Today’s tour of the reserve took me 4 hours and I walked 3.75 miles. This time includes stopping in bird hides to film the birds.
There’s a whole array of wintering birds here. Pintail, gadwall, wigeon, avocets, Whooper swans, barnacle geese, godwit, Goosander, gold crest and many more.
While at reserves, you always meet other like minded people. All friendly and happy to share what they have seen.
Walking in a nature reserve is a great way to get exercise and improve your physical health. The fresh air, natural surroundings and walking, helps reduce stress and improves your overall wellbeing. When you chat to people in the hides, you often here that they have taken up this new hobby, as it helps them with their stress …
Spending time in nature can provide a sense of peace and tranquility, helping to reduce stress and improve mental health.
Winter is a unique time of year, with different animals and plants in the nature reserve, and a change in the appearance of the landscape. The changing colours and patterns of the winter landscape are great for filming and taking photographs.
Walking in the reserve during winter provides an opportunity to observe the different birds and geese that survive in the colder months.
Do go along to your local RSPB reserve, they work extremely hard to protect the birds and provide a great place for you to see the wildfowl close up.

Lovely, just Lovely and relaxing 😌
It’s not meant to be out yet 🤣🤦🏻♀️ 6pm today it was meant to be . No idea how I did that ?
I’ve made it unlisted and will put it out at 6pm! Missed the algorithms 🤦🏻♀️
You’d think I’d know what I was doing ….
Hopeless. 😂
Thank you for watching and commenting and alerting me of my mistake.
@@NewnameSameme nice when ever posted 😊
@@chrisbuster6947 thank you. Just messes up the algorithms though 🤦🏻♀️ hey ho
Loved this x
Thank you. I’m not sure all this walking is good for me . Either that or I’m getting old 🤷🏻♀️😂😂
Can you fit in coffee and cake this week ? In your very busy life xx
Thanks Lisa, for this beautiful vlog, I presume that this fantastic footage was done with your super-duper repaired camera as it is magical. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Yes all on my P1000 Nikon.
I’m glad you noticed the difference. 📸
Thank you
Minsmere was the first reserve that I visited, as a child and a Y.O.C. member (proudly wearing my YOC Kestrel badge!).
I remember well the excitement of seeing Avocets for the first time.
It’s an amazing place…. And still has avocets
you do over the boarder too! Proper David Bellamy mode there! and becoming quite a videographer to boot - well done. Look forward to the next one, whenever wherever than will be...
I had a “day visa” so decided to make full use of it 😅
Thank you for your kind comments 📸
Such stunning footage from a beautiful location. The avocets looked so elegant on one leg. Such a pity there was some blue plastic on the ground where they were. Hopefully the wardens will be able to retrieve it at some point. I think you must have arrived at 'siesta time' as everything was asleep to start off with. Nature always seems to have the most amazing colours whether it be foliage or birds. These videos you have done over the winter months have been so enjoyable to watch plus they are so informative too. I have not heard of some of the birds you mentioned but I am not familiar with most birds. I cannot believe Sizewell was 15 miles away either!
Southwold lighthouse was 15 miles away. Amazing really.
Definitely siesta time.
Until i started going out to different places, I didn’t know either . It’s remembering then that’s the tricky bit.
