  • “Dairy is probably one of the most unnatural products that humans consume. It has been normalized because it has become a widespread cultural practice, but that in no way means that it is normal. Milks are designed by nature to be consumed by species-specific infants.” - Dr. Milton Mills
We are so fortunate to have a guest who was with us when it all started. He was our very first guest on the Switch4Good podcast, so it’s only fitting that he should join us for our very special 200th episode. You will even see him on our Switch4Good staff page, that’s how closely we work with him.
We’re so thrilled and truly honored to have with us, the esteemed Doctor and vegan activist, Dr. Milton Mills! For those of you who missed our first episode, Dr. Mills earned his medical degree from Stanford University and did his Internal Medicine residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He now practices critical care medicine in the D.C. area.
Dr. Mills was also the lead plaintiff in PCRM’s lawsuit asking for warning labels on milk, and he also stars in the very excellent documentaries “What the Health” and “The Invisible Vegan.”
Tune in to this very special, must-listen-to episode as Dr. Mills shares his boundless wisdom with us!
✅ What we discuss in this episode:
    - How he started his journey to veganism and the impact it had on his health.
    - The advances Dr. Mills has witnessed in the vegan movement.
    - Why Dr. Mills chose to become a doctor.
    - The myriad reasons human beings are meant to eat plants exclusively.
    - Why bovine lactate is completely unnatural for humans to consume.
    - How bovine mRNA fragments could be responsible for the long-term harmful effects of dairy consumption.
    - The meaning of “dietary racism.”
    - Why dietary racism persists.
    - How BIPOC children are placed at a disadvantage by being forced to consume dairy milk.

I appreciate that Dr. Mills is a Christian as well as a vegan, and doesn't see a conflict between the two. I'm a Christian and started eating plant based for health reasons, but after seeing the factory farming footage a few years ago, it gives me another reason to eat wfpb. I don't always do it perfectly, but am trying to get there.

David talks about stuff I agree, and actually, my final push was the spiritual connection and being aligned with the overarching energy of love and wisdom.
I also ask Mother Father God for strength to stay on track.

I was one of those kids that was forced to have dairy milk on my lunch tray in school. I, as a 40 year old adult, can remember several times when I went through the lunch line in school and the cafeteria lady made me go back and get dairy milk carton. I would either give my milk to other students or open it and put napkins in it to soak up the milk because I didn't want to drink it. Dairy milk made me sick back then. Would have been nice to not have stinky gas etc the rest of the school day when I was forced to drink it. Thanks for fighting for kids like me! I will be watching The Invisible Vegan soon. Thanks!

Something he is not pointing out is it is actually the parents decision whether their children eat school lunch. They can pack a lunch for their children and choose to not give them dairy. So, yes schools should offer non- dairy options but it ultimately goes back the home that determines what kids eat. Not the school system.

Dairy cows are the best taken care of animals in all the farming community. They cannot give good milk if they are unhealthy or stressed. Dairy cows in general are treated better then most pets!

What difference does it make what type of jaw and teeth an animal has for what type of food they should eat? What about a jawless carnivorous hagfish, or a toothless carnivorous spider, or a massive jaw and toothed herbivorous hippopotamus, or the hundreds of carnivorous plants?
