands under metalcore and thats inaccurate. There is very little about ADTR that is metalcore.
Well, you did pick one of their most pop-ish songs from that era, and most definitively from that album :D
[E] - Emmure _ we were just kids. Please please

A day to Remember - 2nd Suck! The most powerfull song
SOOOOO JACKED to see that you reacted to ADTR!! Love these guys!!
This is one of my favourite songs from A Day To Remember
Adtr isn't metal tho I thought this was going to be the ABC's of metal?
they have been, this song isn't. IMO
If you want to be pedantic, they're also part metalcore which has some metal in it.
There like metalcore/ pop punk 😂 I just personally wanted to see some METAL 🤷♀️
I liked what you said in the end. I'm disappointed it wasn't Death but it's not like I've been cheated on, it's not the end of the world lol! When we love a band we want to share our passion with someone who's showed some interest and an open mind, and now even if I don't like some of the last bands, I still like these reactions and I'm sure we'll get there.
Just another thing I want to say, I don't have any social media other than a YT account, and I don't want to, I'm sorry :) still, polls can be made here on YT as well, would be great to try 🤘🏻
Right band but wrong song.
Mr Highway's thinking about the end is way better and proper heavy

Bad vibrations tho....
A Day To Remember actually writes the lyrics to their song using a pop formula.
A DAY TO REMEMBER!!! favorite band!!! Ayyyy
Maybe will see Exodus tomorrow?
Zockor most likely it will be emmure🤷🏻♂️
@@roybuhrman8356 and what a f#% is that?
Zockor a band😂

Good luck with that... lol.
When you have bands like, Death, Dark Tranquillity, Dream Theater, Dimmu Borgir and so on, I really want to know who the people are voting for crap like this. Come on, people! This is just sad!
stfu street pooper
Strange, for someone with The Guy as his profile pic.
I highly suggest Mr. Highway’s Thinking About The End by ADTR
Just listen to all of a day to remember, seriously one of the best bands to exist
I never used to like a day to remember but ove rthe years they grew on me... and a really good live show
Try ADTR-All I Want
okay group, but probably not for this channel, this would funnel more into "Pop punk", a better decision would have been Dream Theater or DevilDriver
Demon Hunter, Deicide, Diecast, A Different Breed of Killer, Dark Tranquility, Dagon (A little underground but still), Deeds of Flesh, Death (Godfathers of death metal obviously), Devin Townsend, Dark Oath, Dimmu Borgir, Dream Theater, Dream Evil, Dying Fetus, among others.
Delain for some Symphonic metal
So many people asked for Devin Townsend Project...
kiddies on Instagram have never seen Devin Townsend break out epic rock poses
And lost os Death requests
I've been a Devin Townsend fan for 20 years so yeah.. I requested that 😁
Or Death
Nobody cares stfu
IN FLAMES - I AM ABOVE
This song (and the video) is perfect.
My first band I ever listened to! 🤘🤘
C'mon man people of Instagram do it wrong again !!!!!!!!
Best way would be to make a RUclips video with what bands to choose from and look through the comments. These Instagram youngin's don't know shit about metal apparently
Just subbed and haven’t stopped watching any of your videos they’re amazing reactions
What the hell? You couldn't even get a band that actually starts with the letter D? Dark Tranquility, Devildriver, Death, Devin Townsend, Demons & Wizards..... C'mon man. Are you gonna use Iron Maiden for M?
