- The new installment of the Samurai Shodown series finally came out on June 2019. This latest episode is not a reboot as many may thought, It's actually a new addition to the series rich but very confusing timeline. So here's the Samurai Shodown 2019 story explained.

Clever story telling, Neo SNK actually loves and respects SNK.
@Frax If you even knew the amount of financial and copyright problems that SNK went through by merging with other companies in order to survive all this years, you'd understand.

@@AVPboy6754 I know that way too well. SNK had a lot of bad luck through the 90s despite making many successful titles. Plus they would end up being bought out by Aruze in 2000 who in turn pulled the plug on them one year later.
Much of SNK would join together to form Playmore and would go to buy much of SNK to form SNK Playmore. Eventually they would drop the Playmore bit and become SNK once more. Tragic yeah but I admire them.
@@MegamanNG I think it’s because most of their franchises are fighting games and from well past the 90s, fighting games have become niche.
The esthetic of this game is amazing.
It feels like something straight out of a manga and the atmosphere really helps it.
I've never heard much about this series other than this game and now I wish to learn more about it.

Shoryu, I have followed & enjoyed the entire Blazblue lore from all 4 games. This is *nothing* to me.

Gonna come back to this another time, just bought the game on my Switch.
The hardest thing about being a Blazblue lore fan, is explaining it to people who wish to learn more lol

I’ve been a Blazblue fan for a bit of while. The lore can definitely be difficult to explain but, nonetheless it was noteworthy series.
I have to wonder if that renowned swordsman Haomaru was looking for was actually Mitsurugi from soul calibur? Just a thought since he crossed into SC6.

@@ShoryuGame is possible but cant happened in actual canon. soul calicur is from late 15 hundreds to early 16 hundreds. sam show is in the late 17 hundreds. is know is a fun idea, unless they can time travel.
Haohmaru is based on the legendary swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. Endlessly searching for strong opponents is kinda his thing, so it's quite possible he never found what he was looking for, but did end up saving the world a few times along the way.
@@Iceaiden Yeah, none of the SC crossovers are canon, we also got Spawn, Link, Heihachi and even Star Wars.
@@Iceaiden well Nakoruru got to KOF 14 through a mishap in the spacetime so that's a possibility but we may also need to take dimension hopping into account.

Basically not reboot but a story tie in to the SS games and lore. Amazing work as always.

Considering that Season 3 is here and we're getting more characters, it just makes the game's story worthwhile. At least Iroha is FINALLY canon and I mean freaking finally. And there's a rumor that Amakusa may be joining but if he does, this will throw the story to the trash because since this takes place after 5 and before 1, I don't know.
I will always love the stories of the Samurai Shodown universe. They are the best representation of such colorful, interesting and foreboding events and their characters have awesome backstories and designs. I always remember the time when I am playing them in arcades that they make my excitement increase especially when I am able to finish a character story and see its ending.

Samsho is one of the fighting games more important of all time for their charismatic characters and the story that involve everyone include the DLC's.

Been binging the Samurai Shodown Lore series and the fact that we're getting a Season Pass 3 for this game AND the fact that a character from Last Blade is coming to this game, I think it's fair you should do a focus on The Last Blade series. It was made by SNK and has an interesting story. If anything, SNK should bring The Last Blade back.

Bro this is incredible man. This is great work. Thank you for taking the time to inform us. I think Samurai Shodown story is very underrated but it’s probably because of the back and forth. They should do a movie or series that ties these events and prepare us with the next game and proceed without the back and forth story.

Really wished that SamSho did another collab in KOFAS. BTW, could you do lore for KOF EX/EX2 ? It’s a short arc of NESTS Saga and I really love to know more on the (forgotten) characters; Moe Habana, Reiji Oogami, Miu Kurosaki, Jun Kagami and Sinobu Amou. I really believe that these chars have so much potential tho. TYID. 🥺

Planning to buy a fighting game for the PS4, and I love the aesthetic of this game. How's the gameplay?
The gamelplay is very fateful to the original SamSho games. Very simple combos and executions, the focus is on the timing and the reads. It's very different compared to other fighting games, and that's what makes it great.

Hey shoryu game was wondering what is your favorite snk character of all time or fighting game chrachter of all time in that matter
I really dislike games that do this, having new games be prequels to old games but still continue the story and give zero contexts to where it takes place, and I hate what snk has done with their recent games "stories" like no actual story mode just an arcade mode where it really doesnt tell you which characters actual matter. And plus I really dislike when they say they wanna get new players to the franchise....yea making a game that's takes place before the first game but is a sequel to the 5th and doesnt even explain its games story or lore to you

Samurai Showdown : Covid 19 but consider Dark cloud spread around the world still far worst than covid 19 right? because as we normal human not as good as Samurai Showdown characters.(Guns cant kill supernatural)

So Genjuro is probably absent from the first game becuase he was injured. But what about Yashamaru? Do you have a theory for that? I love his design and when i heard there would be a Samurai Shodown team in Kof I was hoping he would be part of it. But nope it was Darli boring dagger because strong woman... So, do you think SNK cares about yashamaru or he is just a one game character? Sorry i guess those were two questions.
I wish I can answer that. I have no idea. I do like his fighting style and his weapon is pretty unique too.
