I remember this. In 2018, Max picked up the championship fight against Khabib, after tony got hurt, on a week's notice. Dude was showing concussion symptoms before his weight cut. He was taken to the E.R twice. The second time was when he passed out during a workout, he wasn't waking up and had slurred speech when he did. He got pulled, and Al Laquinta took the spot, in less than 24 hours. The match was deemed a catch weight bout because, obviously, Al wasn't able to make weight, either. Injuries happen all the time, but it's also good to know that you have a team that's their for your well-being and not just your end goals.
Max was talking out of one side of his mouth and giving robotic, corporate answers. Bisping was absolutely right to question how he was. We all have seen enough interviews with Max to know how engaging and animated he normally is. Great call by Michael.
With weight cutting AND short notice, some fighters truly push themselves to the human limit just to get inside the fence. We should respect anyone courageous and capable enough to make the walk.

Throughout the UFC many fighters have shown up to be real deal stand up hardcore guys but there is one level above that, many don't achieve which is a little surreal and bisping fits that class. Imagine taking your eye out one day during your own podcast and every single person in and around the fight scene has a holy fuck moment cos they never knew haha, unreal and unmatched in every way. Bisping has his own king throne and well deserved.

It was some brownies... and she's pre-diabetic so she's not supposed to have anything sweet. Anyhow, she had NO idea. She'd never eaten an edible in her life. The first thing I heard about it was my cousin texting me saying 'something really bad is happening to aunty... she can't move, she can't talk. We've called the ambulance'. Can you imagine? Hardcore Christian woman - never even gotten drunk her entire life... eats a mind blowing amount of edibles at the age of 78! I mean... if you didn't know someone had eaten an edible you might well think they're having a stroke or some shit. I got to the hospital and the entire family are there... my uncles, aunts, sisters, EVERYONE... OMG... what a moment when I realised what she'd done. The doctors could barely contain themselves from laughing... she was fine but she thought she was about to die! Can't imagine Max was high on edibles though - I mean dude would have gotten drug tested before and after?

Not sure what the repercussions are if you test higher than supposed to on fight night. They just don’t want fighters smoking on the day of their fight for what ever reason.

Its crazy how mma works. People always say mma math doesnt math and it couldnt be more true. Max got beat up by conor pretty good during their fight early on in their careers and obviously conor went on to achieve double champ status and he did some truly amazing things like the aldo knockout which imo was his most spectacular achievement due to the way he not only called it before the fight but him practicing that exact exchange in the back with his coach showed conors genius game planning and his mindset being one of his greatest attributes beside the physical gifts he was given. And it goes without saying the way he beat eddie up was simply a master class and his win over Chad when he originally was set to fight aldo after all of the press work traveling training etc yet after aldo pulled out he still decided to fight regardless of who it was showed his hunger to to be great at all costs. Mind you he was injured fought that fight with no Acl or meniscus im not entirely sure but my point is he fought and persevered over Chad. I say all of this bc at one point in both max and conors careers it was clear that conor had the better career and was a mich better fighter than max but now so many years later we see that max has had more success than conor and if they both were to weigh in at 55 im not 100% sure that conor would win this time around. I have a feeling that max would come out triumphant similar to conor and dustins trilogy. Who would have thought dustin would beat conor twice in a row after the first performance by conor and dustin didnt just win he won in insane fashion. Knockout in first fight and then tko in second due to broken leg which was wild af. Again mma math doesnt math
I have 4 confirmed concussions and it really takes a toll on your sleep and focus, sometimes you go on autopilot from waking up seeing white flashes and not knowing where u are.
