My first car was a new 1978 GE Sigma. Loved it. I remember having to tow my mates XD Falcon regularly with as it broke down so often. I've had 6 Sigmas over the years. Now in 2020 I'm hook on Mitsubishi cars. Currently I have 3 Lancers. 2014, 2015 and 2017 models.

I LOVED the Peter Wherret one.....sat in once.
      Recaros....😍
      I had a 2.6 GH, GJ (?)
Bastard, fatter, lazier, cousin of these, in shape....
      Gawd, it was a slug...🤣
I forgave it, it's mechanical lack of balls, for the lovely, immaculate, blue velour interior and functioning aircon.

Beautiful example of a factory turbo GH sigma, only 500 were ever built. My first car was a 2 litre GH Sigma, got a 2.6 litre 4G54 from "pinchapart" in Melbourne fully rebuilt with forged pistons, removed counter balance shafts, fitted high volume oil pump from a canter truck, bolted on all the factory Turbo gear to it except turbo itself which I upgraded to a water cooled Garret T3 with a 0.63 exhaust housing, changed the head to a larger valved pajero one, changed gearbox to a supra 5 speed all alloy, Ford 9 inch diff conversion, factory zenith carby was terrible always going out of tune due to change in climate from one day to the next, nothing a gas research straight gas system couldn't fix which also got around the EPA requirements, 23 PSI boost up from the factory 7 PSI, in the end pulled a 12.7 second quarter mile at Heathcote. Why a Sigma? because it was the largest 4 cylinder engined car available and in my case beat most 350 Chev powered Monaro's at the Dandenong drag meets.I remember seeing the sigma with the number plate you mentioned "cachme" in a magazine (fast fours and rotaries) which also featured my car "Hybrid" (a culmination of a variety of species) never raced cachme as im based in Melbourne but would have been an interesting race.

I do possess a 1994 Mitsubishi Sigma SOHC. Nothing broke, only changed common things, brakes, tires and such. It rusted soso last year under the chassis, because of the friction of small dirt during all those years the factory protection went away on a left and right straight lines. But during a 2 month of weak raining, I cleaned and dried it not properly and then i painted it with "antirust" paint, 7 days ago i found 2 small holes, i did opened the weak places too and fixed them all yesterday, I was able to put some real antirust from the upper side of the wielding (upper side of the holes weren't even rusted...). It's a car made to last, Japanese and Scandinavian people really know their stuffs back there. I do suggest everybody to try and drive one of those cars if the occasion present itself.

Wow a unicorn! Grew up seeing sigmas everywhere... The first time i saw one of these was on the legendary Aussie mini series ''blue murder'' (1995) The drug dealer Allan Williams (Marcus Graham) is being chased( he gets away too :) by XD falcons in a Sigma Turbo! The footage was sped up, but the sound of an ''Astron'' engine sort of sounded right and it looked tough as hell! beautiful car! Keep up the good work lads!

Bring back fender mounted turn signal indicators. With every man and his dog having a dash cam these days, it would certainly help with insurance claims if you can prove that you had your indicator on, and a dash cam would capture that.

My very first car was a 1989 Sigma. I bought it in 1998. The air suspension went out after 2 months. It didn't stop me from driving it tho ! It was a damn rough ride after that. I live in the US btw. I think I only ever saw the 1 other Sigma that had my body style. They only made the model I had for 2 years, 1989 and 1990.

G'day boys I used to have a Sigma Turbo in silver, bought it in '91 sold it in 2001, sadly. I noticed that the turbo light on the dash isn't working as it did from the factory - it is the pressure switch on the back of the inlet manifold, originally barrel shaped and variable, so when positive pressure first started the light would glow dimly (you couldn't really see it in the daytime), and as you squeezed the accelerator, the light progressively glowed brighter. Look into a variable pressure switch because it was one of the best parts of the car - you could feel the boost in your seat as the light brightened!

I nearly bought one in Cairns back in the day. About '83.
    Nice car
Except for the insane overheating every few kms. Let alone if you gave it stick.
The salesman had to try to get me back to the dealership from that piece of crap three times....
    I didn't buy it....
I adore Sigma's. This was the pick of the litter.
I mean, early fucking turbo days. So cut em some slack.
That advert on tv as a kid. This model smashing thru glass wall...
I though it was the BEST looking car I'd ever seen. Those four headlights.
Coolest thing on these is the twin tone and the fucken wheels....😍🥰

I had a few GH Sigmas in my time.I had one far rarer than this. I bought a GH Sigma Turbo 2.6 one of only 12 made. Not the Peter Wherrett and not the two tone Factory Sigma Turbo for which they made 500. Our rare all red 2.6 was made in conjunction with Peter Brock. I took it to the Brock Shop in Brisbane back in the late 80's to give it a tickle.Did flat 15's with a slipping clutch, and air cond.

The engine is an astron engine
4G63 is a siruos engine and the early 4G63 was single over head cam 12 valve
I have owned 2 Japanese sigmas which are called galants over there
Engines are 4G63 single overhead cam 12 valves and gt4 turbo
The oil cooler he showed you is the same one the cars I had used but they were mounted behind the lower valance
In front of the radiator not like his one
The Peter Werrit cars had red painted details on the wheels as well but pretty much exactly what he has there
    One very nice car
