Everyone needs to stop making polite laughter when bob interrupts with something stupid. Let him hang in silence and let him learn to stop stepping on funnier peoples lines. Speaking every thought that pops into your head is fine when you are doing your crowd work in a night club, but in this setting just saying out loud every thought that pops into your cobwebbed skull ruins other peoples better lines.
