Imagine training for this day, years and years. Then the day comes and you fail because of a small mistake. I cant imagine how they feel, must be heartbreaking.
Julian Keller as a skater myself I can say everytime I fall or get an obvious deduction I cry for a while and I only train for few months I can’t imagine what they go through
So In response yes it’s heartbreaking, it’s even worse.
Sorry I got into a rant in my response lol
Trust me it is I’m a skater myself. The amount of work you put into it is horrible the fact that if you even mess it up once you could be done is horrible.
It’s really horrible. In 2018, my mom convinced me that I still liked skating and not to quit (I stopped liking it because personal reasons and treatment), so I trained with another couch for a whole year at the backs of my actual couch and I perfected everything with her. Three weeks before the competition I realized that the competition was getting closer and I started feeling anxious and everything felt so overwhelming. I didn’t make it in the competition... all my hard work for nothing.
By the way, it was roller skating
I got teary eyes and I am not even interested in the Olympics.
This is beautiful and moving.

Nooo, why did u make me remember that..
Figure skating is one of my favourite sports to watch at the Olympics! this video is so nice
StaticLines this video definitely shows you how hard figure skating is and how a simple wrong edge or wrong stent can throw everything off causing you to fall. I competed for five years and can tell you it takes hundreds of falls to get that jump constant enough to put it into your program.
Not until they fall😭
It’s so satisfying
@@ashnkksmom2264 I am a skater rn and I compete and I fall all the time!❤🥰
for all the ppl who doesn't appreciate figure skaters let me tell you this,
these figure skaters go through alot, before they started training skating they need to sacrifice their selves first.
you see, the hardest thing to do in skating is the triple axel which is the 3 spin, one wrong move, you're over. if you fall from the triple axel your ankle will be injured.
you will have bruises every time you fall, your body will ache, if you're skating really fast just enjoying the air skating like you're so free and then you fell or your body got hit by the skate heels, then you'll bleed.
i'm telling this cuz i was an ice skater before, i trained for almost 2 years. in our country we have a competition its not on tv, youtube.
i won the 2nd place there, when i was training for the triple spin there is a rope attached to me and its tied in the roof so if i jump i have balance, and let me tell you after that ican't feel my body anymore like i have so many bruises.
its been 3 years since I haven't been on an ice rink.
I did figure skating up until a few years ago.
I was, and still am in love with the feeling of wind rushing past your ears.
And the feeling when you land a new jump.
I always got in trouble though.
I never focused enough.
I was never flexible enough.
I was never small enough.
I quit a few years ago to focus on swimming, a sport that I loved and was willing to sacrifice everything for.
I never stopped loving skating though.
I introduced all my friends to it, and many of them also fell in love with it, and was dedicated.
You are great
I just starting figure skating this year, and I hope to make it big one day!
@@baileyabrego7699 As long as you love it, and are willing to fall and put in your all, you will be able to make it big.
I’m still doing figure skating but I always have bruises on my leg and I almost always fall cuz I’m work on a flip but Spins are def the hardest thing to do especially when I fell on one and got stiches from it
They failed so many times.
But they never gave up

I'll be always mad at mother that she didn't take me on any sport training and now im 21 and im too old to be professional in any sport...Skating is awesome
TajgaNatural its only ever to late if you tell yourself that, you can do it just believe
I will not be professional athlete but I can be good amateur.
starting later can give you a stronger passion honestly, ive played soccer since kindergarten and this year was my last season (i’m a hs senior) and i was SO relieved when we played our last game. on the other hand i’ve swam for five years and i’m planning to swim in college because i really love it.
You can still take ice skating lessons there's some rinks that have beginner adult classes
I'm 14 and I want to start taking ice skating lessons then become a figure skater
Evgenia, Yuzuru, Javier, Shoma, Alina, Mirai, Nathan... so many amazing skaters with an amazing song. Thank you!

So, so beautiful to see you vidding real ice skaters! You truly captured the amazing dedication and strength all athletes in this sport possess -- seeing them fall and recover and bring entire routines to the end despite falling never fails to amaze me. I remember during that Pogorilaya FS I was in tears for her, kept wondering how she held on to the end of it. So much admiration for them all. Thank you so much for this beautiful, much needed tribute!

Oh wow wow please make more figure skating videos, this was awesome

As a figure skater myself I broke into tears during this. This is probably one of my favourite edits ever made
and people ask me why I love figure skating so much
I'm probably younger then all of those amazing people. But I'm so proud that every single one of them, got up and kept going even if they were in pain, or crying. That shows that they are amazing and strong people who don't give up.
This is the real masterpiece
My heart is broken (((
Please can u make some edit with Yuzuru&Zhenya

Tears of Medvedeva are heartbreaking. She is the best skater ever, she is a true artist, she has a brave heart and a deep soul and we can see it in every and each meaningful performance! There is no even one wrong movement. Everything os perfect and on its' place. Love her. She truly touches the hearts! 💓

Everyone sees the grace in Figure Skating but do they see the pain, the exhaustion, the blisters, the stress, the breakdowns, and the hard training to accomplish that grace? No. Judges with Figure Skating judge everything. To the single sequin on your costume that is out of place, to your focus. It takes months to practice for a program.

Not a a lot of people know how hard it is mentally to figure skate, sure it’s pretty but so many of us figure skaters are pressured by coaches, friends and even family on the daily to do certain moves and look good. And I will always remember the way so many people clapped when skaters fell at stars on ice bc they wanted them to get back up and keep fighting. We might fall but we are just improving, falling is apart of life but we just need to learn to get back up every damn time no matter how bad it is :)
