@@jfranklinlewis yes. Just yelling "Fire" a bunch is not something I see in Scripture and smacks of emotionalism and crowd hype, which I see from the churches that have fallen into false teachings and doctrines, and it worries me. Aldersgate Renewal Ministry is/was a charismatic group in the UMC, and they had a conference with some non-methodist charismatic who taught that we can command angels (and probably other false doctrine, I stopped looking when I found that), and I don't want that influence getting into the GMC! So, I'm not fond of it.
It sounds like you would be one who says "they must be drunk" when the Holy Spirit filled the disciples and they spoke all the different languages. You are entitled to your negative opinions, criticism, and lack of love for brothers and sisters who worship differently than you. I saw passion in worship. I saw joy in worship. Most of all, I saw love for God's children. ❤
@@eileenthrift8259 hmmm, yes, how dare I contend for the faith that was delivered to the saints once for all. Or, why should I watch out for false prophets, as Jesus instructed? I'm such a Pharisee... There's a difference between passion and the false teachings of the ultra-charismatic movements, and I see those false teachings creeping into congregations, and I want to be on guard. Condemn me for that, if you wish.
Thanks for the coverage. Good so far.
So thankful for Bishop Jones and Bishop Webb
Good to hear my good friend Mike Lowry make the bishop's announcement.
Man, that prayer sounded downright Pentecostal!!
And that is not a complaint! I am seeing the GMC getting back to the pentecostal/charismatic roots. It is beautiful to watch!
I’m Methodist all day long. That prayer is Not Pentecostal at all. You should stop by my Church. Full of the Holy Spirit.
Yes it did. Love the passion.
Glad that Keith is ok
Would love to know who the one was that voted against everything. Would like to know why.
CLMs and Supply Pastors are two different roles.
Yes. But they are both positions in which an unordained person is serving over a congregation, right?
Hmmm, that prayer reminded me a lot of things like Bethel and Pentecostalism. Can't say I'm fond of that....
Reading a Pentecostal type prayer? Really? Not a fan of that.
I have no issues with the prayer myself.....please be open to the power of the Holy Spirit
