    Hi Adam. Great vid. Is it easy to get long term accommodation in Arawa? If so how did you do it?

    • @adamconstanza
      @adamconstanza  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for that, the organization I was there with organized my long term accommodation, however I think it would be fairly easy once in country or even by reaching out to guesthouse and asking them if they know of anything.

    Do you have any tips for visiting the south eastern tip of bougainville? I see there are a bunch of small islands scattered across the south eastern tip but some of them seem to belong to solomon islands. Are there any Bougainville islands down there and how to get there?

    • @adamconstanza
      @adamconstanza  4 года назад

      You're right, some are within Bougainville and some within the Solomon Islands. I visited a number of them, as far as the Shortland Islands, organized with someone in central Bougainville with access to a boat, plus, they also help to organize the customs/border paperwork too.

      Adam Constanza I do like how the traditional villages are up front about pre arranging visits! The native american reservations could stand procedures like that in places... Spent some time working with a couple tribes, and how typical I would tell short-term guests about being respectful here or there for various reasons - next minute they’ve walked right thru or come back later en masse taking photos, etc. disgraceful . blah blah. white man . blah blah . But I digress.

    • @adamconstanza
      @adamconstanza  4 года назад +1

      @@chrissonnenschein6634 that doesn't sound ideal and while living in Bougainville it's one of the things that really stood out to me, that it took time to build relationships and trust, but as you did, more and more opportunities became available. I think I said pre-arrange about 400 times in the video, but the point I was trying to hit home was it's not a tourist destination that's set up where you simply walk in as and when you please, things take time and the more you can organise in advance the better it is for everyone involved.
