I was a big fan of Darren Gough during his playing days. He was a lion hearted cricketer and always gave his very best against the Aussies. Had a fantastic bowling action, bowled lovely yorkers. Won matches for England in Australia single handed. Being an Yorkshire man he also speaks knowledgably as the great Geoff Boycott.
As a bowler he was as good as the famed Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Courtney Walsh, Curtley Ambrose and Alan Donald.

Some guys don't have to be perfect and they're still no1 and must have in your celebration or musings - they go right at it from the heart. I've listened to a ton of comments but something about Darren Gough - that honesty, whole heartedness and passion - he is among the ones you'd want to listen in (esp. among the ex players, even if like others he may not have best comments, but you know from a lover of cricket he is how those viewing from outside see it). I'd hope he gets into straight up commentary ahead of some (not sure why) blokes for e.g. during Ind Aus broadcast. Cheers Darren!

I shaped my bowling action after Gough. Most bowlers would have the typical 2 finger hold, Gough had 3 finger, middle on seam, index and ring on the sides. I found it so cool, Used it during high school cricket. Thanks for the test match memories Gough, always a class act.

One of my favourite ever England players. One of the few guys in our team that stood up to that great Australian team in the 90’s.

India are way ahead of any time, d mental strength n conditioning of d players, d willpower n domestic structure is second to none, Australia n other teams have a lot to catch up now, specially in test cricket, just look at india's bench strength man, amazing

very good analytical unbiased sum-up of the series and definitely one of the best in recent years. See Ashes was and will be a good series but this kind of thrill a minute roller coaster ride type of series we hardly have witnessed in a long long time and the icing on the cake is no top players in indian team except a couple and almost young and debutants won the series, this was more like a fight between david v's goliath or i should say Mohammad Ali v's George Foreman in Kenya.
If i could sum up this series I would say only these 3 words: resilient, fearless, exhaustive (both mentally and physically).

But this should be now cautiously approached..
    My suggestion.
Make 3 india teams..we have the depth..
Play one as the international..the other two match ready by playing against each other.
Then we can do justice to the talent and enormous depth in India..otherwise only the lucky will make it
