The balance isn't really a priority for the devs right now in this early stage and they're just trying to make the game run super responsively and be a lot of FUN to play. That being said Steam nextfest is coming up this week where anyone can play, all on a completely new build where I can't wait to see what madness the games bring - hope to see you all on the ladder there!
Seems odd to have a clickbait title and then reiterate in the comments that it's sensationalist bs.
@@mohastgridlock The match-up is is not balanced. You can ask anyone that has played, Infernal has too many mechanics and are overtuned in general. Of the top 15 players, 11 are Infernal right now.
Isn’t this the exact sort of click baity title they implies imbalance and negativity that frost giant is trying to avoid?

@@mohastgridlock It's literally super imbalanced. The comment adds context I didn't get a chance to talk about in the cast. I expect a lot more super broken, silly and ridiculous units and metas throughout the next months of development and I personally find it very interesting to document them here. If I mislead you somehow please explain
you gotta give it to the creators; The game is already being streamed and followed en masse, and it's only in beta stage.

Infernals can keep unit charges in their buildings and spawn units almost instantly, so it's Zerg with the production capabilities of Protoss with warp gate upgrade AND "free" units from infestation. Not 100% sure where the devs are going with that.
I hate to agree... but it does seem that Infernal is quite over tuned at the moment... or perhaps vanguard is undertuned... could be both... either way... too early to really complain about balance, it will continue to get better with more and more games.

There's no real difference between one being overtuned and one being undertuned. What matters is only that they are equal. There is no absolute power level, only power relative to the other faction.
new patch for next play test allows fiends to not lose hp when off "creep" which is even more insane.
Looks like a good RTS! SC/SC2 had an ideal formula for RTS games imo, and this looks like it iterates off of it beautifully.
I think the hard shadows of the units are interfering with the overall vision and clarity
I don't think it's unwinnable. Vanguard lancers and the shooting unit make minced meat out of this.
The fiends gotta lose hp over time though for sure

Really hope more units are added eventually. Compared to Zerospace and even Immortal Gates of Pyre, Stormgate gameplay just seems so linear and 1 dimensional with the lack of units. Every game is the same. Fiend across the map, hedgehog follow up from the Vanguard, then Brutes from infernals. The other 2 RTSes in development have fixed this issue by implementing either mercenary factions or subfactions. Stormgate hasn't really made any strides in this area.
Currently there are only tier 1 and 2 units available, while tier 3 units for each faction are already confirmed (and will probably be released with the next update in 4 days). Also there will be a new Coop-commander, who has a few new units. Subfactions will definitively be added, but I don`t know if this includes competitive 1v1 (probably not)
Subfactions are confirmed for a 3v3 mode they have anounced

For some reason the devs want the game to have fewer units than sc2. meanwhile dota2 and LoL have 100+ heroes with tons of different items and abilities. They are completely missing the mark on this part of the design. The game will have a great engine but no depth.
@@gabrielribeiro222 From what I understand, the 3v3 factions will be the same as those used in coop, this means heroes in 3v3. I could be wrong about that, but i'm pretty certain i heard it somewhere

bob overcharge looks stupidly OP, the fact that you can hold off harass at your bases with bobs ALONE is pretty cringe
Did we watch the same video? It works once for a few dudes. If your are competent you can just wear the oppoment down or attack another base
This is like a Terran complaining Zerg is op when the Zerg masses lings and gets a successful ling runby to the mineral line in all 3 of your bases, this is a player skill issue.

I watched about 20 non mirror matches of this game on youtube and only seen Vanguard win once.
