The plant so nice I bought it twice! I bought one that was grown from cuttings on November 1st and it just keeps growing! I was in a plant store about a week ago that I think was obviously grown from tissue culture and has so many growth points it's borderline ridiculous! So far in my experience it's even easier and faster going then any pothos!

Love this plant! So easy to care for, not finicky at all and gets large lovely leaves on a pole. It loves grow lights as well! 👍🥰😀

This plant is really easy and grows really well with ordinary coco pole too, big leaves:) no need for high maintance moss pole. Mine specimen was exposed for direct sun in morning hours untill about 11 am, no burn on its leaves:)

This is one of my favorite plants! I purchased one little cutting about two years ago and today she is on a plank, about five feet tall. Just one stem - bc I didn’t have the heart to cut it back. Then a few months ago my local Costco had them, like the one you were showing us. I got two; one is on a moss pole and the other one I left alone, as was. They’re both growing nicely. I’ll be interested in seeing the differences in their growth, if any.
Thanks for the post. I might try this type of moss pole. I’m not crazy for the ones I made from mesh wires.

@@EverythingPlants Jeff, I must make a correction. I moved my Squami from her table onto the floor and measured her against a measuring stick. She’s three feet tall, not five. I grossly overestimated her. She’s still lovely though!

Such a useful, comprehensive video! I have one on this type of moss pole and it is thriving on the lowest shelf in my grow cabinet (~2.5 feet from light). I have purchased plastic poles from 3 different Etsy sellers to make my own finished product and the best by far are from a Canadian seller.

Based on all the under the canopy plants, mine should all be loving darkness... I need like a 70 year old Ficus for them to truly feel at home 😂
When you picked up the skewer I said out loud "that's not a pencil" 🤔 thank goodness the next scene has the ✏️. Years ago I used to have a planted fresh water fish tank. I wonder if the pH buffering stuff would be ok for plants or if it would bind with nutrients, it's so easy to get without having to order. I've got very hard water with high mineral content (it stains everything reddish). Yay well water! At least it's free... The fish tank pH used to run around 7.5-8 which is a huge change when it comes to pH. So I used pH down. I could always tell when the water was needing tested BC the snail's would climb out and the fish would be struggling at the top. It was amazing both how fast they would go from normal to emergency and how fast they would go back to normal behavior with the pH down!

Just got me a squam. It's a small pot, but there's 3 mature plants with tons of offshoots. So obviously I had to chop some offshoots to plant.

Have you ever put your potting mix in the bottom of the pole? It would be the part that’s underground in the pot. The theory is that it will keep the potting substrate too wet.

You don’t put your pile all the way to the bottom? I’ve never seen it dine that way. Is it in the pot deep enough to hold steady until the plants arial roots grow into the pole and hold it steady?
