I've been testing beta 1.6 since July. Got a 100 plus hours into it. Haven't touched the release version since I got the beta downloaded. Its fantastic. Best yet by far. Love the bumps on the last turn at Sebring
@@Super123ps Sorry to be confusing. I meant that the sound FX quality is what bothered me. All sound FX is significantly important to the racing experience, especially the rubber meeting the road at different velocities and angles. Compared to something like iRacing, AMS2's tire sounds leave much to be desired. On the track, there aren't enough variances for me to understand how much traction can not only be felt, but heard. The quality of the sound itself currently feels like an inaccurate representation of real life slip or screech sounds. And when going off-track theres this muddy crunchy mushy sound as the car bobs like a boat in thick water. To me the off-track sounds immediately make the game feel "cheap" even though AMS2 is far from that in most other aspects and remains to be one of my all-time favorite sims. Plus AMS2 is an incredible VR experience. If the sounds were top tier, it would make the entire experience even better. I'm hoping the V1.6 update includes a redesign of these sounds.
FIY 1.6 LMDh will not give you more power boost with ERS anymore, they only substitute ICE power for fuel economy :) Thanks for the long display of the update!!

Everything from the handling, the AI, the sound (esp when you're in a pack, you hear the sound go from one headphone side to the other), the car and track selection screens. Its all the best yet. Great work Reiza
16:50 - The Porsche behind flashing his lights at you is a nice touch! 22:00 - I think I read Reiza have changed battery deployment to mimic IRL now (so it will take over some of the power delivery so the combustion engine doesn't have to work so hard, instead of the F1 style ERS boost), so to use less fuel you're better off using higher deploy on your battery to supplement your ICE usage. Also the wheel display has a fuel delta on it (just above the big SOC%), so you can just see if you're gonna make the end or not.
Just FYI: The ERS deploy no longer gives extra power, but supplements the ICE power to the same maximum in v1.6. It just influences fuel economy that way. :)

iracing nerd here. i picked up ams2 about a week ago. its so refreshing and perfect to just hop on and drive. my one issue is when at limit the ffb does get a bit filtered and loses a bit of data which then usually leads to a little slide "exhibit A 0:36". other than that its honestly been very fun to drive
Are all of the IMSA liveries part of this update? The reason I ask is for iRacing I supplied the actual livery artwork we used for the real McLaren on behalf of Pfaff, and as far as I'm aware nobody from AMS2 reached out to anyone. This explains why I noticed a few errors straight away.
After this content build, all AMS2 needs to complete the IMSA full circuit season is Mid Ohio for the tracks anyway. As for the Cars I would Love to see the New Ford Mustang GT3 and while you’re at FORD getting their permission for their Mustang, might as well ask for the blueprints to the Ford GTE/ GTLM😁
Fuel mapping doesn't actually save you fuel. It just reduces the max throttle input by 5% for medium and 10% for lean. All that does if you are not short shifting is just slow you down. It's been that way since PC2.
Well no ford or acura yet... but i think Lambo could have named water temperature something else... LOL all that aside, i'm very excited! Release it soon!
@simracing604 Big Mike !!!! hopefully you can give me some guidance. so i downloaded the new update and bought the DLC but long story short when i select all the classes for an IMSA race, the grid does not populate any LMP2 cars. I saw the new option to select how many cars of each class you would like to run and even when i do that it only populates GT3 and GTP cars... any idea how i can fix that ?

We’ll probably get Detroit later on in a free update post 1.6? Along with Mid-Ohio, Sonoma, Martinsville, Miami and St Petersburg from their other support series in another separate IMSA track pack later next year or 2026?
How does this feel in comparison to LMU? Seems this is the easiest comparison to make, and with LMU feeling so good in most ways, I would be interested in how AMS2 compares now? AMS2 tire model definitely left a weird taste in my mouth previously...

I’m seeing improvements in the AI navigating traffic but still seeing some issues with the AI in ‘trains’ running bumper to bumper into a braking zone, through a corner and accelerating away without the gap ever changing. Most noticeable with the 3 GT3’s at around the 17 minute mark. First combo I’m trying will be Caterham SuperLight around Oulton Park.

just a few suggestions for a new preview - night track with a lamborghini evo would be great, maybe a little rain to show the graphics - pit stop maybe - i know its hard but show a little crash would be fun also, the damage engine in this game is very realistic, one of the best and few out there, people never talk about this. thanks in advance
It appears to be the case from the video but I wanted to ask to be sure. Are there GTP/GTD specific classes that only have imsa series cars and liveries so you can have accurateish recreations of imsa races?
The thing that annoyed me about multi-class racing in AMS2 was the two choices of points systems didn’t make sense; you either had one overall points system or multiple classes score for one overall championship. So if you (or the AI) were in a GT3 competing against LMdHs for example either you score no points because you’re in the second half of the field in your lower class car or your class position counts towards overall points. I hope they’ve rectified that for 1.6 with overall and class points.

How does Automobilista 2 compare to something like ACC for GT3 racing? Anymore realistic in terms of physics or anything? I'm new to SimRacing and it feels like there are almost too many options now
Cant speak in terms of realistic but i enjoy the driving experience itself way more than in ACC, especially in terms of suspension or throttle feedback in FFB and audio. Driving feels livelier, while in ACC it can feel a bit sterlile imho to a certain point.
As someone who almost exclusively drove multiclass races in AMS 2 since I bought it back in 1.3.4, two years ago, seeing those prototypes getting by the GTs so easily is such a relief. I had feared this issue was still in the game, judging from the botched overtake preview stream of a couple months ago.
Feels like a miracle watching the LMDh AI actually manage to get past a GT3 without getting held up for half a lap, feels even more like a miracle seeing them get past a GT3 *mid-corner* without getting held up. I'm really hopeful that the AI will handle weather changes well, too, because as is it's basically impossible to race them with changing conditions and it really sucks for a sim that's focusing so much on endurance lately. My dream is to be able to have the full endurance experience with time of day and variable weather online with my friends, without having either the wet or dry half of the race be a slog because of the AI. We all race a lot in AMS2 together against the AI, but I've never been able to justify doing enduros together because of that

I'm driving with a Moza R12 and I have huge problems with oscillation in AMS2. When I take my hands off the wheel it tries to kill me. Seriously. Is this problem solved with 1.6 or are there other solutions for this!
You can try to play with some custom FFB files or you update your Moza Stuff to FFB 3.0 and adjust the settings accordingly. That improves the oscilliations a lot.
Your comments don't make that much sense to me. The thing with AMS2 was that you could overly push the car and slip angle and just keep gaining more grip, while at the same time the car feeling like it was always sliding. Is that corrected now? Doe the tires go over the edge but before that grip up without so much slide?
@@TeamSenke yes but the way he explained it previously isn't how the game drove previously. He was saying that you can lean on the car now, and with the v1.5 tire model you could lean all over the car to ridiculous levels, so that comment didnt make sense.
@@willielast coming with the next patch, hopefully in the next week or so. It'll be a paid DLC with Road Atlanta and Mosport (basically a dream track list)
Oh wow, the way you managed to keep up with the AI is something that just doesn't happen naturally in the current version. The AI seems to brake more realistically and have a more natural pace. And nice backmarker negotiation.
There is, on the tracks that have that LED Panel, it can shown what flag that part of the track current has. It also have Safety Car, but it can only happen if there's a major crash or a car is stuck in the Road.
@@barracadoseuze4213 flags and marshalling is absolutely key to motoring and it seems very poorly/patchily implemented in AMS2. I was hoping for big improvements in this area

Lets hope 1.6s release is a new beggining for AMS2, a lot of content, great sounds, graphics and now very good physics to pair all that

I didn’t see any Audi GT3’s unless I missed them. Are they going to be releasing with the 1.6 update as well?
He probably used the IMSA preset and there are currently no audis racing there iirc.

Oh wow, the way you managed to keep up with the AI is something that just doesn't happen naturally in the current version.
The AI seems to brake more realistically and have a more natural pace. And nice backmarker negotiation.
Are there yellow flags/cautions if the Ai crash?
Didn't see any, which is disappointing
There is, on the tracks that have that LED Panel, it can shown what flag that part of the track current has. It also have Safety Car, but it can only happen if there's a major crash or a car is stuck in the Road.
@@barracadoseuze4213 flags and marshalling is absolutely key to motoring and it seems very poorly/patchily implemented in AMS2. I was hoping for big improvements in this area

It would be nice the IA defend the position, they make mistakes or off-tracks
How does 1.6 handle VR?
The same, sebring is a little more demanding from other users experience
