The fact that Kaeyra and Olivia went home so soon really illustrates what a bad vehicle Idol is for elevating actual stars. It's become a U.S. popularity contest (with all the baggage that entails) where star power is secondary, or tertiary.
When you were talking about the difference between a singer and a musician and you said "I maybe wrong, I don't know", it reminded me, I used to be wishy-washy, but now I'm not so sure. Okay, that's from stand up comic Emu Phillips. Regarding Kaeyra, I also think she was one of the best on that showstoppers show, but she just performed in Hawaii in the top 26, and with her and a number of others I thought the songs were such poor selections they didn't show off the singer's ability. I really think this is the point at which producers start giving certain contestants songs they think will get them eliminated, for whatever reason they do that. Unless I'm wrong about that and the contestant has control over what they sing.
@@JohanBesterYourVocalCoach That's pretty much what happened with Loren Allred when she was on The Voice. I don't know who selected the song that got her eliminated in the first live show, but she said she had numerous other performances and they only showed two, the terrific version of You Know I'm No Good, and the bland pop song, I forget what it was, after which she was eliminated. I think she felt they were trying to sabotage her. Of course, that's a different production company.
She's a beast. Definitely in my top 5.
Super, super good performance by KAEYRA. Your analysis is spot on. She has a great voice. Lovely to listen to.
Thank you very much for watching!
I AGREE 100%, SHE'S THE BEST!!!

Interesting comment... I don't think we'll ever fully know what happens behind the scenes in a show like that...

She’s the best. And they didn’t save her!!! That’s nutso.
I'd like to watch a reaction to Emma Bosse, she have a particular and different voice on American Idol
America & the Judges got it wrong by not putting her in the Top 12!
EMMA BUSSE PLEASE
😂😂😂😂
Well, she’s gone due to fickle voters 🥺
