    Sir..I am waiting for your reply
    வண்டி சீனாவில் விர்க்கப்பட்டது
    Vehicle is sold in china
    இதுல doubt இது past ah present ah ??? is um இருக்கு and sold ன்னும் ஓரு past verb உம் இருக்கு இ...இது என்ன tense...
    This is past tense ன்னு my mam sonnaga,,
    நா அவங்க கிட்ட கேட்டேன்,,அதான் past temse ன்னு சொல்ரீகளே அதுல sold இருக்கு ok,, but past temse ல எப்டி is வரும் ,,was தானே வரணும் ன்னு கேட்டேன், அவங்க எனக்கு சரியா விளக்க வில்லை...pls i need ur clarification

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  3 года назад

      "Sold" is in the main verb Past participle form. "Is" is the supporting verb. The supporting verb shows the tense. So this sentence is in present tense.
      1. "Vehicle is sold in china" is in Passive voice. "Is" indicates the tense. Present tense.
      2. The Active voice for this sentence is "This company sells the vehicle in China". "sells" indicates the tense. Present tense,

I have come late.. illa "i came late "..in these two, which one is correct sir..1st period vandhu recent past thane..so namma present perfect la sonna crt ah illa pastla soldradhu than crt ah .sir..?

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  4 года назад

      "I came late" is correct because 1st got over and the second period has already begun.
      If the 1st period is still going on you can say, "I am sorry I have come late" That is a recent past but within the 1st period.

    Thank you very much Jalal Sir for the very great lesson and your time.
    You are helping many English learners.
    Could you please explain to me the difference between
    1.We have lived in Colombo for 3 years
    and
    2. We have been living in Colombo for 3 years.
    Which is commonly used?

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  3 года назад +2

      We have lived in Colombo for three years. You are talking about the completed years of living. You still live there.
      We have been living in Colombo needs some more explanation. Like this.
      We have been living in Colombo for three years but we are yet to buy a house.
      We have been living in Colombo for three years but still we do not feel like we belong there.

And also, it will give you some insight into yourself as to which lesson number got the most views and comments. Based on that, you can make a track on that content for your future videos. Great teaching sir...I am admiring you. And I have one doubt sir, hope you will make clear of that. At end of this video you have mentioned that "Hope you found this lesson useful and to your liking" like is the state verb - we cannot add -ing forms to that...how you are claiming.

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  2 года назад

      Here liking is used as a noun not as a verb. The dictionary meaning of liking is: favorable regard : FONDNESS, TASTE

    • @anandruban8348
      @anandruban8348 2 года назад

      @@MJalalEnglishforTamils Thanks for your reply sir, but gerunds can be used as a subject, only by using action verbs I thought. Could we use state verbs as gerunds??? I don't know pls clarify me.

    • @MJalalEnglishforTamils
      @MJalalEnglishforTamils  2 года назад

      Example sentences:
      He had a greater liking for law.
      He took a liking to the newcomer.
      I hope you found my lesson to you liking.
      "Liking" here is used as a noun. Not a Gerund.

      Action Verbபில் உள்ள எல்லா wordsகளுக்கும் இரண்டு பாகங்கள் உள்ளன.
      முதல் பாகத்தில் “Do” வோ, “Does”சோ, மறைமுகமாக இருக்கும்
      For example:
      Work = “Do” or “Does” + work.
      Play = “Do” or “Does” + play.
      அவைகள் ஒரு வாக்கியத்தை Question ஆகவோ, Negative ஆகவோ ஆக்கும் போது வெளிப்படையாகின்றன. அவைகளில்தான் tense ஐ கொண்டுவரவேண்டும் . For example.
      Does he go to school?
      Did he go to school yesterday?
      Do they go to school?
      Did they go to school yesterday?
      “Go” should not the changed to past tense (“went”). The “Do” and “does” are supporting verbs and these will take the tenses; not the action verb.
      Positiveவான வாக்கியத்தில் Tenseஐ Action Verbபில் தான் கொண்டுவரவேண்டும் . Positive sentenceகளில் “Do” and “does” இரண்டிற்கும் உபயோகம் இல்லை.
      “I was eat” என்பது தவறு. “Eat” should be changed to “ate” in Past tense sentences. There is no use for any “be” verb like “am” “is” “was” “are” “were” in Positive sentences.
      I suggest you to read and listen to a lot of English. Then, you will understand grammar easily. Please don’t try to understand English through Grammar because that step will take a lot of your time. Grammar is difficult and so don’t take the difficult path.
